  1. I don't purely because he can't play in a team that presses high up the park and one that defends from the front, nor is he a type that links play particularly well. The rumours regarding his salary are pretty scary too. But theres no doubting he is a very good goalscorer. I'm pretty sure the renewal of his contract will divide fans views
  2. I thought lasley and Pearson were both poor in the first half neither of the two of them offered any protection to our defence however both stepped up to the mark in the 2nd half. Long - did all that was asked of him Law - played well but could have rivalled vergini for og of the season Straker - much maligned but played well although got too cocky in 2nd half. Will always be a scapegoat no matter what he does. Mcmanus - looks a lot better with Laing alongside him. Laing - rough and ready but theres signs of a very decent centre half there. Lasley - looks better with pearson alongside him Pearson - think he has played a lot better but gives us drive. Ainsworth - where's that performance been all season Johnson - good signing his crosses are to die for. Needs to improve fitness. Mcdonald - his worst game since coming back but still offers something Erwin - played very well - I'm sure most were hoping he would get the opportunity to take the penalty.
  3. Ainsworth although erwin and Johnson ran him close
  4. I agree we look like a new team because erwin and Mcdonald defend from the front and as a result the Midfield, in particular lasley, no longer need to press high up the pitch to defenders. We therefore look better in midfield too. Sutton cannot press, simply cause he cannot run. im less concerned about erwin not scoring because the partnership is working well and McDonald is scoring.
  5. Iv certainly seen far worse celtic goalies than Marshall. But one things for sure he doesn't appear to have the Midas touch when it comes to recommending goalies. That said I'm not convinced he would have any involvement in the signing of George long
  6. You got any evidence of this? I find it hard to believe he was worse than Iain Andrews
  7. The header back was the right call for me the problem was long leaving his box when he had no chance of getting the ball. Mcmanus has been poor for us and I've been one of his biggest critics but he wasn't to blame tonight
  8. The first part I don't agree with, the second you are absolutely correct
  9. Straker and McManus everyone's scapegoats but werr the only two of our back 5 not culpable at any of our goals conceded. Just saying like
  10. The keepers cost us some points not straker tho
  11. Keeper at fault for both - that's 4 goals so far in 5 games
  12. Same team as last week. Come on you cnuts I've bet draw and win don't let me down
  13. Erwin and McDonald up top have allowed us to defend from the front which we haven't done all season. sutton is incapable of doing this due to the density of his concrete. That said I'm almost certain ol' blue circle would have notched from one of marvs excellent crosses on Saturday.
  14. He worked with barraclough at notts county along with jocky Scott who is also on board in some scouting capacity
  15. [quote name='Lobey_Dosser' timestamp='1425751804' post='434562' I thought we lacked creativity in the final third against an organised defence and believe we could have done with taking Erwin and Johnson off a little earlier. Erwin yes - Johnson no - thought marvin was the best player on the park
  16. We were excellent first half against 11 men - shite second half against 10 men. Good performances from Johnson and McDonald, poor performances from grant and erwin. Not gonna jump on the straker bandwagon this week, one pass apart he did ok today
  17. £1.5k pw off the wage bill if in the unlikely event Gunnar willing to walk without settlement for his contract
  18. Vigurs and Lawson are out for season confirmed by themselves Vigurs has slipped disc and has operation on Tuesday. Need hammell back pronto so hopefully he's not out for season too
  19. Disagree entirely. This time last season he was a contender for player of the year and was instrumental in us getting second place. He hasn't had a good season this season but he's not alone. Not every player we sign has to be based on the ability to make money on, sometime we need to sign someone who may add experience or balance to the squad without necessarily with a view to a profit. Other selling teams are not averse to adding someone with no sell on value either
  20. I don't particularly like him but McManus was much Improved too today
