  1. He actually stood today for 20 minutes chatting to his buddy in the dug out as 10 man rangers tore us to shreds. He offered no instruction in that time and no encouragement or direction , looked like he was checking his paddy power account on his phone. Apart from not starting woolery his biggest tactical fuck ups were putting Cornelius to right back and having efford and Carrol on the pitch. His tactics also allowed tavenier all the space and time in the world whilst they had 11 and 10 men - very similar to Macgregor against Celtic . How can a professional manager not see that threat and guard against it? Top 6 matters fuck all when you offer zero entertainment , bring zero youth through , waste money on needless signings and the next month bring in all your chums to the coaching staff. We are losing fans all over the place and I am another on the list who will not invest any more time , effort and money whilst I see little or no effort from a number of players and watch a team with an absolute clown at the helm who thinks he will be ok talking shite to our nice wee chummy media team. as for ya bezzer reveal yourself - are you a actually burrows , McMahon or alexander himself ? Keep kidding yourself on that this year and season and signings and tactics is acceptable . Worst Motherwell team, worst squad and worst manager I’ve seen at fir park in 35 years - results this year back up that statement. Those saying the defence is shit are correct to a degree but fuck me the 3 in midfield ahead of them doesn’t help. We simply don’t have a defence , midfield or front 3 that allows us to play 433 but he still persists with it week after week after week.

  2. Who stood and watched (yet again) Mugabi prove that he has never been and never will be a right back? Hibs in the cup should have seen the end of that nonsense. Sakala ripped him to shreds today. Centre Back or nothing. Who stood and watched (yet again) Efford prove he should have been left playing lower division football in Belgium? Woolery must be woeful in training if he is behind him in the first team queue. Lots of effort but nothing else. Who stood and watched (yet again) Ojala prove that he could not catch a one legged blind man? Embarrassing seeing him floundering as Kelly saved his bacon yet again following a long hopeful punt forward from the opposition. sadly injury appears to have taken its toll. Who stood and watched (yet again) Goss put in another Imposter of the Year application? Has he any idea what a forward pass is or that he is meant to challenge the opposition for the ball? He did make two decent passes up in Aberdeen though. Two a season must be rated a good return. Who set the team up to play narrow (yet again) with a lightweight midfield (yet again). See almost any game you like this season. Who did nothing about the shambles we were watching for over an hour (yet again) until the game was over? In fairness he got out of jail at Livi. Not so lucky at Perth or Dingwall though. I think we all know the answer to those questions. Yes, teams go through bad spells and luck plays a part. But Alexander has done nothing to address issues we can all identify every week and in fact he seems to delight in trying to prove his point over and over again. He is hanging many players out to dry.........Played out of position or out of their depth. One League win in almost 5 months and he is bleating that he is not getting enough credit for finishing top six. He should be thankful he is still in a job because in truth, from the position we were in,4th position is the least we should have achieved. Teams quickly caught on to his one dimensional approach and he is either unable or unwilling to adapt. Now he is about to bring in more of his similar minded team of coaches I fear for what we will be presented with next season. Enough is enough. Football is not enjoyable any more. Time for Alexander to move on and let someone else try to repair the damage.

  3. I can’t argue with that. I wasn’t looking for us to beat Rangers today but when the circumstances presented themselves I did feel the worst we would get would be a draw. However we need to face the stark fact that we very probably have the worst squad of players that’s ever been assembled at Fir Park. It’s packed full of utter dross. Added to that we have a manager in charge of the aforesaid utter dross, whose football philosophy makes me cringe. We are bereft of football ability; we lack cohesiveness as a group; we are uncompetitive and utterly unwatchable. We’ve only taken 9 points from a possible 42 since the turn of the year and that’s relegation form. Thankfully it won’t happen this season but it’s an absolute racing certainty that it’ll be on the cards from the start of next season. We are also starting to lose fans with even some diehards finding it tough to keep going. Radical change is badly needed in our recruitment philosophy as the quality of player being brought in from lower and non-league English and Irish football has been abysmal for some time now. It’s time for the chairman and board to wake up smartly and smell the shite.

  4. Can someone tell me why we signed Shaw on loan, I would have thought he was tempted to come to us to get playing football, I know he has had a few substitute appearances but he certainly has never got his chance as far as I can see. The big French guy Victor as well, does GA think he is one for the future as he certainly doesn’t rate him at the moment!

  5. I love how people are posting be realistic we are Motherwell don’t expect greatness, but this year our league has been especially shit, so 4th place was there for the taking. If our side had any sort of fight or heart that game was winnable today, Down to ten men against a weaken Rangers side you have got to fancy yourselves, but too many players hiding and not good enough, defenders sitting too deep, meaning midfield sitting too deep, basically our shape when they went to ten was shit, three at the back flood the midfield and overwhelm them, but no, we look lazy give up the middle of the park and let them cut us to bits with ten men, great tactics……

  6. How many times has carroll done that this season that's led to a goal, bloody farcical that he keeps doing it again and again, after the first couple of times you would think he would have learned a lesson.between him and mcginley our options in that position are truly woeful.

  7. I’m certainly a happy clapper, up there with the best of them on here but you’ve really highlighted much of the issues that I have under Alexander. The problem is he signed many of the players on display today with many on long contracts and he’s going to need some summer to turn around most of the defence and midfield for starters. He will get to start next season but let’s not kid ourselves that 2022 has been anything other than a complete shit show. I’m willing to give him that chance because we actually ended up top six but the goodwill is going to evaporate pretty quickly if results and performances don’t improve. Alexander stated he wanted a smaller squad with better quality players on longer contracts, we need to now see that’s actually happened.

  8. It's easier to mock when folk display a complete lack of understanding of the whole situation around Motherwell FC and the whole context of Scottish football. We have to play to our strengths, Alexander did that, did it better than the bottom half of the league, did it better than teams with massive budget advantages all the while trying to repair and rebuild relegation candidates who lost all of their best players over the last few seasons. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do, we did that and, believe it or not, it worked. Yes, it worked. Next season is a different stage of development. I want Alexander to bring in at least a couple of technically better players in key positions so we can move forward and adapt our tactics but that is easier said than done and there are no guarantees. A lot of our supporters need a massive dose of reality.

  9. You can't blame Alexander for his tactics, because the players he signed and coaches are hopeless? I wouldn't mock anyone else for their logic if I was coming out with that.

  10. Sadly true and you can include me in that. Combination of moving a good 30 miles away and utter dross being served up most seasons. I feel there is zero ambition within the club as a whole these days and it's just accepted the majority of fans.

  11. Watched the early stages and we looked like rabbits caught in headlights. Defended far too deeply and left wings exposed. It was no surprise that Sevco opened the scoring. In truth we we were beaten at 1145. Playing Goss and Tierney in the same team was a big mistake. Why no Woolery?

  12. Listened to Tierney’s post match interview with him saying we matched them, must have been at a different game from me, second half I seen us out moved, out run basically outplayed by ten men who wanted to win a game of football more than our pretenders.

  13. Absolutely pathetic second half showing. Created nothing and conceded two cheap avoidable goals. We need a full clear out of that squad in the summer, starting with Graham Alexander and no spawny top six finish should keep him in the post. We have been dismal all season and won ONE league match in 2022 and we are almost into May. That is unacceptable. Alexander OUT

  14. Our squad has improved from last season but that says more about how bad we were then. The defence needs an entire clear out in the summer and we need to add to the midfield and attack.

  15. Worst performance of the season for me in the second half, no heart or fight from any one in that team, looked like we were the side with ten men, second half tactics all wrong, should have went to back three and flooded midfield, Alexander must take the blame for this, too many players hiding today. Can’t see us taking another point for the rest of the season, players should be embarrassed turning in that performance, for me manager has to go and take the majority of this team with him. Only positive is we can’t go down, but it’s going to be a horrible two years if he stays.

  16. We were poor to a man. We pressed well for a bit, but it wasn't for anything because we were so bad on the ball. Our first touch was woeful, especially up front. Efford was the worst culprit in that regard, frequently giving the ball back to them. To lose that second goal so easily after the restart summed us up. We may have shown spirit this season by coming back so often, but that's usually because we've handed the opposition a soft goal. Carroll seems to have a habit of turning his back to shots. Don't know if that's a normal thing. I do that, but I'm not a professional defender. The penalty just wasn't. Embarrassing that the ref struck a pose, had a think, then realized it was his chance to even up the red card. Tierney, shields and Cornelius should get maximum minutes for the next four games to get them ready for next season. However, I'm concerned that the latter might just be a yard to slow for the role he has. Overall, we need to be less scared of the ball. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

  18. For me, the hard work would be clearing his desk and taking a long long walk. Get someone in who knows how to set up a team. We are shapeless and clueless every game. The second half today was a disgrace.

  20. How do you know Doncaster wanted it moved? Rangers wanted it moved. Approached Motherwell as they are entitled to and is correct procedure. . Motherwell agreed (like it or loathe it). BOTH Clubs approached Spfl who agreed on basis Sky confirmed they could rearrange their Schedule. Police then approached and, after sorting out Overtime costs and manning details, they agreed. It's not a big deal Game over. Some may not like that the game was moved, perhaps through a hatred of Rangers, Burrows or both. But no way do I believe Motherwell were forced to agree to the change. Other countries rearrange games all the time to assist their teams in Europe. For some reason folk in Scotland have an issue with it. Could the Club have communicated better and was the change at short notice? Yes. Hopefully lessons will be learned. Sadly, I think Superward was spot on in his last paragraph. Given the number of "likes" that post has, it appears many agree.
