    @Mitch

The difference is, it’s not like he’s unfit to “hit the standards” because he’s sitting on a couch eating crisps and taking the piss.

He’s injured, an injury he picked up playing for us.

If we apply the “real world” logic to injuries, we’ll have Digby Brown chapping the door soon enough.

I never suggested we sack him. Simply not renew his contract. Would be some employment lawyer to find a case with that action.

Its not quite the same though.  Craig Tanner was injured whilst carrying out his agreed duties at work.  It wasn't an injury sustained whilst away from his workplace or an unrelated illness.

It really isn’t that much different. If he is unable to hit the standards expected to play at our level then he should be released once his contract has expired. It’s the same that would happen in any other industry when an employee is on a fixed term contract. Somebody on a permanent contract, with no expiry date, is a different scenario all together. Those of course don’t exist for players at a football club.

My contract says my employer covers my wages for long term illness, not sack me.

But if you were an employee on a fixed term contract, would you expect your employer to renew that when it comes to an end if you were unable to hit the standards?

This isn’t a charity for injured footballers that we are running here.

it was a pretty shit thing to post

however , moving on from your thoughts on a guy that strides up and down the POD stand stairs each home game, to take his seat an watch his team mates play.

whats your thoughts on,  Motherwell dont release players that are injured , myth?

Sensitive little souls on here if that goes down as a shit thing to post.

It’s a business. If he isn’t fit enough to positively contribute to the team by the summer then he should be on his way. It isn’t a charity that we are running.

Edit to add that he was in fine form before his injury his injury and thought he was decent.

I agree that Robinson wont leave till the end of the season. Between now and then i'll be going to only a handfull of games. Im sure a lot of fans will feel the same. He should've went tail end of last year and now we're stuck with him.

His time is well and truly up. We should be bringing the new man in so he can assess the squad before the summer.

Robinson has a habit of just doing enough to relieve the pressure. I don’t think he will manage it this time.

Defeat on Wednesday and at Dens and he is gone!

I went to see them a couple of months ago. Dean Brill spent all game going ballistic at his defenders, and Clay spent all game watching the ball get lumped over his head. The quality of football was utter shite.

That level really is bollocks. Was at Guiseley v Maidstone towards the end of last season. The standard was worse than I expected. Not one of the players on the pitch would get a sniff of a game at Scottish League 1 level.

It's also my understanding that David Turnbulls' contract is up next May, so the priority at present should be to get him tied up for the next three or four years.

We should absolutely get him tied down, but would need to prove a bit more to warrant four years. Remember, we offered Ross Forbes a four year deal after a promising start!

I was pleased with yesterday with exception of Main and Bowman.  Difficult to fault their effort, but they need a dozen chances for one goal. Bowman had 3 guilt edge chances and took none of them. The header from 6 yards the worst of the lot.  It is for this reason we have struggled to take points and even last 2 games without Turnbull we could have got 2 points instead of 6.

The fact Bowman is paid money to be a footballer is shocking. His first touch is amateur level of pish and he appears to lack the ability of striking a ball with any real power. Whilst you can’t fault his effort, he is simply nowhere close to good enough for the top league.

Steven Lawless will now be plying his trade in the championship next year after Plastic Whistle get relegated.

Thistle fans expect that he will leave and be snapped up by a top league club. Seems he was one of the very few positives about the season for them.

Edit - Seems his destination is Perth on a pre contract going on the P&B rumours.
