If we're talking about the 1976 SC semi-final, then yes, it was one of the worst refereeing display of all time. Willie P chopped in the box by Greig at the Rangers End at 2-0 up, IIRC, and then a Derek Johnstone swallow dive minutes later outside the box Ā with the ref miles behind play but still able to award a penalty.
As BB says, JRP Gordon was Ā found guilty of taking a bung in a European tieĀ a littleĀ later. A few years later I encounteredĀ a 'Well player from that night who mentioned very strange events at HT. That and the 1978 3-5 game at FP merely confirmed my ultra-dim view of "The King's XI".

The sequence of the fixtures will be crucial. We don't want Ross County away as the first fixture. To be fair, none of the other 4 teams will either.
Our season isn't quite over yet.
Quite: I think when Dundee were relegated in 2005 (John Sutton was on loan with them at the time) they went downĀ because of a disastrous sequence of results after they narrowly missed getting into the top six. Pressure can build and panic ensue quickly if the first two or threeĀ gamesĀ don't produce some points. I suspect St Johnstone supporters will be particularly unsettled by RC's victory.
For once the likliehood of ourĀ having three away fixtures post-split may seem to be a good thing, given our poor home record.

Still amazing to see that, apart from The Cheeks, we are top scorers in the league. Personally I like to see our goals being spread around ratherĀ depending on a KVV-type.

Get VAR in the sea. It's costly, does not adhere to its original principle of rectifying obvious mistakes and completely spoils the match experience while we all wait around for some eagle-eyed ninny in a studio to find a reason to justify his existence. As in so many areas of modern life, common sense seems a rare commodity.
Like some commenters above, I heard people around me in the POD saying that VAR is putting them off coming to games, which is a woeful state of affairs.

I have a nagging memory of Aberdeen coming to Fir Park on a terrible run and then beating us 5-6.
I hope we avoid any complacency and give them a sair skelping.
For some reason (probably their sense of entitlement) their fans annoy me almost as much as those of The Cheeks.

Don't think it would be popular but it may be practical, at least in the short term.

They've been much encouraged by the Sky Ref of Refs apparently saying Casey should have been red-carded immediately. Frankly I'm amazed Casey wasn't off,Ā given The Perpetual Seethe at Ibrox, but the wee Rangers boy pulled out of the tackle and suffered the consequences.

I particularly remember him snidely scoffing at Alan Burrows showing footage on his laptop to the press of McGregor artfully hooking his leg around our player (can't remember who for the moment) to get a last-minute penalty to scrape a draw against us, a re-run of their pen today against Hearts.
Oily, smug and insincere are the nicest thingsĀ I can say about him and a guy who couldn't get down the M74 fast enough when Leicester came calling. Gerrard was the same but both sets of their fans think their team is the pinnacle of football and should get absolute loyalty.
Looking furrit to the match with The Sheep. I heard a podcast this afternoon from an irate Dons fan demanding Warnock be sacked and Neil LennonĀ installed right now. Let's hope they don't because, whatever you think of him, he might just do enough to pull them away from the danger zone.

Have waited to achieve a Zen-like state before posting.
So proud of my team. The angle of the "penalty' which I saw from across the box with SOD and Casey closest to the camera shows itĀ is not a penalty imo, whether SOD "went to ground''or not. That angle wasn't shown on Sportscene.
Clement whinging about Casey's tackle is pathetic deflection. If it had been bad,Ā BBC Sportscene would have analysed itĀ to buggery but they were strangely silent on the matter.
I'd like to introduce everyone at Rangers Central to my little friend, Gerd T. Fƶkk, with knobs on.

Perhaps a two-edged sword playing Celtic in their current dodgy form.Ā Fir Park isĀ a great place to come when you're on a poor run and if we lose one of our traditional, early goals from a stupid defensive mistakeĀ it could be a long, painful and sickeningĀ afternoon.
And yet, and yet, I'm not without theĀ hope that we couldĀ upset themĀ IFĀ we could just score first and get in their faces (or the other way around). I know three Celtic fans who are pretty nervous about Sunday and IĀ wonder if they would turn against Mr PermatanĀ Smarm if we could get our noses in front.
Of course, the referee doesn't fill me with confidence and I'm sure VAR will make an unwanted intervention at a crucial moment if necessary but my imaginary friend Harvey says I'm goingĀ onnyhoo so Tongs, Ya Bass!

My first season was 1963 (unfortunately I missed bothĀ St John and Quinn). It's very, veryĀ difficult to gauge relative levels of playing excellence or even competence over the last sixty years (gulp!)Ā but we were very poor when relegated in the late 60s (watch the YT vid of our defeat at Dens Park that year for example) and when we spent three years in the second division (along with Hearts). Can't imagine what people would have said then if there had been social media.
No point in listing the many lows and disappointments since thenĀ but I was given hope by last Tuesday night's victory and still think we will scrape up this year. The whole of Scottish football is circling the drain, though, mainly because of the perennial incompetence of our footballing authorities and the colossal finanncial imbalance in the UK caused by the huge amounts of money pumped into the game down south, including gambling industry money (which I findĀ particularlyĀ disgusting since it exploits the most desperate in our society).
Given that, I'm not sure what kind of qualityĀ players we can afford to attract to a fan-owned club of about 4,500 hard-core fans without some rich investor chipping the odd million in. It can work for Hearts because they have a large support but we're trapped like many in an economic bind. Best we can hope for short of a Sugar Daddy is unearthing a Turnbull or MilllerĀ occasionally who will then be snapped up for relatively small change when the time comes. Loanees are a short-term option whichĀ may tide you overĀ but can bite you on the bum, as we saw with Mika.
Perhaps after about forty years in the top flight our time has finally come and the bullet can no longer be dodged but I don't actually think so. I appreciate thatĀ the brave souls who travel from far away may be close to breaking point after so much disappointment and some of it may be age-related, although I have two neighbours in the POD who remember Baldy Shaw and Andy Paton and theyĀ still seem up for it. Admittedly, they are locals and I doubt I would be travelling regularly down to FP if I lived in Perth or Inverness and we all have to decide what's worthwhile for us and our families.
Living in Hamilton, I'll be there next year if we go down, if onlyĀ to avoid going around Asda on the weekly shop or watching endless re-runs of Midsomer Murders on the TV. Also, I hear theĀ FP chicken chasni pies are good, although at my age I don't think I'll risk them.
I think wellgirl's positivity has rubbed off on me too. She seeems to haveĀ been through a lot for a a young person already yet still shows great commitment both to her studies and the club.
Keep the faith if you possibly can, dossers.

Yes, it ended well eventually but we struggled for quite a time before TM gradually sorted things out on a shoestring budget. IIRC there wasĀ oneĀ game in particular when ageing warhorse Andy Harrow was paired up front with baby-faced Andy Walker, so short we were of suitable players. There was a lot of discontent from the fans at the time.

As some of the older/vintageĀ fans have said, it would take a lot to beat Wallace or Hynd, although Bobby Watson comes very close š±š±š±.
