  1. Can I just say I am MIGHTILY impressed by our club today. After my mini rant on the forum last night they got in touch and told me to email in the morning. Then Leeann phoned me back and took my booking personally over the phone. I picked up the tickets this afternoon. Top class customer service, she was adamant that she wanted to ensure all 'real fans' get tickets so said to pass on the word to others if they are in a similar situation. It was only when I got to Fir Park however that I realised I was in my Ireland rugby top (being from Ireland although having lived here since I was 8!) and with my G33 postcode I was expecting to get jumped by a bunch of steelmen thinking I was a celtic fan. But alas I got the tickets safely enough and went and spent some money in the shop just to round it all off. Really impressed and now really excited! MON THE WELL!
  2. Reading this is so infuriating. I have been a season ticket holder for the past 5 seasons but couldnt afford this years one and my wife has been one for the past 2 seasons and couldnt afford this one. We both entered the ballot for 4 tickets and have heard nothing at all since. Yet so many folk who entered it later / dont even support the club are getting tickets?! GRRRRR!
  3. Was in the garage in Glasgow (feeling mighty old) during preseason this year the day after the flamurturi game and met Jamie Murphy! Shook his hand and said well done on the hat-trick but he looked mighty shocked that someone recognised him! Seemed a nice enough guy tho... 2 years ago met Stevie Hammel n Buzz in the Corinthian in town. I was quite shy but the wife went right up and chatted with them, I followed her across n chatted to Stevie who was a gent. Buzz was wearing the gayest Cardigan ever tho which my mates found quite funny! Anybody ever met John Boyle either? We met him on train on way to Easter Road for CIS semi, top bloke but the limpest handshake ever!
  4. You're lucky! The 2nd of July (2009) is my wedding!
  5. I am stuck in 2 minds about this.... absolutely delighted we in Europe but (like Clarky!) I arranged my wedding for this summer confident I wouldnt be missing any Well games! But guess when Im getting married.... 2nd July! I have already suggested we get the match on a big screen at the back but it didnt go down well! Plus we our on honeymoon in Ireland for the week after that so even if we drew a N. Irish team there is no guarentee i could go... Having grown up in Belfast and being a Linfield season ticket holder till I moved over here 15 years ago I would be GUTTED if we got Linfield and I couldnt go! But hey... WE'RE ALL GOING ON A EUROPEAN TOUR!
  6. I agree that Stevie has looked much better the past few weeks.. For the past few months he has been well below par I admit but I think he comes in for a bit much flack sometimes... He has contributed far more in the way of quality crosses recently (for Clarksons call on Sat and 2 v Caley?) and I too thought on Sat he was a lead canditate for MOTM before he got jumped! And how on earth is the fact he was booked after 45mins make any sort of difference to how good a player he is?! If getting booked was a sign of being rubbish then legends such as Cantona, Keane or even Leitch or Big Softy must be pish! Seems to me its just another chance for an easy dig on Hammell...
  7. The last 2 games tho he has been playing at RIGHT wing with fitzy on the left for most of it!
  8. I been down to the ticket office this morning and collected my(and my fiances) free tickets for the EAST stand on Saturday. We are using the 2 adult tickets for our mates but if anybody can use the 2 kids ones then give me a pm and Il give them to you before the match! Live the dream.

    Falkirk Game

Yeh I noticed that 2! But official site and spl still say Saturday... Must of just been a typo!
  10. The last I heard he has a rare asmatic condition so that he can only really play 70mins or so per match... I think he is focusing a lot more on his church life now too. Although he might consider a move back to Motherwell as there are only a few of his types of church in the UK and one is here. He was a good guy tho... But not sure if he is what we need now...
  11. Mind Clarky coming over to the fans at the end? Emotional times! And a right good recovery in the actual game as well! Pity it took such awful circumstances to make it all so passionate!
  12. There have been so many... recent ones include Tynecastle last January, and the Aberdeen game last year... But 2 from Easter Road stick in my mind: The CIS Semi against Hearts where we were on for the win then Clarky missed a sitter 2 yards out and Hearts equalised only for Fitzy to score a peach of a goal to win the game! Why doesnt he do that anymore?! The other one was last year against Hibs in the CIS round bout September. I had been travelling for a few months so missed the first games of the season but was getting regular updates saying how we were a changed team, playing sexy football! I didnt believe it and when we went 1-0 down I was like, yeh wotever! But then we played some of the best football I have seen the well play in recent years with Rossco scoring 2 peaches.... Good times!
  13. This is a very interesting point... But i find myself agreeing with faddyisgod more. In no way am I saying McGhee should be sacked after what he did last year. And we should be patient as I do believe this team can and will get us top 6. BUT I dont think the fan's need to give the manager the 'benefit of the doubt' if after lasts years performance the same manager talked himself into far better wages based on his performance over a period of 8 months. Fair enough if he was on his same contract and we were struggling at the bottom this season. But due to the fact he is now on far more I think he is well due criticism if the team aren't performing. That is unless he takes a similar pay cut this season back to last years wage if we finish near the bottom, but somehow I cant see that happening....

    Gunnar Neilson

Ha! Well i've just got a new job in Barlanark so Im sure that will remind me more of home...

    Gunnar Neilson

I have actually followed Linfield since I was a season ticket holder as a boy and always try and catch them when I am back visting family in Belfast. I was back for the boxing day derby and was impressed with Mannus. He saved a penalty and look to command the area pretty well. He is also one of the few playes in the league that have ever got a call up for the National team so he could be a decent shout... Incidentely the match involved 3 goals, 4 yellow cards, a red card, 2 injuries, a saved penalty and a riot which stopped the game for 10 mins and called the riot police in... Fir Park will be so boring in comparison!

    Motherwell

Done but Im sure with the timing it will be all Motherwell fans with chips on their shoulders... ah well!
  17. I thought McGarry was a different player at the start of last season. He looked mega fit and playing really well... But i think a lot of that was to do with the form of those round about him. This year when everyone is playing poor he looks like an absolute passenger at times. He should never be played on the wing as he has no pace or skill to get past a player... Just think how bad Obrian must be in training if he cant get a look in when we are playing 442 ahead of McGaz!
  18. I agree he was the one of the few +'s last night... Although how many kids have we had 'high hopes' for even in recent years only for them to fade away... Kinniburgh, Fagan, Cowan to name a few.. Even players like McBride, Fitzy and Reynolds started to get it big time after a year or so... I just hope this lad has the bottle to take it from our fans when it starts to hit the fan...

    1) That was not in January 2) They were 'replaced' fair enough with nowhere near good enough quality or in a like for like basis but Sutton/O Brian came in to try and fill out the squad at least! There is no way we are gonna let 3 players go in Jan and bring no1 in! Although now ive said that it will blatantly happen!
  20. It feels like we have been saying that for years doesnt it?! I remember when we had just come out of the old firm and were going on a 9 game winning streak back to 3rd....

    Scouts

I am almost certain this will not happen! Why would any manager let 3 of his best players go AND not replace them!! The we would be left with 11 players who could comfortably start a first team game and even some of them havent played much this season! I dont care what you think of Quinn, Hughers or Porter this season (I personally agree they have been crap!) but they are among the best we can realisticly get on our budget and the empahasis should be getting them performing back to somewhere near last seasons level and not getting them out ASAP, that wont help us at all!

    Maroš Klimpl

Must agree with most on here. Thought he had a decent game, especially since he has just come back from a long time of no playing and in a new league. As mmmcgary said in the program he looks well agressive! But should give us some of the bite we have been missing. Ive always though reynolds/craigan/hammell are all too 'nice' to be defenders! On the down side he did seem to miss read a lot of headers and got caught on the wrong side of his man, but there is definately promise there. Id like to see him beside craigan with reynolds sitting in front of them.
  23. Looking forward to tonight... Seems like ages since last game as I was so excited for last Saturday when it looked like a great day, and it was cancelled! I reckon he will go with, Smith Krimpl Malcolm (Not sure whether he will play Krimpl or Boab at RB) Reynolds Hammell Murphy Hughes Lasley Fitzy Clarkson Porter I would like to see a midfield 3 of Shug/Las/Fitzy with Clarky/Ports/Murphy up front but Im not convinced Mcghee will play that.... I can also see him starting McGarry instead of Murphy but I hope Murphy gets a run out. I have liked McGarry but i think recently he has come undone when those round about him arent playing as well. Murphy gives us a better attacking option and we need to be more attacking tonight. Killie are there for the taking. 3 - 1 Well (Clarky, Hughes and Boab free kick)
  24. There was a bit in the record the other day about how he thought this was his big chance to get a decent move to the championship or something and make his money/get in the Scotland team! Therefore I doubt very much if he would come to us as 'a good back up to Buzz'! Plus the guy is a moaning face twat... always good when they are in your team tho i suppose!
