Samson in goals for them. I really hope we're planning to fire in low shots and chase in for any rebounds.

One shot on target so far - for Saints.

Club Twitter reports "Motherwell lining up in a 4-4-2 formation".

Even if we win our next 2 games we will only move up 1 place at best.
It's easier to predict where we'll be if we lose our next two - rock bottom, that's where.
Let's not lose them, eh?

Livingston beating rangers 1-0 at ht! Only ht of course, but anyone expecting us to get our season back on track next weekend should readjust their expectations.
I've never been to Livingston's ground (I can't bring myself to type the abomination of its official name) but looking at it on the TV it appears that they've given three full stands over to Rangers. I can't see a single Livingston fan anywhere, although presumably they're in the fourth stand I can't see on the telly.

Well, we all know that isn't likely so as well hoping foran outcome that means problems get addressed rather than another 'unlucky' 1-0 defeat...
I realise it's the exception rather the rule, but in the last few games we've scored 3 against Dundee and 3 against Rangers, including a last gasp equaliser. But you knock yourself out there, pal.

Game over. Hopefully Aberdeen rattle in a few goals, maybe force people at the club to have a long hard look at themselves...
I thought the point was to hope your own team scored a few goals. Guess I've been doing it wrong.

So this is like the rangers semi when Bowman went in with no intent and their guy got hurt and their fans were reasonable, like us, not making a fuss about it. Did I get that right?
Almost right, but you missed the bit where they didn't make any gloating comments about how Carson and Motherwell deserved it after what that nasty Peter Hartley said about Cardosa's nose.

Hearts in the Champions League. Killie and Livi in the Europa League. Rangers in the bottom 6. Would be funny if it finished that way,
If we'd knocked three past Hamilton they'd be bottom now, and we'd be third. That's the margins at this early stage.

I hope McGregor remembers he has to face Hartley at least three more times this season. I hope that doesn't prey on his mind.
-
Hartley. Not even close to being the best player on the pitch, but Bigi's already deservedly miles clear, so Pete gets my "Man of the Match" purely for the seethe-inducing glory of that memorable last kick equaliser.

Get the MOTM thread up now and - despite plenty of other contenders - let's see if anyone has the temerity not to vote for Hartley.

Personally I feel it’s far too early to make a judgement on the squad or it’s versatility. I also don’t feel the effectiveness of his style is that open to question given last season. We did well in the league in my view and made two cup finals. Yes we lost both, but to a team head and shoulders above anyone else, even clubs on huge budgets next to ours. Along the way to the finals we beat Aberdeen, Rangers, and Hearts, the three other biggest teams in Scotland. How much more effective did his style need to be shown to be ?
Indeed. We played the top three at Hampden four times last season, won two, lost two. Speaking as someone who has to spend the best part of a grand every time I come over for a game, I believe I still got my money's worth.

Gotta think it’s bad news for Gorrin, as you would assume he was signed on the idea that Bigi would be leaving. We’ve got more midfielders than we need already and the one who we had basically written off is now hanging around seemingly. Be interesting to see if we lose either Cadden or Campbell as I can’t see any of the others bringing in bids.
I haven't seen Gorrin in person yet, but there have been a few comments to the effect that he can make a pass, while also looking handy in the tackle. Any reason why he couldn't play with Bigi rather than instead of him? (Other than this not exactly confirming to SR's "Plan A".)

There are people at the club paid for that...
Luckily, no-one on here ever second guesses those people, let alone questions their ability.

Other than Ayr United or playing them at home, I don't think we could have got a better draw.
I'm happier with Livi than Ayr.

Don't worry, we always get better in the second half, don't we?

Celtic 3 up against Dundee now, so no surprises there.
