  1. I definitely don’t hate the guy , I just wouldn’t want the baggage, but at the same time I could say the same about the likes of Barry Ferguson The guy has a lot of people in this country who don’t like him for purely bigoted reasons that I never agree with , do remember Craig Brown saying he is a likeable guy and I know he has suffered from a lot of mental health issues in the past Being honest now if he got us a half decent team to watch maybe all the past is forgotten, and if he beats Rangers a few times so much the better , I don’t believe he is even interested in the job though and it is simply Craggs putting his name forward
  2. Not Lennon for me , too much baggage involved there and would bring unwanted publicity to the club Nothing to do with the Celtic connection either
  3. Seen Big Dunc was on sky last night and said he has been waiting for a managerial job coming up , I don’t think for a minute it will be him as I seem to remember him saying he never would play or manage in Scotland and had an issue with the SFA but wouldn’t be surprised either if he ends up in Scotland one day I am sure there is going to be a decision before the Aberdeen game and tbh I honestly think it is probably going to be someone unexpected, probably not been mentioned
  4. This is exactly my thoughts as well , as much as I liked McCall who did an excellent job overall I have no doubt if he had stayed on that season we would have lost those playoff games . In the cup game a few seasons before he had us beaten before a ball was kicked with a very negative outlook when most were tipping us for a win
  5. Prefer our managers to be ones that haven’t played for either Celtic or Sevco if we can avoid it, while I will of course still get behind them the sooking up to them can get really annoying at times Stuart McCall was the prime example of this
  6. Could do worse than Paul Lambert in my opinion, plenty of experience If we win on Saturday though Stevie must be in with a great shout
  7. Hopefully not Darren O’Dea Last time the Well gave him a job he left months later to go back to Celtic
  8. Glad to get 3 points from that game, against a side who have been a bit of a bogey team for us in the past , was convinced after the sending off they would score in injury time Liam Kelly saved us on a number of occasions Would be quite happy if Hammell is still in charge next weekend which I think he will be
  9. Definete penalty, and what a save from Kelly
  10. Robbo due on Sportsound in the next few minutes to talk about the speculation
  11. I would be absolutely shocked if Robinson ends up back as manager so quickly Wouldnt say I would be against the idea either, but definetly feel a fresh approach is needed at this moment in time Something completly different from recent reasons
  12. Someone in my work as well earlier asked me if I thought Billy Davies as well would be a good shout, unsure of that one though I have this video in my head now Not Motherwell related in any way
  13. Heard Duncan Ferguson being mentioned a few times, in my opinion we could do worse as he has plenty coaching experience at Everton and left that position as he is desperate for a manager job though at the same time no doubt would be unpopular choice with some , I think Hammell will be a safe pair of hands in the short term, nobody knows the club better Hopefully not the usual candidates like Jim Duffy, Neil McCann, Billy Dodds etc
  14. I found this strange also , surprised by the fact he moved to Turkey when not settled here, definetly more to that one I think
  15. I was sitting on the fence to see how things go, had my doubts in the second half of last season though definitely in the Alexander out brigade now, I don’t think it is all down to him though if he stays in charge I can see a long struggle to avoid relegation this year Expect St Mirren to get a result at the weekend as I can sense Robbo will have St Mirren fired up for this game
  16. Quite happy with this draw, but no doubting this is going to be a very tough game
  17. Another one of my favourite games , Faddy was sensational that day I still think back to the 4-3 defeat to Rangers in the Scottish cup semi final that season thinking if only Clarkson had put that chance away to make it 3-1 just before half time we would have won that, remember being disappointed losing but bursting with pride we had gave such a good account of ourselves that day and would have been in with a good shout against Dundee in that years final
  18. Glad this inspired you, I found your channel through a recent Facebook post and have been watching the uploads on a daily basis The 6-1 against Hearts was a great favourite of mine also , along with the 2-1 v Celtic and 1-0 v Rangers in the same season The start of the 02/03 season we were in dire straits yet despite a lot of poor results that season there was a definite fighting spirit in that side
  19. I see where you are coming from with this In 2017/2018 and 2019/2020 we won all 4 group games, which can only build confidence Might not have the glamour of a euro tie, but as you rightly point out the euro ties you mentioned all ended in defeat which doesnt build confidence
  20. Best team won on the night, was a result that I am not too surprised about , and as an earlier post mentioned I believe Sligo would beat half the sides in our league also Once again the fans turned up in a big game, and the players didnt. Has been happening all too often in the last 10 years or so, playoffs and the two cup runs in 2017/2018 aside Hopefully we get a result in Ireland next week and turn this around but not too confident that will be the case
  21. Dont get me wrong, St Mirren are not a team I have ever liked really for one reason Because every time we play down there we always seem to struggle and has been this way for a long time I would be happy enough for them to be in the championship for this reason alone, happy for Robbo to do well though along with Lasley, Carson etc, not Gallagher though of course When it comes right down to it I dont have any real dislike for any of the teams in the league with the exception of the obvious two teams in Glasgow The Bigots vs the Other Bigots Never been fond of Aberdeen, though at the same time if they had a strong team like the 80s and won titles ahead of the old firm I could get behind them , same with either of the Edinburgh clubs despite the fact they can annoy me when Well play them Dont mind Dundee united, Killie, St Johnstone , Livingston and a few others at all tbh as I see them as being similar to us
  22. Poor result for St Mirren though Arbroath definetly a good side and still underrated in my opinion Will be happy to see St Mirren do well this year as long as they dont finish higher than us
  23. Great result that day Motherwell undefeated in 1994 against Celtic who have still to win a match in the new year
  24. Was definetly the case, it was Chris Robinson at the time and this had annoyed John Boyle so much To be fair Billy Davies was spot on, should have been called off before it had started Here is another favourite of mine from the same era, Was at this game at Tannadice and was Big Don Goodman's debut The Well were excellent on this day
  25. The Pat Nevin goal against Hearts was one that sticks in the mind also, what also sticks in my mind more was the original game that was abandoned Found the footage on youtube uploaded by a Hearts fan, I remember it being horrid conditions that day, I fast forwarded it to the half time part and the conditions look shocking Interesting that Pat Nevin himself claims he played in worse with us winning 1-0 at the time , Billy Davies looks like he is going to explode and even remember this being featured on BBC breakfast news the next morning with John Boyle annoyed Anyway we won the rearranged game 2-1 which was an 8 game unbeaten run before christmas
