  1. Thought we started well, however Killie completely bossed the majority of the first half. Sammon was giving Tait a bit of a roasting and their winger Jones was a threat for most of the match. Boyd could easily have had a hat trick in the first half as he rattled the bar and also missed a couple of free headers. There was very little to be positive about in the opening 45. Really positive to see that Robinson made the changes at half time, which were brave, however he didn't really have much to lose. We were far better in the second half and were the better side for large spells. Once we went 2-1 up, Killie did up the tempo a bit but we weather the storm without too much difficulty. At the game, I didn't think it was a penalty at the end, but reckon the referee for it spot on after seeing the highlights. The unsporting behaviour from our players before the penalty was taken was great! Well worth picking up the bookings. Thought McHugh was superb, along with Bowman when he came on. I am not convinced with Frear, but his delivery from set plays could be an excellent weapon. For the few who are wetting their knickers about Boyd. He gestured to the 'Well fans as he was getting pelters. Fair play to him for giving a bit back. Find it hilarious that people would get upset with that.
  2. Looks like the media have no idea who is going to be McGhee's replacement... Owen Coyle, sacked last month by Blackburn Rovers, and Kilmarnock caretaker Lee McCulloch have emerged as early contenders for the Motherwell manager's job after the sacking of Mark McGhee.(The Sun) Former Motherwell midfielder Simo Valakari, presently head coach of Finnish club SJK, has staked an early claim to be the Fir Park club's new manager following the sacking of Mark McGhee. (The Herald) Greenock Morton manager Jim Duffy, former Hibernian manager Alan Stubbs and former Motherwell midfielder Simo Valakari are among the early favourites to succeed Mark McGhee as team manager at Fir Park. (The Scotsman, print edition) Stephen Robinson is in pole position to become the permanent Motherwell manager after being named caretaker only two weeks after returning to Fir Park as first-team coach under the now sacked Mark McGhee. (Daily Record)
  3. Can anyone really see beyond Robinson getting the gig until the end of the season? Keep us up then he gets next season? I would be really surprised if we bring anyone in this side of the International break.
  4. Naysmith has not long went to QOS. Don't expect us to be looking at anyone who would require a compensation fee.
  5. An alcoholic bigot. What could possibly go wrong...
  6. Going to head down for this. Hoping we have a new manager in place, however I don't expect us to. Probably go with the same XI as Saturday and go down 2-0.

    Mcghee Out?

Prior to Saturday's match, I was in the give him more time camp. After another embarrassing display, he has to go. How much would it cost to pay up his contract to the end of the season? £10-15k? (I am working on the assumption that he will earn roughly £50-60k a year, but could be way off). Surely that is a figure that we can gamble on? I just don't see us staying up with McGhee at the helm. If he does manage to limp on until the end of May, then he should be away at the end of the season. If we manage to stay up and his contract is renewed then I don't see a massive uptake on season tickets next season as the support are at the point of no return with him. As for his replacement, I would love to say Simo Valakari. He recently left his side due to a fall out with the owner, but has an impressive track record at that level. My only worry would be that people would be calling for him to be sacked in the summer, if we were to be relegated. Whoever comes into replace McGhee (we aint at the replacing stage yet...) has to be given time.

    Mcghee Out?

Can we get anyone better than McGhee on the budget that we operate within? I am not convinced. The game against Dundee at home is massive for McGhee. I reckon he will see the season out, we will stay up and he will move on. Lets just hope that we don't regret him leaving in the same way that St Mirren fans do with Danny Lennon...
  9. There are two leagues which run in India. There is the Super League and a break away league (I League). The standard in the I League is dreadful but it runs until around April/May time. (Starts Dec from memory). Some of the owners of these clubs pump in loads of money to it. The guy that owns the Bangalore team is the owner of Royal Challenge (Booze company) and heavily involved with Tata Sky. Pumps money into both the football team and the cricket team which got to the final of the 20/20 in 2016.
  10. Barry Douglas (former Dundee Utd) is lined up to sign for us. Currently playing in Turkey for the last 12months but wants a move back to Scotland. Text this morning appeared to be from a fairly decent source.
  11. Luke Watt has returned after his loan spell at Stranraer. Never heard much about how he performed.
  12. Speaking to a Notts County supporting mate, seems Louis Laing will be heading back to Fir Park. They are not impressed at all with him!
  13. I understand Imrie is suspended for this one, which I reckon is a plus! I would go with the same XI that won up north during the week, assuming McHugh is fit enough for the two matches is short space of time.
  14. I reckon Blyth & Kennedy are more down to not being in McGhee's plans. Would be good to get them out the door in January but not sure there will be many clubs interested!
  15. Would bite your hand off for a point, however I see nothing but a convincing Hearts win in this one. I really hope I am wrong.
  16. So by something different you suggest we go with a lesser standard of player than at present? Tait is so far down the list of right backs to be considered for Scotland that he wouldn't even make a Scotland C side. The only player in our side at present who has even a remote chance of playing for Scotland is Cadden. Even then he will have to go south and play regularly at a decent level to be considered.
  17. Absolutely no chance. He is, at best, a SPL standard right back.
  18. Was speaking to a mate who watches Notts County most weeks. Laing has not impressed very much down there. Chat is that they want rid of him. Seemed disappointed as he liked him when he was on loan to them before!
  19. A Motherwell manager with 40%+ win record cannot be considered for the chop. Would welcome any argument against that! I appreciate McGhee the man is a bit of a tosser, however as a football manager he is as good as we are likely to get at this level.
  20. Scottish Manager? Coyle not Irish? That famous Irish town of Paisley...
  21. Loves the sound of his own voice does that fella!
  22. A new guy doing the match day announcer is more of a priority...

    Pre Season?

Samson should have been coming for Hibs 1st and 3rd. Hammell had a stinker. Really needs to up his game. Shit day and worrying performance.
  24. Carl McHugh from Plymouth. Anchor man midfielder. On paper, looks a good signing. Think the Plymouth locals might be a little miffed... http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/carl-mchugh-signs-as-four-exit-at-plymouth-argyle-herald-sport-reaction-on-big-day-at-home-park/story-29468702-detail/story.html
