Duncan Shearer was getting caps ahead of Coyne so I don't think that's true. Roxburgh made a lot of strange selection choices and for some reason seemed to favour Aberdeen players like Shearer, Irvine and McKimmie who were pish.
The grandparent rule levels the playing field for countries with high levels of emigration. If the SFA don't find a goalscorer from outwith Scotland it'll be another wasted decade because you can't do anything with the likes of Nesbit, Shankland, Watt, May, Kane or Clark up front.
Appreciate views on players can vary but to describe Mc Kimmie as pish!!!
Footballers I've heard speaking about Mc Kimmie regard him as one of the best full backs produced in Scotland over the last 30 years or so.

Glad he's doing well. Shows what a good loan spell can do for a player and should encourage others to come and join us.
Although he didn't score yesterday it was interesting to hear from Exeter's opponents yesterday ( Orient) that Bowman ragdolled their entire defence throughout.
No surprise.

My absolute hero. Remember as a kid telling the barber how I loved him and the barber gave me a crew cut just like him. I was at Ibrox when we beat Rangers 5-2. I think the next round when we lost to Airdrie made up his mind to leave.
Hampden 1961. Centre forward for Scotland Ian St John FP of Calder Primary CF for England Joe Baker FP of Park Street School later Cathedral primary half a mile away.
Thanks for the memories
I'm probably wrong but I had always been led to believe St John was a FP of Muir St Primary.
Happy to be corrected.

Like others just before my time but his legacy is up there with the all time greats at the club.
As our manager he increased our attendances big tim with a very exciting and attacking brand of football. I was really frustrated when he moved so soon back to England to manage Portsmouth as I felt we were fast becoming one of the best outfits in Scotland. He also brought to the club my hero of the time Peter Marinello.

Not so sure about 5th place getting Europe
Scotland will now have two sides in the UEFA Champions League Qualifying Rounds. The winners of the Scottish Premiership will enter from the Third Qualifying Round and the second placed team in this season’s Scottish Premiership will enter from the Second Qualifying Round.
In the Europa League, there will be one place granted to the winners of the 2020/21 Scottish Cup and the club will enter into the Third Qualifying Round of the competition.
The clubs who finish in third and fourth place of the Scottish Premiership will enter into the newly created UEFA Europa Conference League from the Second Qualifying Round.
The only way I can see 5th getting Europe is if any of the top 4 win the cup, then 5th might get the cup place, or 3rd gets the cup place and 4th and 5th get the conference league spots, but I can't find any info confirming that.
It is the general view that the Scottish Cup will not take place this season. Thus 5th secures a European place,

Their bubble has burst and their season is effectively over, a top six finished secured so no threat of relegation, and they won't get near the European places so nothing left to play so the performance level might drop.
All of which should favour us and if we continue playing as we have done the last 2 games then I can see a good win for us.
Calm yer jets .
5 th place secures a Euro spot. Therefore Livi have a lot to play for. Also, considering they are only 8 points behind Aberdeen and have 2 games in hand there's a chance they could get 4th.

Kelly must be in with a real shout of that Euro spot, which would be another massive feather in the cap for the club.
The only other contenders for me would be Xander Clarke or Robbie McCrorie, but I think Kelly is better than both of them.
Miles ahead of Mc Crorie.
Clarke far to erratic.
Only other possibility is Archer who showed improvement with us but now almost permanently on bench at Middlesbrough.
-
So good has Kelly been he might just push himself into contention for Scotland's 3 rs goalkeeper at the Euros. Current guy Mc Laughlin at Rangers barely gets a game .

Behave yourself.
Entirely accidental.

As Faddy said " No one left anything on the park".
Magliore, Lamie ( yes Lamie) and O'Donnell all did well.
Watt always a threat. Cole came onto a game.
But a special shout out for Crawford and Roberts. Did very well.
Grounds for encouragement.
-
Even with the passing of a day or so (and I know others have mentioned it ) but I still can't get my head around the 4-3-3 formation when we had a severely depleted defence and midfield.
Put another midfielder in place either by moving Watt into that area or pushing forward Carrol to left midfield and letting Mc Ginley go to LB.
GA should also have taken a leaf out of Robbo's book when against the same opposition earlier in the season he set us up not to lose. Outcome 1-0 to us.
-
Unsure of timeline surrounding concussion but was wondering if Mc Ginley might now be available. Could do a shift I feel at left centre back if as as we seem to believe Dec remains out.
If so, he might have to wear protective mask following his nose break

At the best of times, Saturday would be a very tough game, but with our injury list it'll be a mountain to climb. In normal times I'd be hopeful of a win but with a likely makeshift defence? Much will depend on whether Mugabi and Grimshaw make it. Hopefully no more injuries before the weekend, but with our record, I'm not holding my breath. St Johnstone will play their usual game and will try to bully and hassle us from the off as Accies did. If we can match their work rate then that will help.
Straws and grasping but I'm hoping that our chances could be helped by St Johnstone having one eye on the Leauge Cup Final the following weekend. Players rested perhaps.

Maybe we brought in guys who had trades behind them to help complete the fitting out of the East Stand. Smith's height will certainly come in useful when it comes to painting the rafters.
Don't see too many ready to provide any help on the park so far to be honest. Robinson recommendations that Alexander doesn't fancy?
Perhaps the absence of Nolan on the list suggests he is available or that he is not yet match fit.

Difficult game to come on in but how did Magloire look?
Is he our partner for Dec in a back 4?
Hoping Kelly wasn’t the only signing for the first 11?
My eyes might have been playing tricks on me but Tyler looked as though he was carrying a few extra pounds!

My battered mind takes some hope from the old saying that you learn more from defeat than winning.

Irrelevant? Really? Nobody questioned nor argued against any perceived improvement. Question was on the next step as a regular pairing - certainly not for me, mediocrity though is nailed on by some.
You miss read my point.
I made no reference to the future. You did.
Fwiw I have my doubts that they will be our first pick central defence for next season and beyond. But this is very different from the point I made namely that the two lads had improved and that there was a likely link to the arrival of the new management team.
-
Since the new management team have arrived ( both of whom were defenders) the improvement in Mugabi and it's fair to say Lamie has been marked.
Really pleased for the two boys who as we all know had been the target of some serious slagging.

Cheers pal.

Any news available on length of time out for O'Hara and what was it that happened to him?

Out of interest I wonder who recommended him as GA would have never seen him or even heard of him until today, somebody must have recommended him to GA, a very strange signing considering GA said he would not just sign players to make up numbers!!
GA when with Salford would know him I think from the Conference League .

I'd forgotten what a Pr1@k Jim Reynolds was, thanks for that.
Not my experience with him.
Jim Reynolds was the only newspaper journalist who gave an accurate account of the 'travesty'surrounding our Scottish Cup semi final defeat to Rangers in 1976 and in particular the questionable motives of the referee.
He voluntarily reaffirmed this many years later to me as did 2 broadcasting journalists who were present.
Contrast Reynolds with the other press at the time who were slavering and sychophantic towards Rangers regarding their ' win'.

Goals make all the difference to forwards...the one at Hibs was disallowed incorrectly.....the Arabs game I thought he just out muscled the defender, only 3 starts and we were unbeaten in two off them, then was off the park when we lost the late goal against Accies, he spent most of the time on the park as a late sub chasing games with another 10 players trying to get that elusive equaliser we never managed till last night.
Did he get a fair crack in a very poor/ mediocre Well team ??? .......Immaterial now he’s gone
Just heard he’s getting better money at RCVery fair summing up of White.
Although I never regarded White as a first pick he always tried his best. Could never have been easy for him getting 10 mns here and there.
Wish him well.

Missed the biggest sitter in a 'Well shirt that I've still ever seen anyone miss.
Seem to remember game was against Killie.
His ' miss' defied physics in that he and the ball where on the opponent's goal line . 'Shuggie' then somehow managed to put the ball over the bar.
Cue hysterical laughter from both sets of fans.
Motherwell fans consoled themselves with the ' I was there' satisfaction.

Also, from several sources I'm aware that his Scottish team mates think very highly of him both on and off the pitch.
Yup, he ain't Cafu but for a club of our standard we should be happy he's with us.
Then again there's no pleasing some folk!!
