  1. Difficult game to come on in but how did Magloire look? Is he our partner for Dec in a back 4? Hoping Kelly wasn’t the only signing for the first 11?
  2. If Carson is out for a while it’s another experienced leader we’re down. Hopefully our additions have that quality, which is harder to find in loan signings.
  3. Anyone have an idea when Donnelly is expected back?
  4. I really like Lasley and was prepared for him to make a couple of changes on Saturday, get a reaction from the players and be rewarded with the job permanently. It was interesting he brought Hastie back in and moved Grimshaw into midfield. Sadly for him it the changes didn’t pay off and there was no reaction from the team. You have to feel for Las not having O’Hara and Carson available for such a big game but starting Chapman and Mugabi, then subbing on White has changed my mind somewhat on wanting to see him get the job.
  5. Last we’ll see Lang hopefully, laughing away after a defeat. Robinson either needs to completely change the squad this window, including getting rid of players he started and subbed on tonight, or go.
  6. We paid a fee for Seedorf ourselves I think. Very strange. Wouldn’t surprise me to see White move on in January similar to the way Fisher and Johnson were quickly shifted out. When a player isn’t featuring Robinson quickly moves then on. Hylton another example. No idea if we have to pay up some of their deal each time it happens.
  7. Expect we might revert back to 433 soon with Cole right of the front three and Lang on the left, as Robinson’s favoured first 11.
  8. I’d like to see us go back to 4 at the back for this with Lamie or Mugabe making way for Hastie to come back in. Seems the perfect game for it and players will be playing for a place on Thursday. Watt and Lang scoring during the week is positive, hopefully they can both continue in a bit of form and get us some important goals.
  9. With the injuries we’ve had in central defence and holding midfield, it’s a surprise Maguire hasn’t featured at all. I wonder if we might look at Andy Halliday as an option for covering a few positions we’ve been short in? Hopeful we’ll get our first League win tomorrow, expect McGinley to start in a back four and maybe even Hastie to come back in.
  10. Obviously the team needs him but from a purely financial point of view, this is surely the time to sell Campbell? Also wouldn’t be a shock is there was interest in Polworth given he hadn’t been starting and did well at the start of last season.
  11. Don’t really care where he goes to be honest, just want a good fee and recognition for the best prospect I can ever remember at Fir Park. Thought at the time last summer, 3.25 million was reasonable for us. However 2 million for Dykes and 1.5 million for Scott since then, I’m not sure. Sell on is a must.
  12. Turnbull continues to impress even playing in this team and on current form. I’d expect a big club will come in and take him for a good fee. To be considered by Burrows.. Without DT are we at risk of relegation? Should the board trust Robinson to source replacements?
  13. Gallagher and O’Donnell are good players too. But yes, beyond that we look hopeless. To have spent so much money and be starting games with Mugabe, Seedorf and White is not acceptable.
  14. The board have been very good to Robinson and he is clearly well regarded at Motherwell. It looks like we have trusted his judgement and reinvested some of the fees from player sales into the squad this season. Big call whether we want to continue that faith after this transfer window.
  15. Been horrible watching us this season. What a shame with so much promise and money invested, we look really poor and easy to get the better of.
  16. Only way I can see us accepting anything less than we did before for Turnbull is if there’s an agreement with the player included in the contract extension. Livingston managing to get 2 million for Dykes makes 3 million for Turnbull look a bargain in a way.
  17. I think Robinson’s planned front three was Lang on the left, Long through the middle and Hastie on the right. I can see him giving this another chance as a 3, perhaps against Accies. Felt like a message to Hastie by not giving him any minutes at the weekend but surely he’s not fallen that far back the pecking order. Likes of Seedorf and White have shown slight promise at times but ultimately none of our forward options look on form.
  18. Who knows but some outgoings wouldn’t be a surprise. One thing I like about O’Donnell is that he’s a leader and does a lot of talking on the pitch, we seem to be badly needing that.
  19. Very impressed with this signing. Hopefully when everyone is fit we can settle on a first 11 and system that gets us results.
  20. Not a very streetwise handball from Lamie so soon after taking the lead in a tight game. Hopefully we can bring in a fullback or two. Injuries have been cruel to us but Hartley and Tait would have both started for us last night and the team looks to be lacking leadership.
  21. Feel sorry for Robinson but he’s ultimately responsible for the money spent and the squad we now have. We celebrated signing Chris Long as if it was some sort of coup. Doesn’t look interested and has started every game despite missing most of preseason and being in shite form. What was the point in some of the signings that can’t get game time ahead of players way off form? Turnbull, Gallagher, Carson are quality players and we should be ok over the course. However given the number of signings we made in the situation clubs are in, it’s a disgrace County and United seem to be better equipped than us.
  22. Inverness and Livi fans didn’t rate White and Lamie that highly and they are clubs below us. We seemed to be in a bidding war with ourselves to tie down Long. We gave Mugabe 18 months when he hadn’t had a club in months and had the piss ripped out of us for signing Fox. Fucking terrible and the pissing away of money each season doesn’t fit with the fan owned club model one bit. Given the numbers, the balance in the squad is a joke .
  23. Would Maguire not be trusted to come in and play CB? Given he was given a new deal preseason, I’m surprised he didn’t start ahead of Mugabe at the weekend.
  24. Hopefully we learned last night we need wingers on the wing and a midfield 3 of Turnbull/Polworth, O’Hara/Donnelly and always Alan Campbell. Are Donnelly and O’Hara genuine options at right back? Has anyone seen them play there? Grimshaw really struggled last night. We have so many options up front but really just need someone who will bury a chance like we served up last night.
  25. Both either side of the lone striker would give us a pretty strong 11. Wonder if we’ll see more of Donnelly at RB and CB next season or if we’re selling a midfielder? Even when O’Hara was fit and on form he often wasn’t picked to start so surprised he’d be so keen to join and we’d pay a fee unless he was going to be playing..
