Is there any truth in what I am hearing that we can't play our next tie at fir park due to the commonwealth games and lack of police in the area?
-
I think it got renamed....from "Motherwell in europe this season"
That could be why! I was looking at the thread names going "no it can't be that, or that, or that"
-
page 36 ya lazy cnt
Edit: Sorry that could be blind
Can't even remember reading this thread! Cheers!

I know I seen it somewhere on the forum, but can't find it anymore, anyone got a list of the potential opponents?
-
Are we just throwing about some names from folk we like in Champy?
If so, I'd love to see us sign Tonton Zola. And Freddy Adu while we're at it.
Freddy Adu? Free agent by the way.
-
it was difficult but aberdeen just got less likeable.
langfield, anderson, considine, robson, jack, flood, mcginn, pawlett and goodwillie. cocksockets one and all.
Not to mention McInnes, mcginn and johnny Hayes.
-
And Goodwillie signs for the sheep.

Hibs could be set to launch a move for free agent James McFadden, an ex-Everton teammate of manager Alan Stubbs. (Sun)
Would hate to see that.
-
I suspect we are trying to offload Nielsen.
Ahh, but who would take him? He's not shown much since he joined.
-
with regards to us not having named a number 1, are we perhaps still awaiting a decision from Hollis or could we maybe be looking at someone on loan?
-
Do you know where he is going then?
if you know there is no compensation
Maybe he doesn't have a club at all.
-
Clarkson isn't the answer, he's past it, had his time, we do t want to be the rainjhurs and sign our history.

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright hopes to secure the services of striker David Goodwillie, who was recently freed by Blackburn Rovers. (Various)
Surely if St Johnstone can afford Goodwillie, we can too.
-
I was sure he was out of contract too. So he is either training with us or has a new one aye.
As far as I'm aware, youth contracts continue as a week by week contract if the players contract runs out and they are not officially released, with the aim of keeping them fit or with discussions ongoing.

Despite being only 29 I reckon Brian McLean’s stint playing in the Scottish Premiership could be at an end.
I second that, done nothing of note in his career so far.

In my opinion it would be daft to take a winger who scored 11 goals for the season and then play him up front.
Surely, all things being equal, it reduces the potential number of goals scored by the team over the season?
It's much easier to find a forward who will score 10 goals, than a winger that will score 10 goals from the wide position.
It's harder to score goals playing winger than it is to score them playing up top, more chances would come his way which would surely equal more goals, I'm not saying it's the solution, I'm simply saying it is an option.

Really liked Anier, and in particular his debut goal, but this could work out alright for us. We really need a pacy number 10 to work with Sutton, Anier was more like a second number 9 at times. Think it'll be a link up type striker we go for, possibly one that can play wide also.
So not Faddy, Higgy, though OJ would obviously be perfect. Would bloody love to see JOB or Burke at the club but don't think either can play as one of two up front.
Probably someone we have never heard of from league one.
If we were to get one of the two mentioned, Ainsworth is more than capable of moving into the secondary striker role.
-
... or Casagolda whose wiki page says he scored 45 times for us in 13 games - legend!
He did, did he not?
-
He's also the ugliest fella to wear claret and amber since Kevin Christie
What about Stephen Pearson, Jim Hamilton or mark Reynolds?
-
Butcher sacked, will they move for McCall?
-
The Leeds goalie, Alan Martin is it?
Just realised he didn't play for them once.
-
If that was true, then at least one of them would have gone on to a higher (or even equal level) to us after we released them.
I don't remember that ever happening - which was kinda my original point.
The Leeds goalie, Alan Martin is it?

Dougie Imrie has joined Hamilton, that'll promptly quash the rumour that is posted every year linking us with him!
-
McPake has signed for Dundee, you can all stop worrying.

As unreliable as the sun is, we can only wish it is true, a player like ojamaa would improve us five fold.
