  1. What ever way you cut it the Max Johnston situation is a failure to protect a club asset. O'Donnell has been absolutely dismal for us and for a lot of last season we were playing Mugabi at right back. It's not like there wasn't openings in his position. I'd also say going back to Johnston's first couple of appearances in the first team in 2020-21 it was clear to most that he was a player with potential. If there is a Bologna deal going Johnston would be daft not to take it but you'd like it to be a harder decisions for him. Sadly we've not done much to make him think about it.

  2. We got 3million for Turnbull. We got a few excellent seasons out of Campbell. We got a fortune for the unfinished article that was James Scott. We got a development fee for Hastie who turned out to be really quite pish in the end. The list goes on. I don't think there's a single youngster out there who has left us quickly and gone on to better things in recent years. It was the exact same when Hastie left, people foaming at the mouth about an amazing young talent that we should have signed on a 3 year deal after a bang average season on loan at Airdrie. Johnson looks to be an excellent prospect after a few games, but we've done very well getting a lot of return from our youngsters in recent years. Chat of "mismanagement" is dreadful when nobody has any fuckin clue what's going on behind the scenes. We might have offered him six deals over the past two years and he's snubbed them all for all we know.

  3. I don’t see us getting anything on Saturday either. We’re due a defeat and they are playing well. 3-1 home win.

  4. These complaints surface every time we lose a youngster. I'm sure of you know of a way to force them to sign the contracts we offer the club would be delighted to know about it. It wasn't that long ago people on here were saying we should follow the Dundee Utd model where they tied up their youngsters on lucrative long-term contracts in the hope one of them would generate a larger transfer fee. Didn't hear too much about it when they were struggling in the Championship and scrambling about trying to offload their millions in bank debt to private investors.

  5. I know it's a different team at a different time, but Levein had a decent record at Tannadice. I'd much rather they go with someone like Jim Goodwin (who has done nothing since a decent run at Alloa) or Tommy Wright, who showed his prowess for a relegation scrap with Killie.

  6. I don't care about the performance or who scores, this is one of those games where the result and 3 points is all that matters, and hopefully it's in Motherwell's favour.

  7. Obviously just one opinion but kind of gives you impression that Hammell really didn't know what he was doing. Still gutted for him and will still be a well legend but change was needed

  8. What's Dundee Utd got to do with our inability to sign up a youth player with potential to a longer contract. I'd say that we failed to recognise his potential as we constantly loaned him out for development with out ever really believing he would make anything of it as is the way, unless were desperate very few youths break straight through to our first team despite managers spouting shit to us about bringing through youths (as did Hammel) and also Kettlewell but he's still to be judged. As I've said before on here Robinson's ass was saved by Turnbull who only got a chance because of the desperate position we were in and I'd class Turnbull as exceptional and a once in a generation player who should have been in our team at least a year before he was. He unfortunately is being wasted at Celtic and should be looking to move on ASAP. Quality players under 20 must be promoted to play first team asap to aid their development everyone is not a late bloomer. You should be able to tell their quality within 6 months then if there is no development they can get farmed out for contract to run down It looks very much like the way Jake Hastie was farmed out had a good couple of months with us and moved on for Dev Fee only
