It has nothing to do with fan base, everything is relative - I have never suggested spending the same as they do, I'm using it as a model, not a literal example.

Your second point isn't really relevant and the ever improving cannot be ignored, they have re-invested in the playing squad and brought themselves to a solid level to compete both domestically and European.

    Case and point, Hibs.

They got to the final, won the cup, built on the success and took momentum into a league campaign, spiralling again into a European campaign and an ever improving squad.

Hibs have at least 3 times more the number of season ticket holders than us. They aren’t fan owned and have a wage structure that is far greater than ours. The 2 aren’t comparable you blethering idiot.

Assuming we get 2 more points this season we will have 'improved' on last season but anything deeper than surface level analysis shows that post Moult our form has gone completely down the toilet.  So what happens when we play a full season without him?  Will it be Ross County without Boyce?

There are too many people around here engaged in experiments in relativism, embracing poor standards and then claiming exaggerated success against a very low bar.  The truth is we are in long term rut going back beyond the current manager and at least a couple of antecedents.  With 2 wins in our last 8 against the dregs of the league - Ross County, Partick, Hamilton, Dundee, I think you are straining to see anything different in the future.

I wouldn't mind so much if people were honest and extolled that view that we have a low budget and can't expect to be anything other than mediocre but some of the fawning encomiums about 'a club transformed' show a perception of our season that has no basis in reality....and when reality is ignored it tends to come back and bite you.

It's disappointing to lose matches but I'm a Motherwell supporter and have been for a long time.  What really bothers me is the perception of the season as seen through these boards.  It's fantasy.

Encomiums- good word. Shame you’re right miserable.

  4. Thought Dunne was superb 2nd half, really grown in confidence since the start of the season. 1st time seeing Tom Aldred and thought he looked terrific- Robinson (scouting team) certainly has an eye for a defender.

Main looks good and Ciftci is showing some signs of promise. All in all a solid performance against a poor Dundee team.

Still no having Andy Rose but Im a grumpy bastart.

  5. Dropping Tait your off your nut, what do Cadden and Frear do that Tait doesnt, he probably has our most assists this season and is up and down all game and can defend far better than both and can get stuck in.

    *you're off your nut:p

I dont particularly like Tait on the left as it leads to him cutting back inside and it forgoes any semblance of width coming down the left. I prefer Cadden to him on the right as I think Cadden is a better player. Tait is decent and will play his part but for me he doesnt get into my strongest 11.

In an ideal world it could be argued that all 3 should be able to start but in the shape that Robinson favours it aint possible.

  6. Heard the same problems from a player at Celtic, shame . Guy needs help. Waste of a talent if that curtails his career

Very much so, he has to allow himself to be helped though unfortunately. Past experience would suggest that this isn't likely.

Still his bird is absolutely stunning, so he always has that.

  7. My preferred starting 11 for the majority of games would be;

    Carson

    Aldred Hartley Kipre

    Cadden Frear

    Campbell McHugh Tanner

    Nadir Main

Big fan of what Robinson has done for us so far, in many respects he's worked miracles. Even if you look at the sellable assets we have in the team now you can see that we're in a far far better place than we have been in recent years.

Unfortunately his propensity to try and shitfest games until the 60th is in my opinion not only flawed but pretty brutal to watch. His reliance on this tactic is in my opinion costing us points here and there and I do have concern about his blinkered approach. Still overall very pleased with the work he has done so far, we've been to a cup final and are in the mix for a top 6 place- anyone who would have turned that down at the start of the season would be mental.

  8. My post on Stokes was largely tongue in cheek, but seeing as you seem to be in the know - what exactly has Stokes done to get him sacked by Hibs?

From what I heard apparently he has a gambling problem and owed the Hibs players a load of dough that was causing problems in the dressing room. No idea if thats the reason hes been binned or not but is probably one of the contributing factors.

  9. And continues to build his centre midfield around Steven smith who is no longer a competent spfl player at left back never mind in midfield. Any team that relies on Dom Thomas for creativity is relegation material

Aye but Steven Smith is his bae, so there is that.

The only full 90 minutes I've seen Dom Thomas play is against us this season. He played one decent ball into the box and then achieved the square root of fuck all really after that. You're right, they're screwed.

  10. Not upset with that in the slightest and no desire to cause upset to others.

We all look at fixtures ahead of course we do. Some see hope some see despair. Personally, I like to choose hope. I have no reasoning for this other than I'm a glass is half full sort of guy. I have no football qualifications so don't sweat the small stuff.

The club pay people with the appropriate skills to do that.

I do however find it tiresome reading the same warnings week in week out. This is the second week in a row we have been reminded of our apparent failure to beat those above us.

In truth, I'm well happy with being in that split between the two halves of the league. It's an obvious sign of progress.

I do think though, that based upon the obvious spirit around the team at this moment, we fans have reason to be optimistic about the upcoming fixtures. I for one am confident that this current Motherwell team will not confine beating the big teams this season to just cup games.

We may not finish in the top 6, we may not maintain this momentum but we will acquire some great memories from this season. And when those memorable moments come, it's really tiresome when the usual glass is half empty folk piss on those chips with their precautionary messages using stats that can be manipulated.

    Carpe diem !!!!

Mate, all he said was that we've got tougher games coming up...and we do.

Btw I'm not standing up for Ya Bezzer particularly as he does indeed talk a power of shite, his melt down over Dom Thomas was hilarious.

But, I really have no idea idea why you're getting so bent out of shape over him looking at some tricky fixtures coming up. No-one seems to be being negative, perhaps you're looking for something that isn't there atm, which would suggest you're the one who is obsessed with negativity.

  11. Talk about stating the obvious and hammering the shit out of it !!!

Are you a health and safety inspector for your day job???

Here's a novel idea. Why don't we just enjoy this fabulous spell of supporting our team for what it is and let the management team who actually know about football do the worrying about the next round of games.

    What?

Why wouldn't he look at our next round of fixtures? He's a fan that has an interest in the club. Why are you upset with that?
