  1. Theres a pretty simple reason why Woolery has played a lot more than Amaluzor. He's a better footballer and better athlete.
  2. A bad lot with no quality that's got better results than 8 other teams in the league. Hibs and Aberdeen have quality but can't get results. The other teams have about the same quality as we do (not a lot) but maybe aren't as stuffy as we are. Maybe 12 points from the 24 available is a better target, 45 points is usually enough to get you top 6. Which we would all have been happy with at the start of the season.
  3. 8 games to go to the split. United A, Aberdeen H, Rangers A, County H, Dundee H, St Johnstone A, St Mirren H, Livi A. 5 wins from those 8 would be a great return and one that I think would keep us in 4th going in to the split. We're not in great form but neither are they. I think we'll take something tonight but more likely 1 point than 3. Going to be a tight match and first goal is vital.
  4. Well, we should carry a threat form corners....
  5. I thought we paid a fee for him. Also the Belgian second tier is probably broadly similar level to the bottom of the SPL. He's a gamble, he might be shite, he might be great and he might be somewhere in between but at least let the boy kick a ball for us.
  6. Anything from the game today would be welcome. Interesting to see how we go in midfield. I think it will be Maguire, Shaw and Goss as it seems GA doesn't have faith in Slatterys fitness yet.
  7. Played a decent amount of games at a decent enough level (Greek second tier, Belgian top flight and second tier) so probably has something about him. I thought we'd be looking at a more Doidge like striker, but looks like we're all in on KVV being available every week.
  8. That would make sense. Otherwise it seems like overkill having another option in there.
  9. Don't see Goss dealing well with Cadden, he seems to have come on to a game of late (Cadden that is, from what little I've saw of Hibs) and can see him giving our left side a rough day.
  10. People are being a bit overly negative here. It wasn't easy on the eye but we were dominant. We had all the chances and possession, Morton worked really hard and gave us no space until they started to tire at about 70 minutes but they really never threatened other than that chance right before half time. Wasn't easy on the eye, but an exciting last 15 minutes. On to Aberdeen.
  11. I was shocked Brian McLean was playing for morton today, he must be some age now and he was made of chocolate when he was with us. Quick look at Wikipedia and he's 36 and played for us between 2005 and 2009 including loan spell, 30 games in the first season and another 30 over the next 3...
  12. Two goalies on the bench so I assume that's all the players we have available and makes sense if there's a covid outbreak. At least I hope Ojala has covid (as long as its mild) and isn't crocked again. I'd have thought Shields would have started ahead of Roberts but could be factors I'm not aware of. Woolery has been showing more and more towards the end of the year without really delivering an end product, if he can get that sorted he may be a huge player for us.
  13. I think another option for the middle of the front three would be good to have, someone like Rudden. A younger striker that's not going to start every game but offers something off the bench or instead of KVV when he's injured/suspended/out of form. I don't think we have anyone else that's going to fit that position so we really rely on KVV being available.
  14. More reports about Roberts and a pre contract for Rudden. Doubt it's based on anything new though.
  15. There are rules against that. Once the players registration has been transferred then no other club has the right to dictate who they play against. If Watt stays and keeps performing as he has so far this season there won't be many book from the stands, subdued applause certainly but not boos. I think he'll go but you can see why the manager is saying what he's said. I also see the Record linking us with Roberts on a permanent deal, I assume that's just paper talk based on nothing new.
  16. Decisions been made, one I'm sure most are happy with. Can we get back to saying players are either brilliant or shite depending on the day of the week rather than politicians. At least the bad fitba takes on here are quite unique, I can see thousands of tweets about Sturgeon being gods gift or a fanny every day on twitter but I come here for McGinley vs Carroll debate.
  17. Interesting that after this window we could see a team with 9 out of 11 starters being players GA has brought in. Kelly O'Donnell Solholm Ojala McGinley Slattery Goss Shaw Woolery KVV Shields Imagine that won't be far off the team that starts against County and only the full backs were here in Dec 2020.
  18. So any news on Sondre's availability? Him and Ojala have both had a pretty poor run of luck with injuries since arriving but both have looked good signings when they have played. Also any word on Lamie's situation? If he's fit and a league one side want him I think we've enough at centre back to let him move on and free up a wage, assuming Sondre and Ojala are both back fit.
  19. Be some result for Robbo if they hold on.
  20. Am I right in thinking that since Rudden is under 23 there will be a fee if Thistle offered him bew contract. Okay it was rangers than held his registration up until he was 19 and they didn't offer him a contract but i assume there would still be some development fee associated with his move come the summer. Spoke to my thistle supporting mate about him, general opinion is he's decent just now with a good deal of potential nut even just now he'd do a job in the Premiership but wouldn't rely on him as your first choice striker at this stage at that level.
  21. He's had a great career, must be at 300 games or something for Millwall. The fact we couldn't get anything for him is wild. Porteous at Hibs reminds me alot of Hutchinson, big strong and athletic, all the attributes but prone to the odd rush of blood to the head. Hutchinson was less wild in challenges mind you. Just looked it up and it's less than 200 games for them. I thought it was far more
  22. I've never got the Shankland love, he banged them in for fun in the lower leagues but so did Derek Adams, his SPL goal scoring record was dreadful. I'd have Lafferty well before Griffiths or Shankland but I'd have some Championship loanee ahead of all three. Someone like Cole/Lang who is hungry at the start of his career, you'd imagine GA has knowledge of and contacts to get more in like that.
  23. I was hoping we might get Ewan Henderson in from them but but seems he's off to Hibs. I've no issue with loan deals from Rangers or Celtic as long as they offer more than we would get for the same money going elsewhere.
  24. Aye Watt has had the same amount of clubs and scored less goals. And the clubs generally haven't been as good. He moves around alot as he wants paid and it suits him, teams pay him cos he has something about him. Bringing him in til the summer assuming he's not on wild money wouldn't be an issue. If there's a better option out there brilliant but I don't know who that would be but I'm not a scout/manager.
