The 0-4 gubbing at home against Aberdeen has knocked the stuffing and the confidence right out of us and Alfred looks completely clueless as to how to rectify it. He’s not helped himself with his team selections particularly yesterday.
Also, I reckon if we hadn’t postponed that Aberdeen game in favour of this particular game and played it on the Sunday of the weekend it was scheduled for we would probably have beaten them then, or at the very least not got gubbed 4-0.

Not atall. Brown was seen at the time as a safe pair of hands but completely unexciting type of appointment after Jim Gannon. Yet he steadied us and turned us from a shambles under Gannon into a formidable side which managed to qualify for Europe.
I’m not saying that Clarke would do the same if he was to be offered the job (and it’s all hypothetical of course because we have a manager and he isn’t even being considered as far as I know) but I tend to think he would make us a lot more effective and formidable as a team than Alfred Johansson.

I don’t know if he would even be interested but I wouldn’t mind us asking the question should the situation arise.
Forget what he did/didn’t do with Scotland, he would make us hard to beat and competitive.

If that £11M striker Høgh wasn't such a diddy with the first touch of an elephant we would have lost that by a much higher scoreline. They cut us open at will especially down the left and he got in numerous great positions only to completely mis control the ball.

We’re getting sidetracked by this trip down memory lane and revisionism, however my core point is that this current team and manager look absolutely hopelessly out of their depth and as a result are attracting legitimate and deserved criticism from supporters. That is all fair enough and it is certainly not ‘toxic’ behaviour as your earlier post claimed.

There's far too many people in the support that are more interested in heaping pressure on players and managers so that they feeling like they are affecting decisions at the club, rather than actually supporting the team.

He’s just not a leader. He doesn’t have the presence or charisma that Jens had and it shows in the performances. When he’s trying to hold court and you’ve got players turning their back and not even listening to him then that is a serious sign that all is not well.

Absolutely dismal stuff. That isn’t a team it’s a bunch of individuals who don’t know what they’re expected to do led by a manager who is badly out of his depth.

Chasing shadows and only some good goalkeeping and luck has prevented us being three or four goals down. The space Tounekti and Tierney are getting down the left flank is frightening and it’s going to pay off for them sooner or later.
Lowry has showed some nice touches but apart from that this team is yet again showing nothing remotely effective just as we showed nothing remotely effective against Rangers or Aberdeen.
AJ said pre match that we need to do more from middle to front and need to “play forward” but if we’ve got Vogt up front then we have no chance of producing anything with that.

This team will lose to Kilmarnock next week as well, so anyone trying to take comfort in that fact that it’s Celtic we’re playing today and they’re better than us is in for a rude awakening when we head to Ayrshire next Saturday.
