  1. that was an unbelievable 120 mins plus. said to my mate at end of 90 mins if we win this game people will be saying it's been one of the best games ever, lose it however & you'll never hear the end of how gash we were at the back, how Higdon never moves, how Murphy needs time on the bench etc, etc.

at the end of the day, gutted that we lost but at the same time got to say that this had the potential to have even more goals than the 6 each game but for some inspired goal-keeping by both keepers & some poor finishing by both teams.

defence was shaky but I still think we put a helluva lot into what was a cracking cup-tie.

As I said earlier, if we'd won on pens nobody would have been caring about the chances we gave away.

cannae be too hard on most of the team tonight cos they gave their all.

  2. im in the fr park club the now drinking diesel.

 Diesel? the last time ah drank that was in the Porty at Waterloo in about 1988. I thought that was illegal in pubs many moons ago. Mair chance ay a bag o glue & 5 eckies bein acceptable in a boozer these days!

    respect.

  3. The problem is if it is shut means that the Cooper bar is going to be even more heavin' than it has been so far this season. For the last few years the Cooper bar has been ideal for a pint or a quick hauf before the game but the last 3 home games it's been absolutely jam-packed with a Q 30 or 40 long half an oor before KO. Disnae take a genius to realise that place is a potential goldmine if they get it right. Once or twice they've put a bottle bar at the far end of the hall which makes a lot of sense. charge say £2.50 a bottle & you'll get loads of punters buying whilst making the club a fair whack in the process.

AND WHILE I'M AT IT TURN THE F*CKIN' HEATING OFF FOR THE "SUMMER" GAMES & SAVE THE CLUB A FORTUNE.

    THE PLACE IS A SWEATBOX!

    rant over. :drinks:

  4. Was told the semi buses were subsidised to attract punters along to the match.

    that's balls to be honest.

our bus was in the region of £200 for a 52 seater & I doubt the club would have been charged 500 quid for the same size of coach.

If they did they were totally ripped off.

  5. One more in Perth. The wife's uncle followed Well throughout the 70's after moving to the area from Alloa to work at the Craig. He was over last year for about six weeks & took in around 4 or 5 games after being away from Wishaw for over 30 years. He then called me on the Tuesday before the cup final asking if I could get him a ticket for the game saying he could get a flight the next day. I managed to get him one & he flew in for the game & away again the following Wednesday. No' even the result ruined the occasion for him. He said it was something he'd cherish the rest of his days.

So one more for your Aussie contingent!

  6. Croby coming from Sydney I believe :notworthy:

Got a phone call from the wife's uncle from Perth, Australia on tuesday at 6.45am asking if it was too late to get him a ticket. After a few desperate phone calls, email's & texts I managed to source him one through an old school mate (Cheers Willie  ). He's now flying over Thursday & going back to Oz next Wednesday.

    let's hope it's a worthwhile journey............

  7. Aye, fair play to the cooncil. when I heard there was bunting up, I was expecting green, white & gold fae that shower.

And to all the shop-owners in the precinct, again, well done. Pleasantly surprised to see the place awash wi' God's colours.

Noo let's get right into this mob on Saturday & gie the goodies in our area a reason to party!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Peter Grant getting smacked in the teeth = tremendous!!!!

magic memories. remember Psycho's first game back after the "TV evidence" ban he received after decking Grant. we had a shy right in front of the shed, wee O'Neill flung the baw up the air & elbowed it about 20 yards over to the player waiting to take the throw in wi' a cheeky grin to the boys on the terracing.

wisnae as funny a few months later when he tried to nip ma missus at a player of the year event in the Electric the wee chancer

Let him aff tho efter seeing they elbows in action.

  9. thought I would have no chance of getting tickets today after all the horror stories & clocking the Q earlier on when driving past. decided to have another quick jaunt down at 5pm. Q of about 30 or 40 at FP, so went down to the precinct expecting the worst. literally walked in, filled out the form & out with four tickets for the family in under 5 mins. Cannae complain at that & it's open til 6pm if anyone lives close enough. no Q, no fuss. sorted.:drinks:

  10. the hairs on the back of ma neck were standing up reading that.

    agreed.

the wee man ticks all the boxes for me so far. what else do we want from a manager & team?

cannae understand the bollocks spouted cos he's ex-Rangers.

was Butcher no' a "rangers man" & yet he got universal support.

at the end of the day the job done so far has been superb. Of course there will be glitches, we're Motherwell FFS, but when it comes down to it they are getting it right most weeks.

    Mon the Well.:woop:

  11. We could get the melting pot guys to have a wee pre match mod/northern soul do and we should do a street party in motherwell for the after show party after the final

    right up for that!

nae pressure Skin if you're reading this, but get it sorted son.

    you know it makes sense...........B-)

  12. Another good thing is when you read back match threads. The 6-6 game was priceless reading Hibs.net. This game is just as good on Jamboskickback - as is the thread on "why we will not beat Motherwell"

just read through that thread on the jambo's kickback forum.

comedy gold. the boy Disco was gettin' fuckin' pelters..............only to be proved right.

Well fan in disguise I hope!

    shower o' :wank:

  13. Fuck them! There fans paid premium prices for an Old Firm Final!

They both charged mental prices for their scottish cup games against each other this season too - £40 a skull or something, because they both knew they would sell out.

share your sentiments big man but don't be surprised if we get quoted daft arse rates for this yin.

the interest on here is enough to show how keen we aw are to be there. a wee whiff of that at the SFA & it's price-hike hello!

hope I'm wrong but we'll soon find oot.

  14. was planning on the full family going to the final but after speaking to OF fans at work today they told me the League cup final was £35 a ticket & they reckoned that will be the going rate for the SC final as well as any cheaper & you'll have a greetin' match on your hands from Rangers fans who paid the full whack for a lesser tournament.

    expect a dear yin troops.

  15. Evening all,

I'm Bill, family originally from Newarthill, Left for London when I was 16. Long time Chelsea fan, Moved back up the road a couple of years back (Mossend). My daughter started taking an interest in Football and I aint taking her to Chelsea with me so I've got her into following her local club instead of Joining the Old Firm band wagon like the majority of other kids seem to do. Got me and the wean a season ticket for this season and she has grown to love it. I've really enjoyed it too, Much purer, honest brand of football compared to the money obsessed version I go to down south.

She loved the semi at Hampden and is already counting the days until the final.

& a Weller fan judging by your name so decent taste in music as well as fitba.

    aw the best.B-)

  16. Some classic action from the 90's before mcleish intoduced the like of Ross, Denham, Christie and the likes. Nice seeing the cooper stand coming together anaw.

    magic memories there boss!

was at most if not all those games on the Dalziel Arms bus. Holy f*ck that was an experience!

some of the football we played in those days was the best I've ever seen in well over 30 years of following the Well.:drinks:

  17. I don't know if you know a Robert Hughes well he ran one to the semi the last time just a small 20 odd seater which probably reflects the higher than average price. Well he has done the same this time. drinks.gif

cannae think of the guy but maybe know him to see. I remember that other bus leaving Overtown for the LC semi-final as we went into the Clydesdale pub to wait for our Boogie bus. I put Jim onto you earlier so hopefully you get enough bodies to fill the bus.

hope we all enjoy our day out anyway mate.

    have a good yin. :drinks:

  18. There is a bus leaving from Overtown Community Centre with 4 seats available. If interested let me know. Bus leaving at 1030 and is £7 a head.

who's all going on the bus from Overtown mate? we took 20 odd from Overtown to the semi-final in a limo bus but no-one was willing to put their neck on the line to organise a coach this time so ended up with 7 or 8 of us booking the club buses from Fir Park.

loads of Well fans up here who as far as I know are all either going in cars or the club coaches.

just out of interest cos I'm a nosey c*nt, plus if I hear of anyone else looking for seats I can put them in touch with you.

  19. We didnt win this game but the one against Aberdeen in the 80s in the Scottsh at Fir Park when the sheep scored in the first minute and we pounded them for the rest of the game, the place was rammed and from that minute i knew Motherwell was the only team i wanted to follow,

    .

    remember that as well.

think it was Hewitt scored & we pummelled them for the next 89 mins & coudn't score.

remember going round to Muirhouse to get picked up after that & passed loads of 'Well boys launching hauf bricks at the Aberdeen buses that parked down towards the college & Our Ladies.

we always took a home defeat gracefully in those days :whistling:

  20. Tearing Hearts apart at Fir Park the season after we went into administration, we were drifting away at the bottom whereas hearts were riding high in third, pearo and faddy tore the jambos apart and we were 4-0 up after 30 odd mins, big David Partridge even hit a thunder bolt clerance off his own cross bar LOL, 6-1 win what a midweek game  . Same season beating rangers, celtic and Livi 6-2 all rank highly for me.

great shout for the top 5.

    what a game that was.

any of the techno-heids able to fire up highlights of that one?

    finger oot Yabba!!!

  21. Been too many games to mention, but heres some

    1. Skippy sunday 2-1 Motherwell

    2. Motherwell v Celtic 3-3

    3. Hearts 2-1 to get to the CIS cup final

    4. Kilmarnock 1-2. Strange choice here, we got beat at FP but we absolutely hammered them that day. Wave after wave of attack and somehow managed to lose.

    5. Dundee Utd 5-3. Obviously game will be remembered for other reasons, but anybody who was there witnessed a tremendous game for 75 minutes. Dont think the highlights were ever broadcast either so you would have to have been there to see it.

no 5 has been mentioned already & rightly so. Hard to remember how good a game that was before the nightmare near the end.

at 5-1 we were sitting in awe giving it how this is the best 'Well performance ever only for the back to earth comedown later that night.

probably fitting that we turned in that performance on such a tragic occasion cos everyone there will remember that as well as the following tragedy.
