  1. I mean at that moment in time he handled the situation with dignity , nobody would have been expecting anything different to be fair from any manager in our history. The worst day I have ever had at Fir Park. Nothing is close I was referring to the way he disregarded travelling fans off at Falkirk the following season. He just here to manage the team , not please the fans The comments about managing Liverpool , silly as they were . Nobody truly believed it what he was saying Various other things of course
  2. Very true. It was a mistake ever bringing Mark McGhee back second time around I am no fan of him either , the way he handled the Uncle Phil tragedy he has my biggest respect on that forever . Some of his silly stupid comments in the years later stick in the mind Was almost a relief when he left first time and dare I say it Jim Gannon came in. Now that is someone else who could split opinion lol
  3. True , I remember that St Mirren game . The infamous game when people through the season tickets on Remember speaking to one Well fan I worked with on the day Malpas left He had been watching the team pre Tommy McLean era and was absolutely scunnered to the fact he didn't want to watch anymore 2007/2008 was much better
  4. Malpas along with Paul Hegarty as assistant was quite possibly the worst in my whole time following Motherwell , that season was a total disaster it was actually a relief for me when McGhee took over first time
  5. Duped at the highest level Hopefully no other Well fan will be as silly
  6. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Motherwell-F-C-Steelmens-Gigi-Romano/dp/1923484052/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3QVDZU61JZ48F&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Z_GU6J9En2AV05pqInJzaFc_Clw7Sa3GZuOOvcq1lc3GjHj071QN20LucGBJIEps.9NeTRrCcXsKd_MkTaWXT5gPd2mqve6Z58-aehsWZc7M&dib_tag=se&keywords=steelmen+legacy+motherwell&qid=1750501826&sprefix=steelmen+legacy+motherwell%2Caps%2C76&sr=8-1 If this new book pops up on anyone's Amazon avoid it like the plague, seriously I am a lover of anything Well related either official or unofficial if it was published by a fan I took a chance on this and was really disappointed The whole book is a joke from start to finish We won our first Scottish Cup in 1931, wrong straight away . Our 3rd Scottish cup win was 1991 which was 4-3 against Aberdeen in the final Alex McLeish was our manager from 1990-1996, in that time he won not just the Scottish cup in 1991 but a cup double in the same season. He won the league cup in 1991 beating Rangers 2-1 in the final We played in europe in 2007 against a team called Bate Borisov ??? More recently we beat Celtic at Fir Park with Kevin Van Veen scoring a double, Liam Kelly pulled off a few good saves that day Not even fit to go to a charity shop in my opinion, shocking indeed
  7. Bradford have produced some very nice kits down the years The 1999/2001 home and away when they were in the Premier League were classics
  8. Might be a good time to get Rangers first game of the season
  9. Funny enough I ended up in Wetherspoons today, days off. but was the one in Motherwell of course 🤣 It took me back to 2005 for some reason. The old place hasn't changed at all but the reason I say 2005 is I got in some disagreement with a guy about Gerry Britton for some reason after he signed lol . I was giving him the benefit of the doubt of course That was a short lived one looking back now 😄
  10. Sorry to see Ahmet leaving I didn't honestly think he would be staying on realistically though Maybe new Assistant manager to Michael Wimmer
  11. I am fully behind the new manager No idea who he was really , he played for Norwich under Paul Lambert so must have at least a bit of a knowledge of UK football We have not been a great watch really for at least 4-5 years now with the exception of KVV scoring goals for fun in those last 3 months, and Theo Bair's half season . I heard someone suggest few days ago we should have appointed either Craig Levein or Mark McGhee , the second guy got a second chance and we seen what happened
  12. Welcome to the club Jens Hopefully do us a turn 🤞
  13. Absolutely 100 percent I would prefer any manager who has no history to either of the Glasgow clubs . But fully would be supportive to any who have as we never know what could happen Terry Butcher was one of my favourites and I have said it before. For anyone with any doubt he took on the role when we were at our lowest. After the 2002-2003 season when we should have been relegated he done great for us The one time I remember when fans were all getting behind us, was like an Us vs the rest of Scottish football mentality at that time
  14. One rumour I did hear recently is our chairman has been in Albania speaking to a potential candidate No idea if it is true or not but if so maybe explains the silence about the next guy
  15. Speedy recovery for Ian Baraclough hopefully Wishing the guy all the best
  16. Just the type of player Scotland have been needing , albeit against not the best of teams but who cares Faddy was very complimentary towards Lennon
  17. Roberto Martinez and Portugal 2-2 with Spain , and extra time now in the final
  18. Do not think it will be Richard Foster either Mentioned this last week if Wimmer had left during a season Foster would no doubt be a contender In true Well style I think it will be someone nobody has predicted
  19. I definitely think we will have a new manager in place before pre -season starts . Most likely by the end of this week we will hear something
  20. Steve Clarke as the new lead singer of Fleetwood Mac Billy Davies the new Well manager , equally pish of course 😂
  21. Our own Ian St John would have been 87 today Legend at both my clubs Motherwell and Liverpool. Wish I could have seen the great man play live Saint and Greavsie also growing up was classic TV
  22. Sure Steve Clarke did almost get the job in 2010 before McCall got the gig . He mentioned this at one point The media at that time were also predicting Alan Stubbs would get the job
  23. I am a Scotland fan , and been fully supportive of Steve Clarke Time for a new approach I think , and give the younger generation a better chance
  24. I am in this minority, while I think our band round the front , and sometimes back is iconic and part of tradition I don't think there is anything wrong with making it look a little bit different from time to time. Biggest thing for me is we always maintain the Claret and Amber One of my favourite kits in recent seasons was the 22-23 home kit , and I know at the time there was plenty of others who didn't like it
