  1. I don't know him personally, but I also don't like it when its insinuated he left on different terms than what he did.
  2. First half was turgid and someone near me made a pertinent point "when we put the ball on the deck, we actually create something, 5 moves and 5 chances .... amazing eh?" Main is many of the qualities of Moult, workrate, willing to take a snapshot when others would look for a pass, making a shooting chance from nothing. Campbell shows behaviour well in excess of his years, glad to see Dunne show composure and I'm encouraged that many more fans are now starting to be educated to what Rose is tasked with. My only criticism, other than the emphasis on long ball tactics is McHugh. I can't fault his workrate and what he did last season when tasked with playing centre-half. However tonight I witnessed too many sloppy or 50-50 passes. Main had an overlap with him on the left wing in the first half and he played it into the box where Cifcti had to check his run and was pick-pocketed which left me questioning his decision making. His captaincy has maybe secured the minutes played this season.
  3. Don't let hearsay and second guessing get in the way of a good yarn Andy. Well said, some folk on here should maybe count to ten before coming on here and trying to sully someone who has given up more time and effort than they would ever consider.
  4. OK, so lets look at things rationally here. If he's the best keeper in the league, then his value outweighs that of Gordon, how much would we seem him go for if fit and sold tomorrow? 10k to 350k in 6 months is bitcoin-esque gains and ordinarily would be a fantastic return, but he has 2.5 years left on his contract. Ambition is one thing but he is cover and would he be relegated to cover in 6 months time. How does he hope to get into the NI squad if a bench warmer? We're facing heading to the market to find a first team keeper on deadline day, when Robinson has shared in the past in light of our sales and cup run this year, agents have upped their bottom line and got greedy as they see us as being flush. How happy would be to get an average replacement and pay over the odds for him? Everything about this has "no no no" stamped all over it.
  5. Saturday's fightback reminded me of the 2-2 at Easter Road early on in the season. Away from home, capital club, bigger budget, better league form and issues with us having equal possession over route 1. We'd be happy with a draw and ecstatic with a win (like Aberdeen 3-0). Only thing I hope for is .... if we get a significant goal, wither it be contentious, referee buffoonery, legal or illegal, I'd rather there's not a repeat of the handwringing and crap in the Hearts thread. These things even out over time and we've had a fair few shockers against us. For every Craig Reid free kick against Aberdeen on the last day of the season there's a Dundee in January away with McGhee's resting bitch face cranked up to the max. It's called Karma. And in it's absence I have ordered a voodoo doll resembling Sinclair from eBay which I'm going to prick more than Dougie Imrie's maw.
  6. Who needs opposition fans when we fight amongst ourselves? Arguing if a last minute equaliser was over the line (when the pictures show it was) .... Jesus wept. After a tumultuous few months I can understand why the free flowing football maybe out the window in the short term for point accumulation. We're top 6, cup final and still in the Scottish Cup in February. A significant number were calling for our managers head during the past few weeks. This season was all about consolidating our SPFL status and pushing on in 2018-19. What many are guilty of is resetting the bar in mid November which is unfair on the team and management.
  7. Tait was one where I thought where can you put him with limited spots in the team, highlighted by a few who have also posted their teams and left Cadden out.
  8. I'd rather some of the fringe players who promised a lot (Bigi, Frear, etc) step up and give the manager a selection headache. Based on what I've seen I think Robinson sees our strongest team at present as: --------------------Carson--------------------- -----Kipre---------Hartley--------Aldred----- Cadden--Campbell--McHugh--Frear/Rose --------------------Tanner--------------------- --------------Ciftci-------Main----------------
  9. No, just highlighting that you appeared to reset your expectation bar in mid November with us in the final and sitting in 3rd from what you anticipated for in July. Add to that comments made without taking into account context and mitigating factors is why I shone a light on comments you and Steelboy made.
  10. Looked almost if some humility had creeped in over time, no doubt driven by the not too glowing messages from Plymouth fans upon hearing he was leaving. He has to step up to the plate as he's now in that pivotal point of his career. He was signed by Ronnie at Celtic so take that with a pinch of salt.
  11. You two need a long fucking look in a mirror. Alternatively why not look back to the thread where folk on here posted what they expected for the season ahead back in the summer. Most of it was survival, a few top 6 at best and decent cup representation. http://www.steelmenonline.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=15537&hl= Both you two trumpets posts are on page two ... guess what, we're pretty much where you hoped we be. Canny beat getting hoisted by ones own petard eh? Can you imagine where we'd be without a few shitty refereeing decisions? There's no doubt that sapped the moral from the team. Despite a crappy run, we've not had a number of guaranteed starters for the past month, we're only a few points off 6th. If anyone is guilty of anything its all of us for thinking we had enough strength in depth on the bench to step up to the plate when called upon. Many promised a lot and delivered little.
  12. A number of players promised a lot and have failed to deliver. Many were full of praise for the manager switching things up when previous ones persevered, evident sometimes these pay off and other times they don't. The Celtic games took it out us, I've seen it before in games where the perceived feeling of injustice is a hard one to shake. Remember Dundee and the goal that never was last season? The home game against Celtic must have been like a defeat. Lets not jump on the bash Robinson bus too quickly, the first half yesterday was all one way traffic. Some of you cunts are all sugar or all shite
  13. Were you able to hold it together Jay? ..... Stay Strong
  14. Aye we got it, it's just WeeYin's one was much better
  15. BBC are reporting in region of 500k, so you'd hope 150k left over after Wrexham and Boyle/Les get their cut. 150k is what we used to secure both Marvin and Moult, so lets keep the faith. In a few years time you'd expect that investment will have paid off 10 fold. We've found players before who were unknown and produced the goods, these apocalyptic threads (or more a few naysayers who post in them) are as intrinsic to Motherwell FC as panty wetting over Hampden ticket provision. Hartley for me is now key. Funny how this place 6 weeks ago raved about how Bowman running was instrumental to Moult performing. Now for too many he's as pish as he was perceived in the summer. Oh how we enjoy the rollercoaster.
  16. Expect your twitter to be bombarded by Celtic fans claiming you are a thug and expect the wee fella to take a cynical dive in front of his mother just before bedtime, you get the evils and sent to empty the bin.
  17. FFS, Sky Sports centre going mental on my phone for all the wrong reasons
  18. After some of your chronic posts, nobody on here suggests you take a night or two off. Rose does the donkey work and continually gets a start telling me the manager either values his contribution or he's flogging one of his signings in the hope he comes good. I'm inclined to go with the former. Frear has had precious little time to impress this season and it must be frustrating for him as from January to May he was consistently our best player. I'm inclined to not agree with your suggestion for those reasons. As for your second point, agree wholeheartedly.
  19. Board approached his agent and said what will it take for him to stay. Agent asked for XXX, which was steep as Robinson said. Board went away and found what the agent was asking for somehow, brought it to the table. Agent said, erm nah, change of mind and reneged. I don't fault Moult in all of this at all.
  20. Come January my shopping list would be (in order): 1./ Replacement for Moult regardless if he leaves then or not 2./ Tie up Hartley 3./ Bring in Defensive cover 4./ Encourage McHugh to find his form 5./ Determine if Plummer is first team material 6./ Ask Santa to gift some extra composure to Kipre and Dunne You would hope there would be a little cash with the cup run to make a 50k punt here or a 100k punt there like we did with Moult and Marvin, look how that panned out. A couple of things seem to result in a good ROI in the current environment and are easily marketable are speed, workrate and as always ... goals. Technique sadly is not so important.
  21. I didn't imagine in July we would be headed in the right direction until next summer, where Robinson would have had 3 windows to build and learn. That was confounded as of late November, upwards of 500k in the bank for the cup run and at one point sitting 3rd in the league. We have made a quantum leap this season and exceeded every expectation. The two wins against Aberdeen this season have maybe gave us a false idea of where we are. I don't see a loss to Hibs as being that bad, the manner in which we did, well thats open to debate. The Celtic games just showed whats its like to be the poor bugger in the yellow bib chasing the ball in that 1 touch triangle game they do to warm up ..... effectively for 270 minutes, of course it's going to be a bit demoralising combined with the feeling that we were wronged. What I would have given for a international break in late November. A league season is all about taking chances and riding luck and it normally evens out over the course, some of the points we've earned so have have had a rub of the green and some we've been denied through an inch here or there or a lack of sporting integrity. There's a number of fringe players who can now get an opportunity to stake a claim for a start in the 2nd half of the season. Personally I'd go for (based on current injuries): ------------------ Griffiths ----------------- Tait - Hartley(McHugh) - Kipre - Hammy Grimshaw ----- Rose ---- Bigi ----- Frear ------------------ Tanner ------------------ ----------------- Bowman -----------------
  22. I've been subsequently told that his injury is bonafide by someone close to whats happening.
  23. Turning on my cynical hat here but could the injury to Moult be inflated to ensure he's sidelined and comes to a new employer (deal maybe already agreed) without any possibility of being unavailable? Just saying there may be more to this.
  24. If we sell him for 2 bob and a ginger bottle in January then Wrexham get 25% of said 2 bob and ginger bottle, however I suspect we'd be looking for 25% of any sell on fee similar to Marvin .... and that pocketed us no less than 400k. A sell on in January is not only about what he goes for on the day, it would be nice if a few struggling teams down south seen him as the answer to jumpstart their season or push them onto a playoff spot. The ensuring bidding war would be nice. However it would all be about the sell on. If he stays with us and we get an extra 200k for a league finish then so being it but we do get hee-haw else. Best solution, sell him for 250k, loaned back to us for rest of season, 25% sell on .... we get that, I'll take Flow out to One Devonshire and hand him the menu. Griffiths equal to Carson .... easy tiger
