  1. this time in may 2005, tears of joy and jubilation streamed down my face as an 11 year old youngster in the main stand at fir park...

9 years on and the tears of joy are back, absolutely brilliant the way the goal came about, made it even sweeter after anderson's goal earlier in the year!

    ONE LOVE, MOTHERWELL FC!

    SINCE I WAS YOUNG!

  2. As I said in my first post on this thread, my opinion is not welcomed because there is a clique type of thing going on here where only certain people can comment without being slated. The same people who no doubt slate our players for the slightest mistake. End of the day they're getting paid to play football because they are decent at it, you are paying to watch it because you are not.

  3. There's too many fans here blaming Nielsen completely, first of all, for him to have to do any sort of work, the other 10 players haven't done their job, plus we are the 15th best league in the world, you cannot expect us to attract world class goalkeepers! We were lucky to have ruddy and Randolph for the past few years, however in my opinion (which won't be welcomed by 90% of the people on here who know nothing about actually playing football, the ones who slate angol from the stand when he is on the shoulder of the last defender and want him to go further to receive a pass, NAW OFFSIDE!) the days of us even coming close to having someone permanently leave a club like, in Randolph's case, charlton are long behind us. When a league has no pulling power, unless you are Celtic, or have money, you can't expect top class! Also, out of the 12 first choice goalkeepers in the spl, Nielsen has the most international experience and has performed against higher quality opposition than probably all the goalies (bar Forster on the champions league), and after the jeers of the crowd towards both our keepers this season, I'd challenge any fan in that crowd to have a better game than either.

  4. The sheepers want him off the wage bill so they can sign Goodwillie on loan for the rest of the season.

Dundee United supposedly were only paying £1500 of his £15k a week deal, which I'm sure Aberdeen could've afforded with releasing wylde. There must've been another reason, ie a waste of wages.

  5. Mibbe a bit of pedantry but we're not and have never claimed to be "ultras", its a term that rightly or wrongly draws negative connotations in the UK and we're keen to stay away from it.

When asked if they are casuals many say they are not casuals but they are ultras.

  6. Nothing will be done, just like nothing has ever been done! It's not just the green brigade it's the group of wee fannies acting like ultras called the "well bois". Police had them lined up against the outer wall of the electric bar yet they still attempted to act "hard" and shout things. One boy tried to act the smart arse by quoting legislation and was subsequently carted. I'm all for atmosphere but not when it's embarrassing other supporters.

  7. All joking aside McManus probably is their biggest goal threat as they are absolutely gash. If we approach this in the right manner it should be a comfortable win but if they like their manager they will be fighting tooth and nail to stop him from getting sacked so could up their game.

Simple way to nullify their biggest threat, play young Cummins instead of McManus!

  8. You don't have to an eye for a player to go to an English Premiership club and find two good players to come in on loan.

Ruddy and Jutkiewicz were the best players by a mile that Gannon brought in.

Jennings was a good player but would any one really say Humphrey, Coke, Hateley and Moutaouakil were great players unmatched by players brought in before or since?

    Hardly.

Bringing on Murphy and Hutchinson who were already at the club and had already made debuts was a bigger plus for Gannon than any of the players he signed.

I rated giles coke much higher than I rated Jennings.

  9. I am pretty certain that he is a Motherwell fan, hopefully Delboy on here will confirm it as he has much closer ties with Doogie than I do.

I'll need to ask my dad when he's back in the country, he knows him much better than me.

  10. Doogie White is a close friend of my family, have never heard of him supporting Motherwell, he's never really spoke much about football, which could be why. Always thought he was a Celtic man.

  11. The beeb are claiming it as a deadline day signing though, presumably because there is nothing much else to write about.....

They claim we registered him, which could be correct, he was signed to us a while back, but may not have been registered immediately.

  12. In the short time that they have been around they have done not too badly. In season 1905-6, nineteen years after we were formed we finished joint 9th with Morton. The year before, we finished bottom of the pile with 14 points.

There's a stark contrast between now and then, now there's much more money, and id say Inverness have more than us.
