  1. Sandy Bryson was in charge of player registrations at SFA a couple of years ago. Not sure what post or role he undertakes now. Would be surprised if he was passing on details of transfer fees, if indeed that's the case, to third parties if the information wasn't already in the public domain. Anyhow, more importantly, who is running the sweep for the number of players to be freed. I will hazard a guess at 8 first team players and 4 u20s.
  2. Absolutely. The very same point I have been trying to make. If we can't tie him down to a new contract, and that looks unlikely, then we are not in a strong bargaining position
  3. The st mirren player left for £200k plus add ons not £500k as you say. Big difference. Also st mirren would've been entitled to compensation if Mallon ran his contract down, and st mirren offered improved terms, which also protects the clubs interests, whereas we are not in that position. I'm not for a minute suggesting Mallan is better than moult, because he's not, but it's not a like for like comparison.
  4. I'm not his biggest fan but he's decent. unfortunately (or fortunately) not there today so not going to start blaming players. Was he at fault for any of the goals like?
  5. If, in the unlikely event he signs a new contract, we are in a better negotiating position. That's not up for debate. If he doesn't some English teams will be willing to take on a chance on a bosman next summer, rather than pay £500k for example on someone whose unproven at at that level. A lot of the championship money is going to Western Europe not the spfl.
  6. There's no guarantee any offers are going to be over£500k. So if no one offers over £500k for him we refuse all other offers and let him go for nowt next summer ? The board can't dictate what someone is willing to offer. The only way we can maximise returns is by getting the player on a longer contract.
  7. There's no way he going to Crystal Palace or similar standard if he's wanting to play. He's miles away from that standard. Realistically given he's only a year to go on his contract and little desire to extend the most we are likely to get us £500k and that's being a tad optimistic
  8. They'll be offering much more in all likelihood
  9. Absolutely - part of me hopes there's a change of plan and he's retained for next season but that's now very unlikely. His goals and assists are going to a major loss, more than people think. Cadden is unlikely to offer a similar attacking threat. I do recognise though that cadden offers more in other areas - that's not up for debate
  10. Mchugh was a pretty good signing was he not? No more playing contracts for Keith - it would be a travesty, or a sacking offence, if he was signed again next season given we have mchugh and Campbell to play that very same position. We can't keep offering renewed contracts to legends well and truly past their sell by date.
  11. Nick Walsh was the ref. Not quite as bad as Kevin Clancy was on Saturday but it would be difficult to surpass that. Never a free kick for our goal so got a rub of the green for once
  12. Mchugh should at the very least be in with a shout. Probably won't be however with McManus and hammell there though
  13. Ainsworth and frear the stand out performers. But have to vote for Lionel
  14. He deserves a lot of credit for tonight not only for replacing ferguson who was going to cost us a goal or two against jones but also for tweaking the attacking threat is the second half to exploit Killies weakness against the counter attack. His tactics were bang on the money
  15. Nobody wants to finish below accies think that's a given but the primary objective just now is to avoid the playoffs anything else is a bonus
  16. Well said - great support yesterday who didn't have a great deal to shout about (goal and result apart). Take some positivity and a decent support in to the game on Tuesday and get the job done
  17. Yogi went all terry butcher, blamed the players and got relegated as a result. He's finished as a manager in or around the top flight after the raith shambles, unless Inverness have the balls to sack foran
  18. Agree, and to the latter probably championship bound
  19. Agree on both counts - there's a lot of flak heading the way of the manager but he achieved what we set out to achieve. Ground out a vital three points What option do we have other than to shitfest a game with a midfield of cadden frear Lasley Campbell and clay?
  20. Andy Ryan was released by Hamilton for, according to some of their supporters, for being shite and nowhere near premiership standard. I agree however with what your suggesting regarding lower league players and bettering bowman and Blyths paltry goal return
