    Big Dec

Does that not apply to most of the Scotland squad.
  2. For me it depends what level we are calling higher, he certainly has ability and when he plays well, we tend to play well. He did however have games last season including the Accies one where he was pretty poor, a few others in the team are slated but he generally gets a free pass, I think because he’s come through the academy.
  3. At the time I think the comment was that he was looking less than committed, maybe had a slight injury. I think when it comes to Campbell some people give him far more leeway than other players get.
  4. If I remember rightly Campbell was having a terrible game.
  5. I think that’s probably the biggest issue I have with the post. Robinson has managed at the club since what 2017 ? Of course he’s had an influence in the further development of players including giving debuts in the first team while constantly managing that development, when they play, the expectations and pressure they are under, the support any young player need when they step up. In the case of Hastie when he went out on loan and to which club, other players have been loaned out over that period. We have no idea if the same level of success would have been achieved under another manager but we know Robinson achieved it and successfully brought those players through at a crucial time. Now I’ve never managed a Premiership team but I’m guessing it’s not that easy. I’m part of a three man management team in a project and we manage a team of 17 individuals, all have different personalities and just about all come with challenges at one time or another, the logistics of running a project is easy, managing people is not, it’s never plain sailing. I can only imagine how difficult it is managing a group of highly paid individuals, all, trying to take each others place in the first 11 and many with inflated egos.
  6. I could counter just about everything but it would not change your opinion so I really don’t see the point. You would just swear a lot to prove you’re right.
  7. And these are the actual facts that need to be taken into account when any thought’s of letting Robinson go are taken into account. Forget the fact that a minority of fans have always wanted rid of him, he had a remit and he’s met it and some. I would question how many other manager’s that we could both tempt, and indeed afford could match that record with us on our budget. I’ve always been of the opinion that the grass is rarely greener on the other side and as such be careful what you wish for. He was wanted sacked by a few on here right back as far as 2017, Since then he’s guided is to two very comfortable seasons and we’ve made millions on players, no other club at our level can match that. He’s not perfect, no perfect manager would be managing Motherwell, they all have weaknesses, but he knows the club and is trusted at board level, on top of that he’s clearly a good man manager judging by the feedback of previous players and their recommendation to others to join us. Players have returned to us simply because of Robinson. I would agree with Kmac that the worst thing is doing nothing and I would take the option to now use some of the transfer money to sign a couple of players we might not otherwise be able to afford, I would retain Robinson as in my view he’s done enough to be given that opportunity. All managers have a sell by date but in my view that does not yet apply to Robinson.
  8. If you look at the bit I highlighted in your post.
  9. You see my definition of out of our depth would be those teams taking us to the cleaners and that’s simply not the case. I would argue in the first game against Ross County that overall we were also the better team. I would also argue that the real world is taking each season separately, every team changes a percentage of players each season. We were the forth highest goalscorers in the league last season with the same strikers and same midfielders so nothing to suggest that would be a problem. I would personally have signed another centre half and right back but to be fair we now have the right back, we’ve simply been unlucky on the left hand side. For me there was nothing to suggest we would struggle this season, very strong midfield and what looked like plenty of options up front, my worry was the defence which is actually turning out to be the least of our worries, with Carroll and McGinn to come back we will be fine ( but I would still like to see another centre half in the Aldred mould.
  10. I tend to look on it on a season by season basis, just the same way that a strong finish to a season means nothing the next season. This season has not been close to good enough, but it’s been small margins looking at it on a game by game basis, individual mistakes and opportunities missed. We are not performing like a team that’s out of it’s depth by any means in my view, but we do need to cut out the mistakes and put the ball in the back of the new more often. St Johnstone next game up is very important, we need a win and we don’t want moral to drop.
  11. Pretty much everything up until this season. To sack a manager with his record, on our budget would have been pretty daft. Last season he outperformed every other manager at clubs on our level and one or two at a level above including the man you have mentioned as replacing him. His time will come in the end as it does with every manager, it always ends up about results, but we are not at that point yet.
  12. You wanted him out in 2017 Yodo, I’m not sure you’re judgement is that sound.
  13. Too early to be thinking of getting rid of Robinson.
  14. In my view it’s way too early to be talking about relegation battles, the season has only just started. Fair enough if we are still bottom at Christmas, we could easily be midtable by then.
  15. Sadly I wished I shared your optimism, I’m expecting a right doing.
  16. I thought he actually did pretty well given he was new to the team.
  17. Yep, you can argue if we are bottom we deserve to be there ( Statistical fact), but we should most definitely have gained more points. There are things that can be improved on but it’s still been small margins between gaining and not gaining points, it’s not as though we are getting thrashed and outplayed in games. It’s very easy given the start we’ve had to start to start panicking and call for an upheaval but for me that’s something that needs to be looked at another half a dozen games down the line. For now it should be stay calm, get past the Celtic game with something if we can and then look for that first win. I’m still confident that Robinson will turn it around if he’s given time.
  18. To be honest to a degree we already know. The wide areas and supply from that area are a disaster, I would get rid of all our wide players if possible bar Lang ( I know it’s not that easy). We need Carroll back as soon as possible along with another centre half in my view. We then have the debate on a central striker with an eye for goal and just how much the loss of Turnbull will impact. I’d be amazed if the Celtic game is anything other than a heavy defeat, they will be stinging from the criticism from Lennon and will batter us.
  19. To be fair a couple on here give him a run for his money. Anyway a moral boosting first win of the season thank goodness.
  20. The minute it was announced he was signed by Celtic that was always going to happen. It was stated we would be screwed by Celtic before a deal was even done and as such a few won’t accept anything other than that belief regardless. I’m guessing even if the full figures are disclosed that won’t change.
