  1. Unlike many on here I remain to be convinced, two decent results and one absolutley disgraceful one against very poor opposition isnt quite enough to get me all orgasmic about the two old boys , but my concern is the lack of stability within the team and i feel that brown and knox should get the nod til the end of the season. If we change it at that point then its fine by me, but the change needs to occur at the beginning of the close season, not a few days before the start of the new one, nor half way through the season. I am baffled as to the complete lack of any future plan with regard to the playing side of the club. not surprised because thats been the norm for ten years now, so wouldn't be surprised if in a few weeks time we announce our fourth management team in 7th months. In fact im almost convinced that Brown and Knox will NOT be here come March.
  2. Added to this is Browns comments that he wouldnt blame Boyle if he chose to bring in a younger management team. There is obviously a problem.
  3. Never met and dont care what he's like as a person. as player he was awful. Please god no.
  4. Boyle was asked twice - do you want them as the new management team. He wouldnt answer that. Worrying
  5. We did - they are not going to discuss it again until AFTER the transfer window has closed!
  6. Well he has always indicated that he does. So whats the problem?
  7. When i got in from the game I just caught Colin Hendry on ESPN and whoever else was in the studio discussing this and seemed to be saying that there had been a difference of opinion between Boyle and Brown during their discussions. They also said that if no agreement was reached then it would be "embarrasing" for the club. Boyles comments on Gannon (they are all intent on continuously bringing Gannon up into every interview) fly in the face of his statement in December where he stated that Gannons position was untenable, clearly inferring that he had been sacked. Now he says he walked!!?? More confusion from the man. Brown also says Hammell was frozen out of the first team - nonsense. And O'Brien claimed he was out of the picture - strange comments from a man who has appeared more times than almost any other player under Gannon? Anyway last two points were off topic, although it seems that Brown is already having his hands tied in terms of bringing in any new players, as he has already stated that every time he enquires about a player the first question the agent asks is "are you going to be the manager". How can he strengthen the team if he is unable to assure potential players that he will be there to pick him. I would not be in the least surprised if Brown and Knox leave the club, paving the way for the exciting, dynamic and adventurous swashbuckling management duo of Jim Jeffries and Billy Brown.
  8. I am reminded of a joke i heard the other day. A scarecrow was trying to have a wank. It was a sad sight. The poor fucker was clutching at straws.
  9. Thank god I have been waiting for this day! Does your mates team need a centre half??

Been trying to find out the price at the gate. Anyone have any idea? And is there a concession gate?

But the clubs statement alludes to the fact that Gannon was the cause of deterioration in relations amongst the club. As a reference it fairly rips into his character. So if they come out and say he was applying for other jobs then from Gannons point of view it would be no better or worse than what has already been said. But if they just come and said it then anything Gannon says would be indefensible.

No more or less definite than your statement. But as there is no evidence to suggest he did then why is it being purported as fact on here. When i say that its pish I have to come up with reliable sources whereas when others say its true it is immediately accepted as the real reason for his departure. I think in pointing out my flawed logic it has highlighted the flawed logic in the arguments of others who blindly accept boyles version of events.

I dont understand why he cant? If its true then there should be no issue with him saying it. To be honest I wish it was true. As I said, I would feel better.

    New Manager

Well Slane did come on against the Saints so Im hoping it means hes well on the way back. I really hope your right about this and I agree that they probably would not have got their chance under anyone else. Bringing in some older heads would be fine by me as long as a)they are good enough and not your sub standard journeyman a la Malpas and b)it doesnt stifle the opportunities of the youth which we have invested heabvily in over the last few years. Its in the best traditions of Motherwell stretching back from Hunter through Ancell and McLean right up to Butcher and Gannon to develop and bring through our own. Long may this continue.
  17. Im really not holding out much hope for tonight but I am praying that we get something out of this. I really hope Brown and Knox get the job permanently and I think over the course of 12 months they could build a good set up. Wont be pretty but could be successful. All the best to you lads.

Which is VERY different from having someone "lined up"

Oh ok sorry! I was just responding to what others were stating which was being purported as fact. If Gannon was actively seeking other employment and the club knew this for a fact then why not just say it. It would certainly change the opinion of many who are struggling to understand this whole mess arising less than a week before the transfer window opens. It would also cast Boyle in a very very good light, and its not like him to miss an opportunity like that. If it was true then it would make me feel a lot better about things.

So are you suggesting that a discussion took place between Motherwell and Brown some time prior to Gannon leaving/being sacked? Brown categorically denies this! Is he telling lies?

Point 1 - good lad! Point 2 - Been trying to but people keep asking if i know him

YAYYY!!! third time ive been asked that Also been called hugh keevins, peter ward and leon jackson (i dunno either) and someone called Ice Rink. I think its pish that he was applying for and attending interviews with other clubs. Do you know he was? Do you know him personally? Are you the chairman of stockport county?

Hardly evidence that he had already applied and went for an interview there though is it? And if Brown had already been lined up prior to Gannons departure, which Brown denies then that really is hypocritical
  24. When i first started going to the game I was lifted over the gate. It cost me nothig to get in until I was about 15. I appreciate that health and safety is paramount these days but that doesnt mean we need to charge kids to get in. If theyre not coming then we cant lose anything by aloowing under15's free entry. We sell more pies and crisps and merchandise, and we get kids into the way of attending games and supporting the club. The cost of football in this country is a major prohibitive factor in attending games, compounded by the the fact that it is highly unlikely anyone outside the old firm will achieve any real success in the way of trophies or finals on any kind of sustained basis.
