bit optimistic - you think we'll score
-
can build on that - how many players do we sign with a vague reference to their position eg 'can play anywhere in defence ' 'great midfield player and can play in defence' Trev is a great goal keeper and potential target man up front. This stuff takes the jam out my donut
-
O'Hara ,Tanner would be added to the list but your point remains valid.

A decent, good honest pro and thoroughly nice fella . He just ran out of ideas and from memory he had his budget sliced. I don't think he'd move us forward - he's been back to Bradford a few times over and never really progressed them.
-
He's not been given a proper opportunity and not played games. Personal view is there's a huge difference between fit and match sharpness. I'd like to see us move to 4 men in midfield and play Hastie on the left - it also gives the left back some protection which we've missed. (appreciate Hastie isn't a fans favourite but he's the best winger we have)
-
does that include games we didn't play but got 3 points for ?
-
When I read the line up I wondered who would create chances - we only have one creative player in our entire squad and we don't play him. Not saying he's Messi but FFS our lack of creative approach through midfield is a disgrace .

Having to revert to Ohara in defence is a sad reflection and completely calls out how poor signings have been We have 10 defenders listed in our first team squad. Ohara played well in defence but our midfield is light. Personal view is we need to bolster the midfield and have at least 4 men in there.
-
We had Turnbull back and got to 3rd without him. Personally had high expectations - Long was back who did quite well, Campbell, Turnbull, Hastie in midfield. Sadly it's been brutal - not the league position but the style of play is horrific.
-
Stickers need opportunities - which should come from creative midfield or wingbacks that get up to the line. We offer very little as an attacking force. Long/Lang/Watt can all finish but they need service
-
Suspect this season we'll end up somewhere between 6th-8th position - cant see a top 6. Personally don't see Mugabi every being good enough .
-
cant believe Lamie's not playing - he's not put a foot wrong.
-
great outcome. Hard to believe we're now 5th as it's not been a pleasant on the eye season. Be great to see us kick on and start playing some decent footy.
-
Personal view is Carrol is a much better left back than either Lamie or McGinley have shown. (hopefully he'll be back soon) I don't believe that Lamie is good enough, McGinley I have serious doubts over and same for Mugabi , who although much improved causes us goals through poor positioning and needless mistakes. This years defensive signings have not proven to better than the existing squad.

agree - take pride that we helped develop Gallagher to this level and somewhat lucky to land ODonnell for a short period of time. possible to keep both til the end of the season - that would be decent.

Was looking back to Tommy Mcleans time in charge and pretty much every season we took points either win or draws against the old firm. The gap isn't any bigger between the clubs now as it was then but we regularly managed to take some points, yes we got cuffed occasionally but nothing like the regular pumpings we now take. Can't be too much to expect a draw or win every 5-6 games against them. Our approach to how to tackle teams is poor, it's a one size fits all.
-
completely agree. losing 4 + goals is the norm . Long gone are the days of where we parked up and frustrated the old firm. It wasn't pleasant viewing but nor is getting pumped with so much ease.
-
playing 3 up front against the old firm is naive. Noting wrong with getting 10 men behind the ball and frustrating them.
-
Shame it's not working out for him, can appreciate why he wanted to give something a go, it wen't well at Oxford. Wouldn't be against seeing him return to FP.
-
hopefully this forces us into a back 4. put 4 in midfield - 2 to move forward + 2 to stay back with. Lang/Watt up front.
-
spot on. The international deadline is today but they have until 16th Oct to make domestic transfers.
-
no need to worry folks we have Grimmy, Crawford and Maguire who'll slot into midfield - what's everyone so worried about ?
-
Strange signing - I don't believe we needed any more strikers. A lack of getting the ball to the striker for clear opportunity has been the issue. Hope it works out.

personal view is 3 changes would make huge difference. 1 good mifielder, 1 left back and a 1 centre half. We need balance in our midfield - thats' either a winger who isn't a donkey or a decent holding midfield player to replace Donnelly. Personal view is we should play 4 in midfield , 2 who can stay back whilst 2 move forward. In defence we need a left back who can go up the flanks - Carrol will do fine if fit. I also think we need a centre back, Mugabi (although much improved) gives me the fear and Lamie has been a liability. Why the hell Levante Cole would solve our problems puzzles me - he wasn't winger and we already have 4 strikers. He's not any better than Long/Lang/Watt

I don't believe it's reasonable for our main aim is to stay in the league. Given we've been in the SPL since the mid 80s it's reasonable to expect us to be a mid table team.
