š yes itās the range and dispersion of points which is much narrower this year which makes it al lthe more interesting. Away from the data analytics and towards theš§”, i find it somewhat ironic that while š¶ āwe hate Hearts and we hate Dundeeā š¶ Iāll be willing them both in to get a result today š

BBC have and already out of date (doesnāt include yesterdayās results) analysis of who may win the league which shows us as 5th based on expected goals. Basically that methodology has Celtic and Hibs underperforming and Hearts, Rangers, and us over performing in that order. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0erdjp0plpo So many other factors to take into account of course but Iād say a win here and the others sharing/dropping points will put us in a strong position to potentially finish 3rd, not just consolidate 4th

Same thoughts it as tighter than appeared as inevitably Polworth was moving towards goal and away from defensively line very similar situation in Falkirk game but goal was awarded Without trying to raise people blood pressure re VAR š the BbC broadcast different views of Killies and Falkirks checks. The Falkirk goal looked well offside on Sportscene and I didnāt see any lines being used (or not on highlights at least). Could the length of time taken be different because of VAR placement? Im not sure how it works but will definitely take it yesterday š

Vote went to Priestman but could have just as easily gone to Longelo for marauding runs and crosses, Slattery for all round play and sublime pass for Just goal, Just for all round play and actually shooting properly š¤£, Said for the joy and windups he brings to every game. Special mention to Rocco McColm (not McColn) who had a very assured cameo and looked so chuffed at the final whistle.
-
To be fair he looked a bit more lively than last week and played a nice lay off which started the build up for fourth goal. dont see us playing with the two of them up front unless its a last throw of dice chasing a game.

From purely a footballing perspective Polworth could probably fit into our team (took his āgoalā well today) but agree his personality/hangups would absolutely not - classic case of self-sabotaging a career.

Oscar was comfortable all day and started quite a few moves. I was expecting him to be play more of the Watt role but either it was a deliberate tactic not to have a player building the play or he wasnāt disciplined enough. Special mention to Fadinger who injected much needed pace into game and definitely was the main reason we scored even if final touch was from JT

Yes. I agree. There were a lot of shouts from JBA for AP to get more involved. Worse than not being able to play the style of football, he didnāt seem interested in making an effort.
-
A lot of the fear is weāve all experienced disappointment. I think this is a great lineup in current state where the message seems to be anyone can step in and knows the system and expectations. If they donāt perform then we have a great bench to call upon. COYW

Positive noises from JBA about both Halliday and Nicholson in training. Whether he really thinks they can play active part is open to debate but wouldnāt be the first time JBA surprised us plus he does like to āmanageā the minutes. AH is probably too immobile for system but I can see SN playing a part.

This is the pros and cons of loans system for clubs though isnāt it? we recalled Matty because of needing cover due to injury and Celtic are in similar position because the Man City player they had got recalled. yes arguably Celtic are in better position because Welsh has been getting game time and playing well so they have more than just a substitute/cover Personally Iām glad he performed for us rather than simply made up numbers as some loanees have done having said that weāve also shown we can win without him so I thank him and move on.

I donāt often get on my high horse but this is a sanctimonious and entitled reply. I have read the rest of the thread and replies and the dismissive attitude doesnāt get better. This DOES matter regardless of who is asking for the sanction and I am no fan of SPFL or Scottish Government hypocrisy. Use of pyros is not some political stance it is an outright danger to the people using and others in the vicinity. If the club is willing to accept that they donāt lose out financially because inconsiderate and negligent morons, or their excusers, have paid the cost of 50 tickets then Iām seriously worried about that attitude towards the safety and wellbeing of majority of the rest of us fans. As per the original post if Block E stuck to the tifos, joyful exuberance, and carnival atmosphere they can and do create they would continue be a credit to the club. Covering up and dismissing the dangerous behaviour risks totally undermining all the good. Multiple wrongs and hypocrisy from other āfansā behaviours is deflection and no excuse.

Just kept going throughout whole game so perhaps a bit unfair to vote for Said but he made a huge impact when he came on. Likewise Sparrow for the nullified JK. Mentions, as now seems always, to McGinn and Welsh š

Still buzzing after todayās result. Ok the performance maybe wasnāt as good as some games but having watched FB/insta clips from media team it reinforces JBA comments about not getting frustrated - its obvious that players are totally bought into his system and approach and got the rewards for perseverance. In summary, itās just a great time to be a Well fan
-
Didnāt realise he was at Killie. I know he wasnāt everyoneās favourite but I genuinely think he had some good moments as Well player. In the sliding doors/alternate universe which is JBA I reckon DT could flourish
-
Utdās problem isnāt really scoring, itās their defence. I think weāll do well to keep our run of clean sheets continuing so at least a couple of goals will be needed for the win. Iād settle for draw at moment. prior to StM they had apparently never gone 6games without a win under Goodwin. May it be unlucky number 7 for him.
-
I noticed on BBC preview of game it has, in addition to usual list of long term injuries, Jordan McGhee out with thigh injury. Couldnāt remember, is this a long term injury and has he has ever been fit for selection under JBA?
-
I happen to agree with this but on other hand I have no issue with some people coming on a fans forum and having a vent at manager / players etc. I had rest of family with me yesterday all really up for game and it was a crushing disappointment. im sure the players will feel the pain but unlikely to be anywhere near what we all do. best way they can make it right is winning against Aberdeen and Killie and Iām sure many, if not most, will be up for the Hibs game under lights.
-
I agree but will some people start looking enviously at Dundee third in table and their ādinosaurā manager.
-
The difference here is that those two were against teams counting to try and actively score more. Martindale will quite happily have his team sit back as much as required to let us give them another chance. I donāt think either AP or Hendry are good enough to spearhead the system. Might be worth trying them together (ideally) before the game is totally gone
-
Genuine question for those who seem the most concerned about 5 draws. Assuming our points were same after 5 games would you prefer that it had been based on 1 win, 2 draws, and 2 losses? Eg not inconceivable that games played out differently and we lost to Rangers and Killie (were down in both games) beat Hearts drew StM and Dundee
-
Likewise as a fan but fortunately JBA hasnāt shown any sign of that type of thinking and seems to be instilling that belief in the players. I think all of them will want to āmake amendsā for not winning at Hearts - not just one player. oh and I doubt theyāll give a flying f about Kettlewell.
-
Pretty sure Bruno Fernandez joined Udinese when he was 18 and has done alright with career moves. Seems like a decent squadra for Lennon to develop at without immediate pressure of some of the bigger Italian clubs.
-
As others have said I reckon weāll have some joy against teams who donāt just sit in but that also means they are more likely to be those who take advantage of our higher risk approach. Heart says 5th with far more good results and ānearlyā draws. Head says 8th with some real highs along the way but ultimately stifled by the SPL drudgery and frustrating losses.

Where in Italy are you calling from? š
