  1. Yes I remember now , Don Goodman scored a double at Tannadice in the white kit , same one as the 5-6 game against the Dons Remember McCulloch being linked with Hearts also , Hearts were very keen to sign him at that time
  2. It was a home game , after the original one was abandoned at half time . Both teams wore away kits that night
  3. Indeed he did , watched this game on YouTube recently If memory is correct we played in it twice , both against Hearts then changed to a white strip for the rest of the season
  4. The new away kit is fine by me . If people associate with the sash or Rangers who cares . And if next season Well bring out a claret and amber hooped top associated with Celtic , or of course Accies who cares also Most important thing for me is we have at least a bit of claret and amber associated with any top home or away What i wasn’t a fan of is the likes of this below , the thing which made it even worse was no badge and just the MFC lettering
  5. Buzzing for the new season , can’t wait Beats all this Wimbledon stuff etc New top good too
  6. Two of McLeish’s last signings if I remember right , again moved on pretty quickly
  7. Remember this Scott Thomson game , I took both a Rangers fan and a Celtic fan to Fir Park , friends at school in the Cooper Stand . Was the day Celtic stopped 10 in a row Both listening to headsets of course , and I was on the park at full time with many others I actually got hit on the side of the head by Tommy Coyne’s Boots when he threw them to a fan , last game Looking back I remember being well chuffed I got so close to the legend that was TC
  8. Best of luck Richard Tait Very decent player in my opinion
  9. Stephen Halliday , a signing from 1998 who I spoke to very briefly, and seemed a very decent guy Another signing who made little impact in the Kampman era and moved on quite quickly
  10. I was disappointed when he left the Well in 2010 , done an excellent job with Archie Knox in that year Watched him on YouTube with Si Ferry recently, think it was from 3/4 years ago . He was a great storyteller and the type of guy you could listen to easily
  11. Was the home game against Odense , I think that season was our best chance ever of getting to a Euro group stage Missed a penalty that night , and hit the post . Murphy if I remember right
  12. Yes it was assistant manager to Willie McLean
  13. Just heard the sad news Best Scotland manager in my lifetime , a great year at the Well in 2010 also and dragged us from Gannon’s mess to a 12 game unbeaten run and that unforgettable 6-6 Hibs game among others Should never have left when he did in my opinion , but worked out not too bad at all with wee Stuart
  14. The form he was in I have no doubt he would have continued to score Was hoping as well he would be here at least til the end of the transfer window and banged in a few more league, and cup goals by then
  15. Totally agree , Kevin will be missed for sure Will always remember the last 3 months of this season especially
  16. All the best King Kevin You will definitely be missed at Fir Park
  17. Happy enough for Obika to sign on for another season . Good player for St Mirren and definetly not seen the best of him yet
  18. Definetly will be an interesting read , there is at least a good 140 pages Motherwell related Interesting as well that in 1998 Owen Coyle was the other contender for the manager along with wee Billy On the subject of Gascoigne/Cooper also , two great players in Scottish football, Gazza was indeed done in 2000 and would have been a costly mistake Definetly biased towards the Coop though for obvious reasons
  19. Quite happy for Liam Kelly to be the Well goalie much longer , he has made some blunders though few and far between compared with the saves to keep us in certain games . Could end up with worse
  20. My copy came in today , and looks like there is a lot of Well related stuff in this The unfortunate death of youth player Andy Thomson in 1998 , talks about the late Andy Goram as well and the build up to the 7-1 defeat against Glasgow’s other mob
  21. Seem to remember there being some fall out between Jim Griffin and wee Billy , but can’t remember what the story was He ended up at Motherwell College doing sport and fitness not long after as he was my mates tutor
  22. https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/12184755.well-drop-gazza-bid/
  23. One we were linked with I remember was Gazza . Sure I remember it was quoted we would use some of the gate receipts to fund the deal , was never ever happening . Ended up at Everton a few weeks later
