  1. the premier inn is at SA14 9BD if that helps. No up to date image on google maps but a big space where I presume the ground is
  2. £15 for home fans but £20 for visitors. £20 for home fans on the day. Rip off
  3. A charter train would mean no alcohol on the way there or back. Trust me, the Welsh police will gladly pour your alcohol down a drain in front of you before you board the train.
  4. His opinion is worth nothing. Don't forget that Forest played Motherwell at Fir Park only five months before Phil's passing. Surely that should have given them more of a reason to participate.
  5. I recall Gary saying in an interview that his hero at Fir Park was Vic Davidson, hence the reason Gary liked to wear the number 10 shirt. Also, that would be an article I wrote in GLF where Gary sent a signed note to me confirming that he is a Well fan and not a closet h*n. Still got it somewhere in the house. I'd still prefer Luc Nijholt though!
  6. I'd love to see Luc Nijholt in charge but if my head rules my heart then Craig Brown has the experience to guide us through the next few months. Not only that but he claims to be a Motherwell supporter, and an Accies fan, or anyone else from Lanarkshire.
  7. BOOKING!!! For St Mirren.
  8. eleven goals in 30 games in 84/85 9 league Ayr away 3-1 Meadowbank away 2-4 Accies home 3-0 East Fife away 2-1 Falkirk away 2-0 Killie home 2-2 Ayr away 2-1 St Johnstone home 4-0 Brechin home 2-1 (the first goal, Andy Wanker got the second) 2 cup Dumbarton home 4-0 one goal in 8 games in 85/86 away at Dundee in 1-3 defeat. Didn't score for Falkirk until 87/88 when he got seven including one against Well in a 3-0 win. Played alongside Brian Martin, Gordon Marshall, Ian MacLeod and the legendary Crawford Baptie at Falkirk. And yes, quite ugly. See page 155 of Genge Fry and Jim Jeffrey's book of Well players! Wee Quasie indeed.

    Vs Kilmarnock

    Is this paint dry yet?
  10. Pretty sure Ian St John tried to sign him up before Clydebank but Motherwell wouldn't pay a (pitiful) signing on fee.
  11. According to the Sunday Herald the game lasted only 60 minutes! "Falkirk's Darren Barr, leading with his arm, although surely without malice, caught and concussed Hammell in his own box. While the home support screamed for a card, or perhaps a gibbet, Hammell was in no condition to hear anything, or continue. The referee waved on the stretcher and then blew for time." Most reports mention how physical Falkirk were and some mention that they could or should have had two players sent off. John Hughes has said that's how his team is going to play from now on. God help football.
  12. 1976/77 I presume and a real rarity in those days...a Sunday game. Got a feeling we might have played in white that day as well.
  13. nice drive from the edge of the box
  14. Ask him if he's Rangers Motherwell or Celtic Motherwell? And also if he has a spare ticket for Inverurie?
