  1. I'm gonna make an outrageous prediction this week and say that both teams finish with 9 men, and we win 1-0. Us winning is probably the more outrageous prediction of the two to be fair.

  2. It’s not competitive at all, it’s two teams miles better than everyone else. But the papers are obsessed with the old firm regardless and can’t see how damaging they are to Scottish football.

  3. I haven’t read every post but I didn’t see anyone mentioning that Lamie looked fully committed against his new employer, I actually thought he had a good game and you certainly cannot question his commitment for us.

  4. Not for me mate, that lopsided 442 we played in a midweek game at firhill has scarred me for life.we really need to do something with our midfield though,I would like us to to go with 2 strikers and someone to link the play between midfield and up front, most likely roberts.

  5. The problem with the League can be traced back to 1976 in my opinion, and the demise of Scottish football generally. Unfortunately the Genie won't go back in the bottle, and for as long as the TV companies are desperate for four bigot fests a season, this league format is what we are stuck with.

  6. The papers are waxing lyrical about how competitive the League is outside the Old Firm whereas I look at it as "fear football" with teams set up not to lose rather than try to win games which is not conducive to silky football. Yes it's competitive with no meaningless games but by Christ it's mind numbingly boring and looks like continuing in that vein for the foreseeable future.

  7. Exactly, some give out dogs abuse then get all offended when a player gives a bit back. I’ve got no problem with it.

  8. If the manager allows the reaction of the fans to dictate how he manages the team then we're in bigger trouble than I thought. Nah, if fans are happy to dish out abuse throughout the game to a player they need to expect to get told to pipe down now and then. Don't dish it if you can't take it and all that.

  9. The difference has been Watt. We’ve had a run of games where we would have picked up points if he’d been playing, I’ve no doubt about that. But the standard off football this season from just about everyone has been awful with the best game been the opener against a Hibs who also look as bad as us these days, how Aberdeen can be so poor with their budget is also baffling.

  10. Re the booing. I never boo during the game, or direct criticism at individual players for the reasons already discussed. But supporters must have the right to boo at half time or at full time to let the manager know they arent pleased with whats being served up. If we dont, how is he to know how we feel about whats on show? Whats his motivation to change it ? Given how dire the performance was yesterday, I thought the support were fairly restrained. It also struck me that whenever we actually tried to play a little bit of football yesterday we got some success in getting into their box and creating chances. Every time we lumped it forward or put a long throw into the box we lost it. Surely that cant have escaped the managers attention? I dont think our support are any worse than any other and I actually think our fans are pretty desperate to have something to applaud and get enthusiastic about (you just have to look back to some of the games at the start of the season when there appeared to be a really strong bond building to see that) Its up to the manager and the players to provide that spark.

  11. I've said it over and over, I don't think the football is good right now. But people saying they don't remember a time when it's ever been so bad? It was worse just over a year ago. Other folk saying we have nothing to play for but survival? We are 1 point off 4th! We have a realistic chance of going further in the cup, finishing top 6, winning more games than last season, scoring more goals than last season, conceding less than last season, gaining more points than last season. I think the whole thing with Covid and people not being able to attend games before the start of this season has put some peoples sense of perspective out of kilter. The truth is we've been honking to watch, bar a David Turnbull inspired spell, since the money tap was screwed closed in the later days of McCall's era. It's nothing new.
