  1. Our 2 games against Rangers this season although we got gubbed at least we scored as we did in 2005 at least we got a goal. There's NO WAY we're scoring on sunday it's Motherwell 0 Rangers 2-3-4. I cant even be arsed watching this game on telly as i hate the league cup anyway.

    Are you MJC in disguise?

Or are you just an arsehole ?

  2. Juan Kerse by name. Juan Kerr by action.

Your argument might have swayed some of us if not for your ill-advised "a guy who hasn't kicked a ball all season" remark. Nethertonwellfan was spot on in his reply.

If you think my post about it being time to pack it in was based solely on this sorry episode then you're misguided. This, as others have pointed out, is the latest in a long line of cock ups from the club. Despite the views of the Glee club you can be a fan and still be critical of the way the club is run, and right now it's a shambles. The ground is falling apart......or have you forgotten the rivers of pish on boxing day? The most basic requirement in signing a player is to ensure his eligibility. Only on Saturday my old man asked me if Blackman had played for Blackburn this season, cause if he had hd wouldn't have been able to sign for Aberdeen. So my octogenarian faither knew the rule yet the people whose job it is to actually know or at the very least check these things out are clueless.

I love mfc. But by christ the admin of the club tries the patience.

  3. Terry Butcher was never sought out to be our manager. He was assistant to Eric Black, who left when we entered adminstration. He took the job at that point. Don't get the comparison.

Luc Nijholt has never managed Motherwell FC. FFS

Makes no difference whether Terry was sought or not. He was appointed with a poor prior record in management and was not warmly welcomed by many fans at the time. That's the comparison.

And yes smartarse I know Luc Nijholt has never managed Motherwell, I mention him as he is continually put forward by all the so called experts on here as the man who will lead us to the promised land. What has he done in management?

I'll draw you a diagram or some lovely pictures next time so that it's easier for you to follow.

  4. Because having contributed financially to the club for 35 fucking years gives me the right to criticise. Two or three years ago we were signing guys like Hughes and Porter. Have we really fallen this far down the shiter in three years ?

At a point in the club's history where we are struggling for fans through the gates, do you think appointing an inexperienced manager along with an assistant who's greatest footballing achievement is to get his team relegated is going to pack the fucking punters in ?

Your question in bold - Yes is the answer.

While I do agree the new management team is not going to result in standing room only at Fir Park - who would you have appointed with the money we've got?

Oh and just a thought, what was Terry Butcher's record in management when he was appointed? Or what about Luc Nijholt - the answer to all our prayers.

    FFS.

  5. So to all the experts on here who clearly know how to run a football club, who would you have appointed as our new manager? Who would be your assistant? Which players would you be signing in the January transfer window?

I said earlier, it's time for a reality check. Administration wasn't that long ago that we can have forgotten how spending outside our means brought us to our knees. Look at the attendance on Saturday against Inverness - 3728. Inverness accounted for, let's be kind and say 200. How can Motherwell possibly be sustained on a home gate of just over 3500.

I'm sorry but that size gate, and the money generated is what gets you Stuart McCall and Kenny Black - and I mean no disrespect to them.

I'm not sure when it happened but the ugly evolution of a section of our support to whinging and moaning about everything that happens at Fir Park is becoming tiresome (with apologies to George Peat).

  6. To all those on the forum who no doubt would have found fault with a Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho dream team........ Can I just remind you that MFC has no money!!!

    Please adjust your expectations accordingly.

Oh and your comments about Black are no better than some of the rubbish we expect from the ok'd firm. Really, a lot of our support are an embarrassment.

  7. Would Reynolds have been too old for us not to get any compensation at the end of the season?

Disappointing that McCall says that he won't get to spend any of the Reynolds money. I know belts need to be tightened but we have shown fuck all ambition since Gannon was punted.

Ambition requires money - something we don't have........and what little we have has been spent on the pitch.

Get used to it, it's the way of Scottish football for the foreseeable future and Motherwell are going to be feeding at the lower end of things for a long time.

  8. Mmmmm, aside from the fact that we are an awful side and have lost Brown and Knox who if nothing else, knew how to get the very best out of us, this is Motherwell, in the Scottish Cup, against a lower league side...What does that usually mean??? Yep, we'll get pumped!

Dundee will beat us, if not at Dens Park then in the replay at Fir Park.

    :(

  9. Very sad to hear of Russell's passing - in my experience he was indeed a true gent.

Which is more than can be said for the totally inappropriate comments of a couple of posters on this thread. Is a bit of respect too much to ask?

  10. With the St.Mirren games being back to back for us, I can see us winning one and losing the other. We'll probably win the league match on the Saturday and lose the Cup game as I just can't see us winning both and with St.Mirren's league record compared to their Cup record at New St.Mirren Park/Greenhill Road/Feegie/The Methadome/Paisley Shyburry or whatever you want to call it, I'd be more confident of us beating them in the SPL rather than the Cup.

You never know though, we might just win (or lose) both of them.

    Shocker <_<

  11. Hopefully JG's ability to shatter previous hoodoos will work on this one.

I'm sure if he plays 3 up front we'll be fine. If Muttley had done that all would have been well........oh wait, he played 3 up front didn't he ?

  12. 2007 - 2008:

    Falkirk 1 - 0 Motherwell

    Motherwell 0 - 3 Falkirk

    Falkirk 0 - 0 Motherwell

    2008 - 2009:

    Motherwell 3 - 2 Falkirk

    Falkirk 1 - 0 Motherwell

    Motherwell 1 - 1 Falkirk

    Falkirk 2 - 1 Motherwell

So in the last 2 seasons we have collected a grand total of 5 points from a possible 21 against a team managed by John Hughes. Different circumstances this time, of course, but we don't have a stellar record here.

Ah yes, the obligatory weeyin post.

  13. I've said it before but a team managed by John Hughes does not scare me. Sure Stokes and Riordan are talented strikers but look how many people on here were shitting themselves about Kyle for the Kilmarnock game and Boyd for the Rangers game - remind me how they did against us??

JG will have once again done his homework and will ensure that our defence snuff out the "threat" posed by those two alkies.

We'll win. Of that I have no doubt.
