  1. There's no way we are that close to Hibs hearts and aberdeen. Those numbers must be made up.

  2. So you're saying they can only play if they let us have 12 men? Can't see the other teams in the league agreeing to that..

  5. Sometimes you need to take bold steps and push the envelope otherwise you'll never progress. I'm all for project 12th man.

  6. The issue the other week was playing Mugabi and Lamie together. Lamie is very decent for 90% of the game but switches off for periods of each game. Mugabi big strong lad but lacks positional awareness, he's regularly caught wrong side of players. The number of penalties , red cards and poor goals are generally due to lack of awareness , which is difficult to coach. Where it can work is having either of them in the 3-5-1-2 or 5-3-1-2 . Personal view is he's not the answer for a first team starter. Ok to have him around to plug gaps. Either he or Lamie should be off loaded as no value in keeping both.

  8. Awful draw as usual for us. We’re not winning that one.

  9. It's good to see him take the shot on with his left foot. Spittal had a decent chance not long before that but shat it from shooting on his weakest foot and wasted the opportunity.

  10. Ross County and Airdrie winning and Ayr are obviously a bit savvier than us and have overtaken us. Kettlewell has made a complete cunt of this. Fucked it against 10 men.

  11. The thing is, you don't know if you're going to get that regular game time if you stay, do you? He could have knocked back Leeds, and a manager like Kettlewell comes in and doesn't fancy playing him. What then? It's like when people say that Hastie was wrong to leave for Rangers. Was he? He came back pretty soon afterwards and it was clear that his run of form was temporary. If he'd stayed with us he'd likely not have progressed much beyond what he did when he came back on loan. Truth is, you never know in football. You strike while the iron is hot, and you grab your chance when it comes. Because it's not always guaranteed to come back round in future. There's too many variables to be knocking back good money and the chance to give it a try at a higher level. You stay at Motherwell, get a bad injury and drop out of the game entirely. It could easily happen. So no, he wasn't badly advised. He was advised to sign the contract where he'd earn the most money, and where he'd be given the opportunity to train and learn from players and coaches higher up the food chain. He didn't make the grade, but he had to give it a shot. I'm sure he'll wind up at another club on a similar level to ourselves, and kick on from there. The only difference is he's got experience of living down south, training and playing with coaches and players at a high level, and his bank account likely looks a lot better.

  12. I fucking despair. Wage thieves? Get a fucking grip.

  13. It absolutely isn't the same at all. Those players would be "stealing a wage" if the manager wanted to pick them, but they were making up excuses for not being able to play, claiming injuries that couldn't be confirmed nor denied by the medical team and so on. Those players walking around the building aren't involved simply because the manager doesn't want to involve them. There's a huge difference there. They are still training diligently, making themselves available for selection. So they are fulfilling their side of the contract that they signed. They're not "stealing a wage."

  14. None of the players mentioned are "stealing a wage." That kind of pish is ridiculous. There's players in our squad who simply don't fit with what the manager is looking to do. That's not on them, they're available for selection (if fit) and would most likely be happy to play if given the chance. Players like Shields can be accused of many things, such as not being up to the level needed, but of "stealing a wage"? Not for me.
