Fine times, watching men become legends, Still to this day glow with pride whenever recalling the cup run, Never made the Aberdeen game had been up there many times in the previous few years and for some reason the trip just didn't happen but can remember hearing Kirkie was coming off the bench and when the goal came through on the radio it was sheer joy. Never missed a first round tie since Even then a cup tie against lower league opposition put fear into many 'Well fans so no real expectation for a good cup run from me when we played Falkirk, a good game however most memorable for a Joe McLeod goal! and off course Kirkie netting after coming of the bench. the next games against Morton were the hardest for me, 0-0 was a chore but the replay immediately after had all the classic cup tie moments, take the lead, get pinned back (Johnny Gaghan ), nearly won it, nearly lost it, then penalities!! right in front of us!! and the Classic Colin Psycho O'Neill necksnapping forward role celebration sent us wild, Dare we believe?? the Glasgow Sellik in the next round, at Hampden, was the semi-final draw fixed?? not a classic football match this one but we could've won it , after a poor 1st half then some last ditch defending we pushed them back and should have got a penalty but as usual it wasn't given, Ian Ferguson then rattled the post, I thought it was going in! my heart sank and thought maybes that was our last chance, another replay ensued. Did celtic ever lose a semi final replay? they pounded us in the first half on what was a horrible wet evening and Arnott goal kept us in it at 2-1 HT but the second half was where we seen the boys become men and the men become legends, quite simply the best 45minutes I've witnessed, Arnott equalised then came the goal of the tournament/season/lifetime the Psycho, 35yds out, decided he was hitting it, It was like slow motion a joy to see, 3-2, then Kirkie sealed the deal with a cross into the top stanchion, Was It In? I wasn't sure, Look to the Ref? YES, YES it WAS!!!!!!!!!!! never have I ever been in a crowd that went so mental(Caldwell against France was close, for those that were part of that) was the tie fixed?GIRFUY Every 'Well fan knows the final, and I went into it with belief that never before/or since have I held as a 'Well fan, it was to be a rollercoaster in itself but the Coop' was back and I just didn't believe we could lose, BIG MISTAKE! Goals from Ferguson, O'Donnell and Angus were not enough to seal it in the 90minutes the break at full time seemed to rally the team and the fans, and Kirkie sealed his Legendary staus with the last of his goals in every round, Grown men had been on their knees at full time, but now there were tears of joy, it had happened WE had won the cup The team will live on forever in my memory: Maxwell Nijholt, Paterson, McCart, Boyd Griffin, Angus, O'Donnell, Cooper,Ferguson, Arnott, Subs: Kirk, O'Neil Very special mention to John 'Softie' Philliben who didn't make the final squad which was far too limited in those days and a mention for Nicky Cusack and Joe 'could've bought a barratt house instead' McLeod

I don't know what to think... but the lack of mail that gets through to my address from the club I can never be sure if it's been sent or I've just been missed out. Can't be easy to arrange an event at such short notice, but it was just a general question to see if the details have been issued to the sponsors. Still feel......
-
Has anyone received anything about this?
-
He played Magic! only one mistake I recall when he let a stray ball loose on the half way line for them to break but even then he got back to make the clearance on the line wouldn't think anyone non-M'well would have been able to identify it as his first full 90mins. Sound sound prospect, didn't miss Reynolds in the slightest
-
the Morrisons next to the ground? thats Madness if its anything like the last time, total gridlock around the road in and out before and after the match and there wasn't the temporary lights. EDIT: whit traffic lights?
-
Is this the Accies v Motherwell game thread then? Not long been informed this one is pay at the gate £22! / £11 Painful as that is, I'll probably be at it. Team news? Reynolds suspended (almost two years since he missed out is it?) Craggs doubtful? Fitzy Doubtful? Hopefully see those that are going to be here next year over those that are not.......

Congratulations, A nice piece of recognition and highlights some people at the club that want to change things for the good, pleased for all involved Small steps all add up to improving the club.

Are You Planing To Renew Your Season Ticket ?
Brazilian replied to East_Stand_Al's topic in Club Chat
How is it not true? it is true, bigg even goes on to say no renewal letter received, I'll add that I haven't received any renewal letters either or any of the previous mailings meant for season ticket holders. I'm happy the club are taking steps (again) to try and correct the database and the professionalism and the success rate for contacting fans, but get a little pissed off when other fans seem to think just because they got a mailing from the club that the system must be perfect and everyone that voices an opinion that it is not must be wrong. As for the topic of the thread, Probably will not renew the season tickets, because it just doesn't make financial sense and every time I have done it to support the club I get a kick in the teeth in return. -
Back to the counselling for me then, thought I had got over it til you said the name, deal of the century that was Oh Aye Mcleish, he's just a lucky Mo Malpas Edit : In Eddie Mays defence he might have been all right in the correct position

I wish we had another 10 who played with the same drive and could deliver the same results from such a tremendous workrate when they get on the pitch I've never met him or his kin so I can't really comment on his passion for the club or indeed the team, but it looks like he plays with passion and responsibility all I think is we would be a lot worse off without his contribution over those 250 appearances than we are with him. Thanks Clarky, Keep on fighting. PS, I can dream of Clarky still being here when Faddy comes back to sign off
-
It would take a points deduction to relegate us it just can't happen with any combination of results For Falkirk to pass us they have to win all 4 or win 3 draw 1 which means all the others have to lose at least one to them that leaves the others who can catch us from 34 but since Falkirk have beat them once then both of them can't catch us Understand? EDIT: and like tweed a dissapointment for me today was patching up the side with out of position players instead of developing a couple of youth players, might not have changed the result but would have benefitted the club future much more than playing Las at rightback? as well as that players who will not be here next year getting squad slots over those that will be here, but maybe the boss is still looking at league position
-
Yeah its all over 2-1 4 bookings?! but it's all meaningless seemingly so there will be no jizz fest over the loss this evening
-
Nalty and some hope Get in there, Clarky with a scuffed penalty by Craggs description 2-1 a draw would be decent now from this
-
Ah bollox again Corner header goal against tam scobie as well
-
Eh?! you're not too bothered, are you happy to finish 8th or 9th so the other teams can stay up? don't understand that myself, as much as I'd have a preference over who goes down i'd always be bothered by our results first
-
Ah bollocks, is this the bad run continuing can only hope Killie get relegated now
-
So how we lining up anyone got info Is it -------------Smith Lasley McLean Reynolds Hammell -------Klimpl Hughes Fizzy McGarry--------------------Clarkson ---------------Sutton Or is the Klump in defence with Captain Las in midfield? or 3 at the back?? who'd have thought there would be anything interesting to discuss Does this mean Coach is on his way

this and an apology for breaking the sponsorship contract by not delivering the POTY end of season dinner then a discussion on the alternative or compensation (reduced rates next season etc) would have sufficed Whats follows might not be smoke and mirrors to you but it sure as hell seems to be to me. I'm most dissapointed that running a football club you think this is an acceptable yarn. It is essentially what happens at the end of every season, is it not? that players go on holiday and that they do indeed need strips for the last game. It also seems a tad insensitive that the fact we are getting a new strip is being used as leverage since that is also becoming an annual event. So despite the fact that everyone knew the season was to end on the weekend of the 23/24th and that the club had taken in sponsorship money based in part, on hosting the presentation evening, no venue booking had been made and the club expected to arrange such and event in less than 4-5weeks ? acceptable thoughts for you to have, and quite possibly you would have received majority backing for this plan, if you had discussed this with the sponsors prior to dissapointing them and then feeding them a bunch of excuses/reasons that are all based on the fact that football business got in the way, but let's not forget sponsors entered into a contract at the start of the season for this to happen at the end of the season and the excuses given just don't stack up when the business is running a football club. Asking for views after the decision has been made on not hosting the event is what pains the most, I collated money on behalf of a group of fans, they all contributed based on a promise by me to deliver at the end of the season and I had looked forward to delivering on my promise based on the contract I entered in to with the club. add 1 person to that list who does not understand and will probably collect Iain Manders. PS who is going to present all the strips of players that leave at the end of this season
-
Cheers Andy I paypalled a donation (done it all lower case letters like your first post, dunno if it matters ) Well done again
-
Sounds like another good night that I've missed out on, thats a great amount to have raised from one night very well done to all who helped organise, manage and take part on the night that made it so. Is there a paypal link still active to add a little to the funds?

well for me there is good news, and unclear news that's most probably bad news. Good news that a letter from MFC has finally arrived at my address, so as a named contact for a group sponsoring the club they can contact me, but can't manage it for two season tickets Unclear news, that although sponsors will receive the strips, because 'the boys' will be using the kit right up until 23rd May a formal presentation is unfeasible this end of season. as such the strips can be collected from the club or they can be held at the club prior to a more formal presentation in the early part of next season. Now I'm more of a say it as it is sort of person, and although thankful that the club has issued the information (wonder what prompted them to?) my first thought is that its loaded with spin which I thought as a club we were moving away from under L.D's guidance I wonder if the club would like to 'say it as it is'

98/99 7th, 99/00 4th, 00/01 8th (12 teams + split) 01/02 11th 02/03 12th, 03/04 6th, 04/05 6th, 05/06 8th, 06/07 10th, 07/08 3rd, 08/09 7-9? Average not including this season 7.5 so will probably be an average finish of 7th including this season when its decided. wonder where we would be now if the Administration rules had been in force back then? (edit just realised we'd be in the same place )

anybody making a last minute dash across to Fir Park for the U19's last game? 12:00 KO v Hibs Phil O'Donnell stand £2 entry, proceeds to the youth development fund
-
the signs might still say that (outdated why restrict acces to the empty more central premium seats?), they did when they first seated the east, but what about the bigger picture? the other TWO stands 'Well fans are in the rest of the East stand where many season tickets are currently held (notice the stickers!) back row seems popular
