  1. Fly bassa's in that camera van, strategically placed on a bridge at the bottom of a hill in a blind spot above a long left hand bend, , pretty sure I got the speed down to under 75 but not sure I got it under 70mph  suppose I'll just have to wait and see like most.

Edit: the one I'm referring to was definately a speed trap van, not a VOSA tax camera van (plenty of them in operation on journey up and down)

Anyone else stay in the Southmead Guest house? Owner guy was a smelly tink! But I can only echo what everyone else is saying! Great trip. Fanzone was class.

Southmead guest house had two stars too many, manky hole of a place and the 'director' looked well strange ( as in like a reclusive serial killer type dude B-) ) Breakfast was not too bad, off street parking a bonus, and the location was pretty good, but I'd rather spend the night in the local sewage works than another one in there.

Edit: aye MJ spotted the wee 'Well guy on the shelf, wasn't really into engaging the dude in conversation about it, in case it represented someone 'living' under the patio :P

only encountered, 4 other guests, a 'Well supporting family spending the thursday night like us, heards a couple of lads coming in about 2 in the morning but never seen anyone else out of the 20 guests

almost everyone else we encountered were top class, although an awfy lot of folk we asked about Stebonheath and the team had no idea what we were talking about, but all were helpful or polite in the encounters even the random English punters we bumped into wished us well and praised the team/fans

Top marks though go to the Llanelli staff and fans we encountered, Stebo is a fine ground , I wish we could have played the game in there, but am grateful it was moved to allow everyone who wanted in the opportunity, I hope your club has received a boost from the encounter.

Everything the club done was well organised, If you get a similar opportunity again the only thing I'd ask you to do is get direction signs posted from the main drags guiding fans up to Stebo, we must have stoated about for an hour trying to find it and I've heard from others they gave up, even with Sat Nav!

    Good luck Llanelli :lol::D

  2. Another loss to the side, he had a determination about him, a winners mentality say,

might have split the fans, and got into some bother of his own making on occasion, but he always had that steely determination to never lie down.

    Best of luck, Coach.

  3. There was worse players than Craigan last night, he should be naming them aswell

Why?, he didn't name Craigan so why name others?

People really need to read around the journalistic licence that these gutter hacks use to put their own spin and headlines on a couple of snippets they pick up.

I'm pretty sure Gannon will not right off any player he inherits based on last nights performance, squad might get chopped and changed a little while he experiments or if players get added but I'm sure everyone will get theit chance to prove themselves in training.

He's the gaffer, he makes the choices

I'm, liking the fact that no one is guaranteed a first team place in his eyes, just a pity the tiny squad means if someone is dropped we're going to have to be patient for a replacement to find their feet.

  4. of small significance, but who the fuck made a complete and utter arse of printing the numbers on the players strips tonight

Professional outfit? Llanelli put more than the players to shame tonight

  5. Did one of the Stockport Lads not mention, Peter Ward as his assistant?

Nothing wrong with him bringing in his ownman, and allowing a senior player to step into a player/coach role then becoming his man

  6. I was quite surprised at Lovell getting released but have since read Eddie Mays reasoning and kind of agree with it

He is only training part time and expecting to appear at the weekend

Basically May is saying that can't go on, you get problems in the squad if you allow one player such liberty

  7. Nothing can be done before Thursday really ..............as we can only swap one player for another. 10 July (hopefully) will be when the next registration is for the Cup.

    Nothing? Or something? :D

in fact shedloads can get done,

    tactics,

    continued fitness work,

    another player,

first team players might be available that weren't used,

Breakthrough players that played in first team last season can come in, in correct positions

and if all else fails the fans can find out where the Llanelli players are staying and take them out and get them pissed :P

it was a bounce game we only lost 11minutes of it, even the Llanelli fans aren't taking the result seriously

  8. I think most folk would agree with your thoughts on the friendly game, but we have no other options available for Thursday and the concern is justified in my view.

If we do go out to Llanelli it'll be solely down to taking over a fortnight to appoint a gaffer and letting two top players leave when we had a very threadbare squad as it was.

    Thats miles oot Mr Elder

A fortnight to appoint a new Gaffer might well have been too quick and possibly a bit rushed in the circumstances, would you rather JB had made a quick appointment in Sandy Clark, John Robertson, Alex Smith etc

If we go out to Llanelli, it'll be down to , players contracts expiring, McGhee breaking his contract, Leitch breaking his contract, Setanta TV going bust forcing massive cutbacks in Scottish Football (if we sell!) , the ridiculous early start to the Europa qualifiers causing an only 4 wk rest break

Oh and the Lanarkshire micro climate :( amongst many other things

two weeks to get the correct manager is extremely quick and cannot be crticised, and players leaving if it happens to keep the club alive in dire financial times I would reckon you will agree would be the correct decision instead of Gambling it all against beating Llanelli AFC

  9. Mate of mine was in the ticket office at about three o'clock this afternoon and the girl said we'd sold almost 2,000!

Perhaps a bit of exaggerating going on but sounds promising.

The club did not have 2000 tickets in their possession to sell yesterday before 3pm so that is a massive exageration, the actual amount quoted in a few places is just under 1000 at that time

fuck i dont get payed till next friday could be fooked for a ticket

Nae danger, Motherwell have been allocated 3300 tickets if (and its an unlikely if) we were threatening to sell out that amount I'd imagine they'd find another spot in the 15,0000 seater stadium to squeeze another couple in

  10. All good information CharlieTG

your club sure have some challenges to deal with and I'd reckon a fair number of 'Well fans can relate to your situation

Not me, of course... I'm not cynical.

 You'll fit straight in here , hope you hang about and see how your man does if he takes the job

  11. Thing is though, this summer we will actually HAVE a decent budget and need to go out and buy and sign at least SIX or SEVEN players if Clarky goes - More if Quinn and Reynolds go too. Is Gannon the man who has the contacts and market experience to pull off such a recruitment drive??

I'm thinking that people are getting carried away with this thought of having a large sum of money to spend in the transfer market

The clubs 2008 accounts reported approx £1.5million from TV and radio and also stated as a positive note in the outlook that the extended deal negotiated with Setanta was worth almost double to the club

We all know that money is not there now, so budgets will have to be adjusted accordingly

the loss of Setanta money leaves a gaping hole in the budget about one third of income based on previous years and it was to be expected it would have been nearer half if the new deal had survived.

So imho folk need to get a grip on expectations as I'd rather see the finances managed correctly, some player money is going to be required as the club is built around a first team squad but after losing a third of your income stream it would be foolish to go and try and even match what had been getting spent in the past

PS not a personal dig Juan K, just your the most recent to post

  12. Thursday Morning 0530-0630 hopefully, but certainly before 0730

no point in encountering Rush hour traffic just getting to the Motorway

Reckon it'll be 8hrs + with some rest stops.

Leaving to come back up Friday morning some time

    Travel thread?

  13. I've not really got a clue who's best for the job or indeed who is really in for it other than the speculation on here.

But If it is Jim Gannon and the description gven by Charlietoogood is a fair reflection then I'd be happy with him.

as for the Daily Retard story, just the usual speculation, I have totally given up on buying newspapers, everything printed is available elsewhere and articles nowadays are just cobbled together in the same manner most of the posts on here are by piecing together random snippets.

i.e Clarkson friends & family reports he's already been down to do the deal ....... Motherwell report he's been granted permission but no talks til next week....... grapevine says new manager appointed early next week .... all that equals, new manager to have say on transfers out.

But aye Jimmy Gannons Motherwell Army does appeal to me
