  1. working so can't really comment on performance

but from afar to me its a point gained, just that being so close to the cut off makes it seem like a missed opportunity - if you get my drift

Obviously every point won contributes to the total, so another point today is most definately positive.

If you want to look at points lost look back to the run from November into December :)

    Falkirk 1 - 0 Motherwell

    Motherwell 1 - 4 Hibs

    Aberdeen 2 - 0 Motherwell

    Motherwell 0 - 2 Kilmarnock

    Hamilton 2 - 0 Motherwell

thats where we dropped points a couple of draws in there might very well have meant we were already secure in the top six.

Guess what I'm saying is every point won is much more positive than negative :):)

Oh and if we're tied on points, does it really get decided on League goal difference? or is it head to head results then head to head goal difference???????????????????

  2. mmmmm

can just about forgive the photoshoot as been down to bad advice, but can never forgive his total lack of commitment in his last half dozen games, should never have continued to play for us.

would need to do a lot of community work and put in some seriously commited performances to change my opinion on him

would rather have Simon Lappin back

  3. Bit of an accusation there mate - that I don't think any of us could make without being 'in the know'

    Eh? No.

No accusation only my thoughts on what an independant retailer should be doing hence the 'I'd' which when broken down means I would then the next bit expands that to, I would expect them to.

But aye if you want an accusation, PSL are in it, for the good of their business

  4. I'm sure the club always intended to announce this right now and in no way allow PSL to fleece the fans?

Was told this news started breaking at the home cup tie, I heard it on the way to new Love street, but dismissed it because I had been in the club shop that very day and the Bukta gear was still full price, seriously considered buying a top that day but In the end decided the price was still too high.

I'm a little surprised at the spin being put on how good a deal this is for the club to the point of almost accepting year on year changes are the acceptable norm, The fans are the club and the fans have shelled out a lot of money in the last few years with the way events have unrolled.

PSL I'd expect to have had a very profitable time from the last few years association with MFC and as an independent company I'd expect them to continue pushing for changes to allow them to continue making those personal gains however I'd expect Motherwell Foootball Club to at least every now and again step back and consider their supporters and themselves as if those same supporters are shelling out £50-£100 on a couple of strips per household every summer I can't see many of the same supporters being able to shell out similar amounts on grass seed or whatever the next plan is?

I wonder if they would consider selling tops with no advertising to save changing next summer again? at the very least no advertising or branding on the Kids tops

  5. Inspector Robin Young at Paisley Police Station confirmed there had been an incident but said it was nothing his officers could not handle: “There were no arrests made as we stepped in before anything really happened – they were facing-off, but no-one had been hurt.

“It was a job well done by our officers. We always walk supporters back to the station and even get on buses and trains to make sure they don’t square up.

“It’s important that we do that as there are lots of wee areas in the town centre where they could dive into to kick-off.”

 Sounds more like a quote from a 'wee ned' than a Police inspector, I'm sure there could have been a minor incident but I'm equally sure that the details of the article are wildly inaccurate and just comfirms my thoughts that the majority of Journos have no reporting skills or indeed integrity

  6. I'm not sure how these things work normally

but from looking and registering it seems the smallest 8x6 image of Phil @ £4.89 then requires £1.72 postage added meaning £6.61, seems a lot and probably too much for me to be making frequent purchases

    HOWEVER:

the exact same image on SNSPIX costs £8.31 + £1.72= £10.03 :whistling:

I think the sites are operated by the same company so it seems 'Well fans are getting a preferential rate, Is it good value? well that down to the individual

I was ready to order a bundle but it'll now be a selected few when they become available

  7. A well deserved point in my opinion, as much as celtic had more chances Wee Chesney was miles oot in his interview that they had all the possesion.

The only concern again from today was that for all the ball we had only one shot on goal and that from a defender. (edit: oh and soooooo many slack passes again!)

And for 5minutes after he went off and then after we scored it was glaringly obvious what Fitzpatrick brings to the team. I was bricking it at points when they were walking straight past our midfield.

A lot of effort from players today, Sutton is miles of the pace but still contributed just enough.

Thought Reynolds was mostly very composed.

and a totally standard institutionalised biased performance from an SFA referee, allowing an old firm team to dictate how he officiates ;)

  8. Unashamed BUMP*

There are still a few spaces available at this event.

Anyone got any more details on the Motherwell/Scotland related items that are going up for auction?

Afraid I'll be in work during the event so can't make it but am intereseted in making some proxy bids if that is still open

    Cheers

  9. Yeah fair play Guys I understand you wanted to get them listed ASAP to get them finished for Saturday

But if I was watching in from afar and happened across theebay listing I'd be reluctant to participate without a little more input

even putting a link to the welltrust site would've been a little bit re-assuring.

But either way some more good funds towards the cause, couple of mates biddding on them so they'll be well chuffed if they win.

as for Proxy bidding I'm just heading out for a monster sesh so will PM later, when my decision making will be a little blurred and I'll not feel the need to be sensible with my bid :P

  10. best of luck with all the continued fundraising is there anyway for folks that cannot make the dinner to bid on the memorabila? would be interested in some of the stuff mentioned but have no way of getting to the event.

    and regards Ebay

can you not get some pictures onto the ebay listings and add a wee bit if you have letters from the clubs as that goes a long way in proving authenticity and many folk will pay more or at least bid

your ebay reputation is zero so your asking alot from rightly cautious ebayers to trust you on the basis of a internet club badge image and a wee story, picture would go a long way and the edit announcing letters would help.

I emailed around the list yesterday and got some sheepies and bairns on board and got the thread in P&B bumped but they were promised pictures

  11. But you were originally talking about Nancy and MFC's argument that they would never sell them all, so we shold get more as we would sell them? meaning more people in the ground and no one disrupted. were you not?

then you switched it round to giving the Cooper to the mauld firm

which is where I'm confused they do not sell them anymore and Motherwell fans are disrupted to the point of many not even going

the seats I'm talking about not being sold are the many that will be empty wether or not its Celtic or 'Well fans in the Cooper, so they will remain unsold either way

and anyway it doesn't really matter, you got a dig in earlier and I got to call them auld cűnts thanks to you reminding us all about character map in the Maroś thread

  12. lol I'm NO where near as auld as they two auld ćüňťš  but i'm even more confused now about what you mean:

so why not re-sell already sold seats to make some extra bucks. Attendance might not be up (from pre-Cooper fiasco) but the fact of the matter is the ticket sales are.

They were/are not already sold and probably will/would not be anyway?

and as for Celtic we've even taking to selling them locally from the ticket office (save the 5% but have to pay rentokill to fumigate the place)

  13. I'd go with

    Buzz, Saunders,Craggs, Reynolds,Hammell and Klimpl

the boss will have to earn his bucks to pick a suitable midfield/attack

Celtic recent results this year have been midtable form at best so nobody mention the AA

    Drew 0-0 with rangers

    Won 2-1 Queens Park

    Drew 0-0 ICT

Drew 0-0 D.Utd (won thru on nalties)

    Won 3-1 Hibs

    Lost 4-2 Aberdeen

    Won 2-1 Dundee

    Drew 2-2 D.Utd

have we got the players to do what Aberdeen done to them? what was it 3 goals from set pieces into the box

I'd say the 5 at the back but definately worth a pop at them

  14. I sort of agree Lobey , but since we lost the goal throught that channel we probably did need a player there, albeit who's to say he would have been in position to stop it??

Mair like Chump manager fatcalf, every player playing to the best of their ability would be nice to see week in week out

Edit: i'm away for a lie down before the world Implodes, either that or someones taken over MJCs persona

  15. You've cleared nothing up as usual just another one spouting of pish in my opinion due to a blinkered view on the lad

He is not playing on the Left wing

he is playing on the left hand side of the midfield

doing a job very similar to Klimpl does in the middle

  16. Just out of curiosity, if we had a natural left winger in the squad who done a job for us - would you play Fizzy and if so where? And at the expense of who?

    I'd play:

    ................Buzz

    Saunders, Craggs, Reynolds

    .....Lasley, Klimpl, Fizzy/Hammell

O'Brien & natural left winger you talk off

    ..........Sutton & Clarkson

So it would be a choice of Hammy or Fizzy for me, along with Lasley at the expense of Hughes, but I don't think any pro-manager would go with that type of setup

McGhee would stick with his 4-3-3 or 4-4-2

and utilise only one winger at a time or two wingers and one striker

  17. Out of all the midfielders we have in our squad Lasley has the highest workrate and by far covers the most ground! But covering ground is no emphasis for a starting place - just means you are fit. Sometimes I think Fizzy is like a headless chicken running about the park - and even after a good few season in the first team squad - he still looks way out of his depth.

And thats the sad fact of the matter.

No it is not, that is your OPINION on the matter

As Motherwell fans we all like a moan now and again but the abuse Fizzy gets is unbelievable

there were easily 4 or 5 players who had a worse game and made more mistakes that were more costly to the side last night than him, but they don't get half the abuse if any.

I'd say that McGhee put out just about our strongest side last night (personally Sutton for Sheridan for me).

But too many of the players were too nervous in front of goal or around the box, and its quite obvious Fitzpatrick isn't being asked to attack the wings and get in crosses or hit the penalty spot thats for others to do, which THEY didn't

we could easily have scored 3 or 4 last night but for some reason the players that were going forward, too often were nervous with the final ball or shot, always trying one more turn or one more pass.

St. Mirren very rarely won the ball back in their box, we gave them it :wallbash:

McGhee says we were practising penalties, perhaps we should be practising Shooting and set pieces because that is where we lost the match last night IMHO
