It started with something that has summed up Campbell this season who was really poor, he would never have lost that 12 months ago.

I would imagine location wise we would be in a good position to sign Foley over county.

I must admit that feel good feeling has been a long time coming, very sweet now it’s arrived. I didn’t see the game so can’t comment but it has to be a huge confidence boost for the team. The margin between success and failure in most games this season has just been so small, so many teams that are all of a similar standard and even a couple of changes in personnel can swing it in anyone’s favour. The other massive thing is confidence, we don’t have a terrible squad, we never did but confidence had dropped and you can see that starting to turn around. Maybe Cole is now showing he’s the guy to score those goals alongside the hardworking Watt. I know Carroll is not everyone’s cup of tea but my god it’s good to have him back and thankfully we now have a reliable goalkeeper. I hold my hand up regarding Mugabi who is improving game on game ( who would have thought a professional coaching staff knew more than the likes of me). I like McGuire but have had my doubts about him in midfield, hey maybe I’m also wrong about that but would still like to see another midfield brought in, at least until Donnally returns and I see the signing of Lawless as another positive. I’ve still absolutely no doubt we can get out if this ( but then I still think we would have under Robinson). What I will say is Alexander is coming across really well and I like the amount of support he’s giving to the players in his interviews, yes you can argue he’s talking up the performances but it has to be giving the players a lift.

The plus will be Donnelly returning.

Onwards and upwards, never write off the well. Now to read back some of the earlier posts.

Makes sense

I think people also need to be realistic in their expectations. It’s the January window and we won’t be signing stand out players from other Premiership clubs. There are probably a good eight teams in our division all looking at the same type of players at the moment, that’s just the way it is. It’s either this type of player at our level, someone at Championship level who looks promising and that won’t even be easy, or the lower leagues down south.

I could see the guy from St Mirren actually being a decent signing. He was their player of the season and most supporters don’t have a bad word to say about him. I would think the Covid lay-off may have effected him but you don’t go from player of the season to past it in six months, the guy is 34 not 44, there are plenty of players at that stage still playing in the English Premier league.

I think we’ve been doomed that many times over the last three years I’ve given up counting, we’ve always proved people wrong. The point he’s making is yes we’ve had a poor season, yes we need strengthening, but we’re nowhere near relegated. People make the doomsday predictions way to early.
-
I would rather the club just announce signings when they are completed, rumours don’t particularly help the club. We have to just have faith in the new managers judgement and he feels there is plenty of quality still in the squad.
-
Over Robinson’s Tenure he did do a good job, the stats don’t lie including his win percentage.
-
The problem is the whole midfield, name one midfield players that’s had a good season ? We badly miss Donnelly who is far more of an influence than he’s given credit for. We were fine last season when he played even without Turnbull.
-
Jake Mulraney for Hearts back end of 2019
-
I would add a lack of confidence, Campbell and Gallagher have hardly got started this season, they are both living on previous seasons in my view, let’s be honest on this seasons form Campbell would get little interest from anyone.
-
Well he seems to keep proving everyone wrong. Sadly it’s been obvious for a long time that he’s way out of his depth, pure speed can only get you so far, he’s simply not got a footballing brain I’m afraid.

The thing is anyone can state that a team did better against another team, they did better against Aberdeen, we did better against Rangers, just the way it is. People say it’s a relegation team, I just think with a couple of addition it’s not. Results would back that up but I don’t think results will remain that bad, I just think we’ve hugely underperformed. The defence and goalkeeper should be about the best in the division outside the old firm for a start, of course we lost half of that for most of the season up to this point. We have also lost a very influential midfield all season who I believe would have made a difference. Just my opinion.
-
How did we ?
-
Yep, next two game are big. Ross County got a doing today which is not a bad thing.
-
Don’t agree, we were well in it for long periods, another appalling ref decision against us today, it’s becoming a habit. They are a top three team and we more than matched them, we were the better team first half last week against the best team in the league. There is still quality in the squad but again we lose a new player to injury, that’s just bad luck. I would hope with another one or two signings we will be fine.
-
Well not the best of days.
-
Sadly we’re on a terrible run of ref decisions going against us, seems to always be the way when a team is struggling.
-
Clearly he feels not.
-
God we have had no luck with injuries this season.
-
Probably best to just accept changing manager is not going to change the clubs policy on where they see the market for players.
-
Delighted on the Carroll extension, he will hopefully only get better. Can we maybe give a Harry Smith a chance, other clubs were obviously interested so he must have something about him.
