  1. Stay or Go - either way better to get sorted at pace - that way the we know the scale of recruitment. It's bitter sweet to see so many of our team attract this level of attention. I'd love more of the talk to be around who's arriving than leaving. Tomorrow I fully expect to see some of the new signings showing off the new kit.
  2. The next week or so will be quite telling - depends on whether contracts get announced from 1 July onwards. A new manager will have impact - take last year for example. McGhee, Fadinger and Watt were probably agreed well before JBA was on the scene. Versus Just, Longelo, Said RCA had JBA's involvement. Similar calibre walking through the door next week will get me excited.
  3. Are we expecting our first signings to be announced on first July ? last season Watt , Fadinger , McGhee all announced on 1st with Just, Longelo and Said a week or so later . If we’re able land anything like that quality I’ll be delighted . Not heard any rumours , but eagerly anticipating some additions .
  4. That would be great news. Would really like to hold onto Watt
  5. TBH I thought Maswanhise was almost a done deal just - he was already high risk and now World Cup - be stunned watt - less obvious bit of the money is right then hard to refuse Be happy if all 3 stayed but with all the speculation and if at the right price I could see it happening
  6. At the core even if the better players do move on there’s plenty to build on. RCC will be an interesting one as I’m not sure what his best position is . Felts he was shoe horned in to various roles but if fit he can add lots of value . We do need some quality signings to start coming through the door - particularly defenders
  7. I’m not a fan sevco not the player - but fair play to them for sending a message . Frustratingly they’re in a stronger position to command higher transfer fees than us . I Just hope we get a fair whack and he moves anywhere but Scotland .
  8. McGinns situation not surprising nor are the other gaps across the squad - reasonable to expect that we have several players lined up and now that players contracts have expired Im hoping the next couple of weeks we see several quality players come through the door. Hope that we sort out the others who are leaving at pace as well. No point in having them around if they're not staying.
  9. The comings and goings of players may prove to be critical here . Slattery gone, Maswanhise most certainly, Just likely. Hopefully what comes in can match or improve us further. I get your broader point though - continuation of style of play etc.
  10. Just glad it's sorted - A Jens sized gap isn't easy to fill. Think it was @grizzlyg who got pelters for referencing Jens as a legend but I can't honestly remember a better manager to have come through our doors in donkeys years. The club are sticking to the plan, may or may not have been the first choice but equally if someone told me we're about to bring in the manager from Rosenborg who wants to play attractive football and had a 45%+ win rate I'd have been pretty chuffed. Being young no doubt means he's made mistakes and will make more but full credit to everyone at the club for how they've managed the process. Be good to get some early momentum to keep the progression on track.
  11. Absolutely - that’s going to push his value up only downside is how unlikely he is to be at FP next season .
  12. For the pyros etc can understand why we’d be punished . the pitch invasion post end of game at FP is one thing . The final day of season was utterly disgraceful , as has been Celtics reaction and now the governing body . You get the sense that the tide could turn against Celtic as it’s no longer just Scottish football watching - the broader broadcasters I think will pick up on this .
  13. I thought it would be done by now tbh given the club will knew they’d have to replace . Leads to me suspecting we’ve not secured our primary preferred candidate(s) got to think something will happen this week . meanwhile credit to the club for keeping it tight , they manage that side of things well .
  14. One point that really gets my goat is context of what's happening around a player is completely ignored. For example with Nicholson, there's no aknowledgement that the Celtic player nudging him could result in him handling the ball and completely ignoring the fact that he must have in part used his head to project the ball 20 yards out the park. Similar with Longelo- because it hit his upper arm he's ok - what about the player pushing him into the position. Putting any MFC bias to the side what is clear that a) we don't have technology and b) we don't have professionals who understand the context. For me there's no question the game is much worse for VAR and needs binned.
