  1. That's mine now sent, via PayPal. Thanks for all your efforts.
  2. The 20s have been drawn at home to Queen's Park first team in the first round.
  3. I'll send a tenner at the end of this month.
  4. Hopefully your own!
  5. He is a good player, and probably could play on the left, but he is a right-sided player. So why take him on loan when we have a left-sided left back the same age as him already on our books who we are developing and who doesn't go to Rangers at the end of the season?
  6. If you are being told this sort of information by someone official, you would think there is a data protection breach going on. There is also the question of how ethical and moral you are being if you are willing to reveal the private inner workings of the club you support. If you are being told things by someone within the club, then there is a betrayal of trust by either you or the person telling you, or both, when you reveal them on a public forum. And that is if what you say is true. If it isn't, then there are a whole other set of issues at play.
  7. It did, Andy - the feel good factor was sky high. Dream come true.
  8. His proud dad, of course. Sad, I know, but had to be done.
  9. Unfortunately there was one unsavoury incident in front of us. I missed the start of it but my wife and son said that a group of about 5/6 45-year-old casuals sat in the front row but one of their group decided he was going to sit right behind them in row B. The fact that every seat was taken didn't bother the wee ned and he just pushed a guy away from his seat and told him to find somewhere else. He didn't give a shit about any comments from anyone around him, threatened to fight the guy whose seat he had taken when the man went to get a steward and rounded on the man's mate when he dared to touch him to say to him to calm down. The second guy then left to find his mate and took him to find another pair of seats rather than face the hassle and it was only because the guy and his mate who suffered were ordinary decent guys who didn't want trouble that the wee wanker didn't get the fight that he seemed to be ready to welcome. By the time I knew what was going on, it was all virtually over but the wee arsehole was the sort who was totally unconcerned of what anyone thought of him as long as he got his own way. I know you get all sorts among a fan base but there sure are some who embarrass you to think they support the same club.
  10. Just announced: a limited number of tickets for the gazebo will available on a pay at the gate basis.
  11. That's actually just not true. If you know someone in the club who is telling you this, then I would take everything they say with a pinch of salt from now on.
  12. 20s games are usually free to get in but on the odd occasion they charge, it's never more than £3 - £5.
  13. Great show from all of them and on another day we would have won by a couple of clear goals. Almost went for Bowman but Moult just shaded it from him for the variety of ways he caused problems for their defence.
  14. On the club website now too: http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2017/03/23/kieran-kennedy-statement/ Motherwell FC can today confirm Kieran Kennedy has left the club by mutual consent. The 23-year old has had a difficult time with injuries this term, his last appearance in Claret and Amber coming against Celtic back in May of 2016. Kennedy asked to leave the club in order to try and continue his career in the semi-professional ranks south of the border and the club has allowed him to move on. Kieran, who joined from Leicester City in the summer of 2015 after coming through the youth ranks at Man City, played twenty-five times for ‘Well. Everyone at the club would like to thank Kieran for his efforts whilst at Fir Park and wish him luck and success in his future career.
  15. We have been awarded a 3-0 win... http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2017/03/07/development-league-result-annulled/
  16. Points/goals/results are not a great indication of quality or lack of it in the Development League, as some teams regularly play the maximum number of overage players, some hardly ever do, and some change week in, week out. Then there are different attitudes among the overage players - some give everything, others coast through the game as if they don't want to be there. Then, with the players of the right age to play, some teams have mostly boys in their final year of the age group, others play a lot of first years or even a few u16s or u17s for experience. The best reflection the way things are set up at the moment is the Youth Cup, where no overage players are allowed.
  17. If Heneghan has played for the 20s, it has only been a couple of games when he first arrived, and would have been as an overage player. Chalmers has only played a handful of u20s games since he joined us and also as an overage player. Jules is young enough to play for them but as far as I can remember hasn't done so.
  18. The 20s will be away to Celtic in the semi a week on Sunday, probably at either Cappielow or Dumbarton. (Celtic beat Hibs 1-0 this afternoon.)
  19. Not sure who the 8 are, but here's the 20s' league record so far: Won against: Inverness, Dundee Utd (twice), Hamilton (twice), Kilmarnock, Dunfermline, Dundee, Rangers, Aberdeen Drawn against: Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Ross County, Partick Thistle, St Mirren Lost to: Hibs (twice), Hearts, Falkirk
  20. He has completed two years full time with the twenties. Last season (15/16) he was too old for the 17s. He has played most of the 20s games in this last season and was on a particularly good run of form in the second half of the season. His contract offer would be decided at 20s level and would have nothing to do with Scott.
  21. Not sure if we can call him Tits, though.
  22. It's their job. If McGhee wanted to come in and train them, they'd be told to come in and they'd be there. Do you honestly think the manager would offer that as an option? We could all make up scenarios and say if they were offered this or that and they didn't do it, it would be a bad thing. But the fact is that McGhee hasn't offered this, so no one is failing to take the opportunity. All you are doing is offering up a hypothetical scenario that doesn't exist, so what's the point???
  23. The 20s are in more days a week than the first team (sometimes seven days a week) and are in longer hours on those days, too. They can't be stood down as they have games to play and jobs around the club to do. They get the same close season as the first team and, in fact, often return a few days earlier than the first team squad. Even when they get a week off training at Christmas and New Year, they are still in on first team match days doing their jobs. I think there is also a misconception that they train totally separately form the first team. Almost all days the two squads train on adjacent pitches and several of the 20s train with the first team every week, so that over the season all of the young boys train with the first team players many times. Three times, also, the manager had the 20s in with the Scotland squad before the friendlies, providing the opposition in training games. There's also the fact that some of the boys are still growing, but because if the physical demands of the season they only have a grow when they stop training for a period, like now. I understand what you are saying about the benefit of them getting the manager to themselves for a week, but I don't think they are are as far removed from the manager as you think and this time off for them is still important.
  24. [quote name="CMWellfan" post="472080" timestamp="1465310805 He should be at Fir Park working the under-twenties to death to see if he can get any of them up to scratch for the first team squad. The 20s are on holiday. They are entitled to a close season too.
