Went for Just again. Said it before but his energy levels are incredible. Great ball for the first. Whole defence played well. Watt great again and cracker of a goal. Maswanhise with a great one on one finish, could have done with that at Ibrox. Think Said is fitting in to the team well now, could be a real asset for us. No failures really.

Great win, good performances all over the park. Probably like a lot of Well fans, felt like we owed them one. Game started they way St Mirren would have wanted it to but as someone used to say, "we earned the right to play". Thought we actually competed better than them for the majority of the game. Couple of cracking goals and could have been more. Another game where the opposition have said that's their worst performance of the season, funny that.

VAR KMI panel outcome for our penalty claim at Ibrox: The majority (2:1) of the panel agreed that the on-field decision of no penalty was incorrect and therefore the final outcome decsion of no penalty was incorrect. However, the majority (2:1) of the panel agreed it didn't meet threshhold of VAR intervention. So the majority thought it should have been awarded but also a majority vote that it wasn't a clear and obvious error so the referee was not asked to have another look?

Just for me. Incredible energy after Saturday. If he could find a finish it would be worth about another 10 points a season. Brilliant how he gets himself in front of people when it seems possession is lost. Special mentions for McGinn, O'Donnell and Watt. Great to see Said get his first (official) goal as well.

Never seen us so comfortable against Celtic over a full game and that's since the 80's . Absolute domination. A few better decisions away from making it even more comfortable. Incredible we were able to do it and put so much in a few days after all the effort put in at Ibrox, and without our top scorer.

Ward. Spilled a shot early on but outstanding from there on.
-
Welsh for me. Hoping Celtic take the view he does well for Motherwell but....., and don't recall him in January. Hoping. Just was the pick of the rest.
-
Didn't quite click today too many loose and overhit passes. You could feel the frustration building but we stuck with it and got what we deserved. One of those games where, poor as Dundee were, a mistake by us or a lucky break for them could have put the 3 points their way. Defended solidly again for the most part.
-
Johnny K for me. Thought he defended well and a threat going forward, especially second half. Also done great to cut out a Livingston break in the first. SOD came close. Great shift, few mistakes with throw ins apart, and nearly on the end of a chance late on. Special mention as well to Charles-Cook, who I think needs more minutes. Persisted all game and great assist for the 3rd.

I was a bit worried about this game beforehand and thought Livingston looked a really stuffy side at times to begin with. Good finish from Watt to go one up but not really comfortable until the second. Livingston had a few flurries at 2-0 but good move to seal it and could have been more late on. Most pleasing thing for me was the amount of changes we can make, taking account of the of the opposition, and no real drop off on performance. Positive result next week, home game against Dundee then the old squirm to end the year. Hoping for a good month and maybe a real special season. Onwards and upwards!

A good performance in general but thought Welsh completely strolled it. Hope we can keep him beyond January. Watt, Just and McGinn also contenders.

Enjoyed that yesterday, decent entertainment for a nil nil and another good performance. Disappointing not to win it, only lacked a bit of ruthless finishing but made good chances against league leaders. Great to see a five figure crowd against non OF opposition.

Has to be Priestman. Looked solid and composed all night. Fitted in as though he had been playing all season.
-
Brilliant night, not one failure. Thought Priestman was outstanding. Great to be ahead and hardly feel at any point they were getting back in the game. If I'm being greedy, which I am, another goal or two would have been no more than we deserved.

League Cup Semi Motherwell v St Mirren 1/11/2025

Really disappointing. Weren't good enough at both ends while having the best of possession. Thought they just seemed more up for it than us and made less mistakes. 4-1 still flattered them a bit, just seemed they took near enough every chance that came thier way. -
Very difficult choice between Slattery, Fadinger and Watt. Went for Slattery in the end.
-
Had the fear it would be Falkirk all over again at some points after dominating in the first half. Brilliant to see that second goal go in and a great 3 points.
-
Have to agree with respect to VAR scope. Can't remember who said it before but I think the best way I have heard it put is in Scotland VAR is being used to find pebbles when it's boulders it should be identifying.
-
Thought Said was outstanding, particularly in the first half.
-
Struggling to remember two contrasting half's in a game, probably 2-0 up HT at home to Patrick in the 90's and losing 3-2 . Gutting to take nothing, should have been at least 2 or 3 up in the first half, not seen Said's "goal" back yet. Was actually thinking we had a good chance if running up a score in the second half. Worrying how easily we were picked open after half time and how poorly we respond to the opposition stepping things up. Thought Ap Stam was unlucky with the hand ball, the way it came at him off Bain.
-
Could easily have went for Watt or Welsh but thought O'Donnell looked assured all game with some nice touches in tight positions and going forward unfortunately the latter didn't come off. Whole defence looks fairly solid recently, pity Welsh won't be available at Celtic. Ap Stam put a great shift in but a lot just didn't come off for him, hopefully things will start to click for him.
-
Brilliant 3 points, was actually settling for a draw after the chances we missed and they missed a couple of chances late on. Joe Lewis back at Aberdeen as goalie coach? Glad to see Ap Stam put away the penalty, wouldn't like to think what it would have done for his confidence had he missed it.
-
Midfield all done well today but Just edged it for me. Busy all game and impressed how he wins back possession against bigger opponents. Longelo and SOD also stood out today.
-
Really disappointing not to win that, better team by a mile. No getting past it, Ward mistake cost us 2 points. Just hope we can sharpen up in the final third to the extent these mistakes don't cost us. Thought there were a lot of good performances and Priestman looked very comfortable immediately after coming on.

McLeish, Brown, McCall and McGhee were good for spells but for me it has to be Tommy McLean for how he improved us over time and obviously the only trophy I have seen us lift. Worst would be between Malpas, Kampman and, sorry to say it, Hammell.
