  1. Cheers - magic tune Any tunes with eight in the title?
  2. falkirk are out! Whats the theme tune to the magnificent seven.
  3. 2-0 against falkirk Mon the kirk more of us in the next round the better. BBC scotland are saying the biggest win was 10-0 to ranger back in the day. din't catch who that was against.
  4. yES 4-0 BUT CRAGS IS INJURED? Fraser even caught the ball!!!!!
  5. tYPE THAT AGAIN WORKED A CHARM LAST TIME
  6. YES YES YES YWES YES YES FUCKING YESSSSSSS!!!!!
  7. Think we could do with a wee bit of experience and hence think thats why we will keep a hold of lasley despite all the new midfielders. Up front at the moment is sutton archdeacon and mchugh. Still not sure that Mcgarry is a forward, so think we could do with some experience there.
  8. If JG is to play his 4 -2-3-1, then this needs two holding midfielders. For the moment we have forbes, jennings and lasley. think that is a good three for the season ahead as it allows for changes if there is a dip in form or injury. Can see lasley playing a big role in the side this year and as stated above adds a bit of experience to midfield, which in darkest december we might need to get into that 3rd spot
  9. One of the things that impressed me was Gannons statment that we had done nothing wrong. Cross border seems to have the knowledge and from the players own words is an attractive manager for players to play for from down south. Am also encouraged to see he has a tactical approach to the game on Thursday and is eager for the team to play that way. Obviously only time will tell but encouraging words none the less. Particularly when he is on about the 48hours seems to have learned the lesson fom last time about registering players with UEFA. a goalie (though it might just be a confidence thing) and a forward are essential. We have the players at the back in numbers but could do with a couple more to cover injuries. Boy from Man utd looks good on the Sky write up. Positive times Now all we have to do is beat these albanians. Mon the well.
  10. Seems to me like a good deal. I still have reservations though as to him being our player. if there is a e mail from the players agent as his representative then we may have trouble confirming he is our player. Our legal guys need to get on to Northampton and see what they have. If he is our player then yet again we are adding to the team and getting a bit ogf depth. he appears to get good write ups and he can't go wrong if he is big and athletic as said in the fishel site. With a statement that we could see another 8 players come in then this is surely positive. I would keep Fitzy DLS and mcgarry, at least until January. They compared to soem are our experienced players and could see them do a job. Particularly when we are changing our shape. 4 loan players though. If JG intention is as he stated earlier to get to Jan and see how the youngsters get on then surely we should play them. What positions will the loans be...? Will we see forbes, page, Archdeacon, McHugh, Hutchison, Slane etc. who knows all I know is this is brilliant. Oh and welcome to fir park Mr Coke.
  11. When is the deadline for the next round of the europa cup? Take it we still have the wildcard option as well? Thats obviously fingers crossed we win on thursday. Slightly off topic but do we have warm up games if we don't get through?
  12. What he said. Can I also welcome you up north. Hope you become a well fan, even if not we would still have a pint with you and point out where the team you did pick are gash. Please though don't go for the old firm. It has been done to death about all the sectarian stuff but even after that. a more insecure bunch you will not meet. Even a bit of banter will end up being taken seriously. Every slight is remembered every occasion where it is not a win must mean you are in league with the dark side of the force. It messes with your mojo. Of course that being said Airdrie and Hamilton are no goes either

    Klimpl

Was a bit weird to be honest when we went for Klimpl. MM was looking for someone that had to be 6 foot 3 and klimpl was an inch under or so. Next thing you know Klimpl is in as a midfielder. I never saw Klimpl playing in defence but maybe thats his best position somewhere where you don't need to be good on the ball. All you need to do is stop the other team scoring which he seemed quite good at in midfield. telling though that when we were eligable for the fair play award he didn't get a game.
  14. Didn't see the game but going by the comments on the site we seem to have had lots of posession without having much of a cutting edge. Despite that we still hit the bar and had a penalty though ultimately missed. Sounds positive surely? 2-0 well in Airdrie? Ref seems to have been a plonker with the bookings. Slone had a good game. How was Forbes Craigs and fitzy? Lasley play any better than the first leg with llanelli? Any particular guys who caused us problems from their side?
  15. See we are flying out tonight in order to play the game tomorrow at 4,30pm our time. Anyone think this is a good idea or would you prefer to have longer to aclimitise (get ready sorry my spelling is atrosiou.... at.... Bad)? I know thats what New Zealand all blacks do when they are playing at altitude but heat might be different.
  16. Would rather have a mince offer from sky or espn than the old firm. 1. Matches of the week will only be one or other, where the ther games are more competative. 2. the old firm will have a strangle hold on the other teams and dictate to them I know a few posters have said that we should go back to the way things were pre tele however that is just not possible. Football is entertainment if there is no money in a club then you might as well leave Motherwell and go down your local pitches and watch a game there as eventually that is the sort of quality you will gfet. Even the old squirm can't compete financially any more purely on the basis of tv money. Real madrid has just made a laughing stock of any football. 150 + Million on players. WHo can compete not even Man utd all down to money. Money comes from tv (royalty in Real madrids case) need money to compete. Thats what is wrong in football the gap is too big between those with the money and those without it. Old firm will still have followers to bring in more money than us so it will become even more of a uneven playing field. Want tv money just not the old firm dictating everything. The SPL should have TV and sell the rights etc that way no one or 2 teams can dictate what the others do.
  17. Germany isn't elscorchio in winter either. In the Summer it is too hot. As for desirable to look at, half an hour outside glasgow some of the best scenery in the world/ some of the best shell suits too. Culture? dripping, This is the home of the enlightenment. Western world owes us. Nuff said. From a football point of view then aye we are gash! As for Humphreys welcome to the well. Think he wil be a cracking gem who we will need to be patient with. Pace means a lot particularly in this league. Question is though will Sutton be able to get in the box for a cross.
  18. Doesn't JG read these boards...?
  19. This early in what is still pre season I can see us running out of steam after 60 or so. Will be difficult for the lads to know whether or not to put in the graft early doors and try and sneak a goal or play disciplined football at a slow place. Posession in the heat will be key. If we get it wrong could be a hamering for us. Don't think JG will let that happen though. Can see jennings come on as a sub to help defensively after 60 is up. Lasley will show he is the man in the mid or he might lose out for the rest of the season with forbes impressing and jennings coming in. 2-0 to them ( two set pieces) but 3-0 in the return to us.
  20. MarC Know any german players that could do with some first team experience or was that supposed to be MM. Think our young guys all have the potential to do well this season. I think the Albania match might be a bit early for them to show what they can do. Forbes Slane and Saunders all looked good in Wales. McHugh isn't far away nor Archdeacon. Page didn't do badly either. When you look at it like that thats is 6 players all with little first team experience. As they say you can't win anything with boys so who knows, young is fearless, older is wise. From the comments coming from JG then he seems to suggest the boys could do with at least 6 months (was quoted in the Sunday mail that he would get loans in for 6 months and see how the youngsters develop). Think the problem we will have is the heat over in Albania and by all accounts a decent team to play against. Think he will bring in one player before wednesdays deadline.
  21. from the sunday mail interview with JG "The one thing we will consider is good quality loans who will give us a performance in the next six months and then we can assess over that time period whether our kids have grown enough to take their place. "It's something I've always done because as a manager you've got to think long term but you have to make sure you buy yourself that time by being successful in the short-term. "There's not a great pool of players available for nothing. Good players usually command a transfer fee. "But we've an opportunity to bring in some really good players from down south and I think that's going to be the main target. "We plan to bring in players who are available on frees and have a look at them, whether they're Scottish or English as there are some excellent footballers in Scotland. Looks like he doesn't have any money for transfers.
  22. Thought that was a well put together post, giving sound advice. You know what the football situation is over there so we have been warned. From the pictures from the threads Vlore looks idyllic. As you say may the best team win. Good luck to you and yours and thanks for the post.
  23. On Sky sports that the goie Mark Brown is to be moved on. Worth a loan deal? Think his wages would be too high for us for a permanent move. Might also be better for celtic in the long run as it would allow potential buyers to see if he is any good. Can't remember when I last saw him play in a game.

    Albania

Is the home game at Fir Park or over in Airdrie again?
  25. If he does bring in 5 players for monday will be interesting to see who he selects as his wildcard. Would identify where he thinks the team is at its weakest. As for Crags. I think he has been brilliant over the last few years. Has motherwell really at heart and I admire what he does on the field and over the past month or so when we didn't have a manager. Thought his interview before going down to wales was telling when he said that all the players and managment had to think hard ( can't remember the exact quote) Would like to think that he hasn't taken the criticism to heart, which was in the papers and from the managment team. His presence in the team was telling since christmas last season. Mon the crags mon the well.
