  1. Ian Cathro at Valencia is quoted at 16/1 with McBookie. He said in a BBC article last month that he'd like to work in Britain and a club of our size might be up his street for his first managerial role.

Very highly rated for youth development and this is what the club needs to be concentrating on if we are to survive in the long term.

If it was possible, this is the one I would go for.

  2. Appreciate your research mate ---- how likely is that to change ?

I don't think it will change given the ruling that St Johnstone would take Rosenborg's coefficent.

Here's what I researched and you can judge it for yourself.

In the seeding pots released on Friday morning, the teams are ranked by their coefficient or, in the case of the second qualifying round ties, by the higher of the two club coefficients involved – with 29 sides classified as seeded.

The teams are further split into five groups containing an equal number of seeded and unseeded contenders. Each seeded club will meet an unseeded opponent from within the same group. The matches will be played on successive Thursdays, 1 and 8 August.

  3. A guy from down south told me its either ourselves or Caley looking at a player called Sam Clucas of Hereford (previously of Leicester)

He's a young left winger who's also had experience in the Glenn Hoddle Academy.

Sky Sports are claiming he's going to sign for Mansfield, but the guy's pretty sure he's heading north. Not saying it's a definite link to us, but the fact he's young, playing in the english leagues and in a position we're looking to strengthen it could possibly be a name that pops up in the papers one day.

  4. Why is it every summer we get into a frenzy about signing ex-players? Reynolds will be on 5k a week and will get a chance in England. Quinn will stay down in England. Clarky will probably end up at Carlisle or something. Our fans have got to accept our signings will likely be a loan from England, a League two standard player and a SPL journeyman to boost the numbers and fill the gaps.

These ex-players resigning were unrealistic in the first place and are pretty much impossible with the no to newco and more financial restrictions to the club.

I'd love Faddy back, I really would but seriously guys. It's very unlikely.

  5. Keep Clarky as far away from here as possible. I never rated him. Ran about like a headless chicken and had the first touch of a donkey. The 2 good season's he had just before he left were thanks to Chris Porter and McGhee's 4-3-3 system getting the best out of him.

  6. I wonder how many if the 2500 odd extra "Fans" that turned out yesterday will buy a ST or even be at the first home game of the new season?

I won't be buying a season ticket nor going to the first game of the season.

I've seen every team in the SPL bar Ross County obviously home and away with Motherwell and £20 a time to see teams I've seen over and over with very poor quality is not value for money in my opinion.
