  1. Everyone seems to be getting overly worried about Hibs.

    Ok.

They have 9 points - same as us. They've lost 2 matches - to Celtic and Hamilton.

They've won 3 matches - but look at who they have beaten. St Mirren (home), Falkirk (away) and St Johnstone (home).

We're unbeaten in five - having beaten Kilmarnock at home and Dundee Utd away, and drawn with Rangers at home, Aberdeen (away) and St Johnstone (away).

I'd say our 9 points have come against stronger opposition.

With JG in charge I'm not worried about beating a team managed by John Hughes.

    Get some reality pills boys.

  2. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssss full time.

    Fucking TREMENDOUS result Motherwell. :cheers::lol:

What a job Gannon has done so far. We are UNBEATEN and we're more than half way through September.

    I never doubted we'd hold out. :P

What a difference a day makes.......

Can't see us getting anything tomorrow, so I'm going for 2-1 Utd.

  3. If the match wasn't on live TV it would have been a 3pm kick off. If it's live on TV then the kick off time and in some cases the date is changed - so live TV necessitates a non 3pm Saturday kick off. It's the same reason..........

In any event - we had around 3,200 fans at the game. I'd wager that our attendance at the Kilmarnock game on August 22nd with a 3pm kick off was not much lower than that.

  4. Setting aside that reasons 1 and 2 are one and the same, I agree with you totally Frazzle. I have a season ticket so reason 3 doesn't affect me directly but 4 and 5 are the clinchers for me. I always make a point of getting to the ground a good hour or so before kick off on an Old Firm match day. It sickens me the way they take over our town (don't even get me started on the manky burger van that always turn up outside Knowetop School) and make us feel like the away support.

There's another thread about the away fans being kept inside the ground - well, it wasn't for long enough. By the time Mr David Snr and I got out of the East Stand and got to Taggarts the road was hoaching with them and it was incredibly intimidating - and that's coming from a 42 yr old and his 68 yr old faither !!

Give them the South Stand - keep them in it for about 10-15 minutes (if only). Still haven't forgotten being kept inside the Tattie Bowl for over half an hour a couple of years ago - London Road was deserted when we got out. One of the many reasons I stopped going there.......but that's another story.

  5. Indeed - those are very interesting figures. What strikes me right away is the high turnout of season ticket holders - particularly East Stand.

I agree with earlier comments that the attendance in the Cooper stand was a bit embarrassing after the "no means no" campaigns and the attempts to fill it at the cup tie two years ago and then on Saturday (both against Rangers as it happens). I'd be interested to know how the "non season ticket holders" numbers on Saturday compared to say the Kilmarnock game for the Cooper stand.

I'm conflicted on this one - I agree up to a point that the Cooper should remain a home stand, but the attendance on Saturday did not help with the previous economic argument for handing it over. That said, I don't believe there were Rangers fans unable to get tickets for the match so obviously we were able to cater for all of those who wanted to be there.

Difficult call for the club to be honest.

  6. I heard Gannon (from Sunday) on the BBC podcast thing yesterday. He speaks very very well, he seems very tactically astute. Every time I hear him I'm more impressed with the way he talks and what he seems to be trying to do.

I listened to that this morning and I'd urge everyone on here to do the same. Absolutely superb listening to JG talk about football - intelligent, articulate, enthusiastic - quite clear that he thinks very deeply about the game and is very excited about being our manager. Breath of fresh air from all the usual suspects and their played out cliches.

  7. Is there an exact date for the away shirt yet? Going away for the September weekend, with quite a few Sellick supporters all buying the bumblebee, and I quite fancy spoiling their exhibition with the new well top!

Is that not the most hideous thing you have ever seen in your life? A number of the kids round our way have been wearing it the past few weeks and it just makes them look like mhanky tinkers......sorry but it does. I wouldn't wipe my dog's backside with it....

  8. This may be controversial but do you think there is a chance that Dougie McDonald might just be emerging as our best referee ? I've seen him officiate at a number of Old Firm matches and he has handled them very well and already this season he has got two major decisions (against the Old Firm, no less) absolutely spot on despite just about every person thinking the decision was wrong at first look. Just wondering.......

  9. Ah yes - "insists" that most beloved word of the tabloid sportswriter. Look out for it - every player or manager "insists" - as if anyone is actually arguing with them. I remember picking up on it one day a few years ago when just about every article I read in one paper began "Player Player insists that he is fit for this week's game", "Boss Boss insists that three points from the next two games"....yadda, yadda, yadda.

Absolute rubbish - but what do you expect from the tabloids?

  10. Been said already but after the singing directed at McGhee two weeks a go we have no room to criticise or ask for sanctions against any other supporters. People who live in glass houses and all that.....

  11. My first reaction during the game was that it was not a penalty and this view was shared by all around me. However, watching the game back on the Sky+ I believe it was a penalty - Bougherra clearly catches Jutkiewicz's ankles and makes no contact with the ball.

Another good shout by Dougie McDonald after the McGeady sending off - and well done on the red card too. Credit where it is due !

Great save by McGregor though - even if he did come off his line too early. Chin up Jim - you had a great game yesterday.

  12. take it easy mate youve got to curb your enthusiasm for the motherwell game :P

That's pretty good my friend. Pretty, pretty good. I'm sure my beloved aunt would have agreed with you.

£10 for the footy or use the Big Yin ticket I've already spent thirty notes on. Hmmm. I think I know what I'll do. I'll get my faither to text me the score

  13. Got a decision to make. Do I go to see Billy Connolly at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh - having almost killed some people in order to get the ticket? Sheesh - life's full of decisions these days. Wish the game was the Wednesday night.

Not feeling too fab and groovy about this one.

  14. 99.9% Tuesday - one or two wee things to be ironed out.

Should have confirmation and prices on the website tomorrow...

    'Flow

Let me ask you something...........has it been confirmed for Tuesday......
