  1. Carson and McHugh the best for me. Hartley also great although the challenge on Morelos that he got booked for was rash. What can you say about Moult?
  2. Can someone who's adept at Photoshop please re-do their pre match banner thing?
  3. All the fawning over Brendan Rodgers gets on my tits TBH
  4. FFS that may be true but don't encourage them!
  5. I'm really enjoying our team at the moment. No clear stand-outs... Carson, Hartley, Bowman probably the best. Bowman would have sealed it with the chance at the end, so went for Hartley
  6. I'll try and make the case for the defence for Charles Dunne. He's decent in the air and lightening fast. His pace gets him (and others) out of a problem. If he could control and pass a ball like Stevie Hammell, he wouldn't be playing for us. Likewise... if Stevie was as big and athletic as Charles, he wouldn't have played so many games for us either. Last season I watched a number of teams target Hammell with long diagonal balls, especially when Frear was next to him on the left. That just doesn't happen with Dunne. I love Stevie Hammell, but in a 3-5-2 at Hampden against Sevco, it's Dunne for me... with clear instructions to keep it simple and (if necessary) launch the ball as far as possible, if there are no easy options on.
  7. Awesome. Can't remember going into an Accies game feeling more confident... which can only mean one thing...
  8. Lots of good performances, but for me it's between Tait and Hartley. Hartley's Cruyff turn just edges it over Tait's nutmeg.
  9. How are we doing now? I've gone a bit stratospheric
  10. I'm still a bit stunned by that, what a phenomenal performance, from start to finish and from every player on the park. We made them look very ordinary.
  11. Is it wrong that I'm tempted to bid for the Paul Slane one?
  12. I also think that although those haven't been standouts, they're still upgrades on what we had last season: Clay and Jules for example, who played regularly
  13. Lots of good performances: Bowman, Tait, Kipre, Campbell. Dunne looked to me like he was struggling with some wee injury from quite early on... which may at least partly explain all the stray passes. In the first half I thought we missed Frear. We have a much stronger squad than last year, but he's the one player that we don't have an obvious replacement for.
  14. Agree with this. I'll always have a good memory of Erwin for his part in battering the Rangers
  15. Apart from several good performances on the pitch today, one of the most pleasing things is looking at the bench and realising we had lots of good back-up... cover for injuries all across the team, and options if we're chasing a goal or looking to protect a lead. And Newell and Petrevicius weren't even in the squad. Happy days
  16. To be fair to the ref, I thought he didn't get a lot wrong today... possible exception of when he could have played advantage when the Hearts boy got booked for pulling back Cadden. The linesman on the other hand...
  17. Great news... I think the boy Kipre has the makings of being a legend. Dying to see one of those storming runs end in a rocket into the top corner
  18. As a short arse, I've got the opposite problem... in that yer average fitba pro is a lot bigger than me... so only your skinny or wee guys' tops will be any use for me
  19. Great initiative. Can I make a suggestion for future auctions? If people are possibly going to buy them for 5s or whatever - can you add the size of the particular tops to the descriptions? A Henrik Ojamaa one may be OK for me, but not a Crawford Baptie one. Cheers.
  20. It was a poor first half, and the half time changes made a big difference... but I think the conditions favoured the teams shooting towards the Cooper
  21. I also think there's a strong case to offer him a longer deal now... he's looked extremely capable so far
  22. Have you seen the Well Society thread with bus + distillery option?
