EDIT: maybe someone could confirm but I think I picked up that some of the present board contributed some of their personal shares to the total that is held in trust for the society to ensure that a full 75% was achieved ensuring the society controls the future of the club
I think it was to facilitate the setting up of the society (FSA regs I think were cited). Jim McMahon went on to say that just over 50% was needed to effectively control the club.
The figure of two years from formation was definitely cited, so I understood up until Nov/Dec 2013 if an offer was put in then John would benefit regardless of status, however Derek Weir said nobody had approached so far and he wasn't expecting any due to the financial climate at present.

How I understood it Gaag is if Motherwell are approached within 2 years of the Society being set up AND the board felt it was right to sell, all cash injected by society members would be returned and John Boyle would benefit from whatever the new owner would inject to secure the controlling interest.
Only issue I have with the scheme is yet again we're going after the same people who already contribute for yet more money. We have a reasonably large pool of interested people out there who have dipped their toes in or around FP in the recent past (10,000 at Odense, 18,000 Scottish Cup Final, average home gate 10 years ago was 1,000 more than now). The only new business/revenue streams seem to be some of the 1886 group of local business owners and overseas fans who have limited opportunity to contribute to the club for obvious reasons.

We all gave Celtic Research's twitter account a hard time for what in essence they do, and here you are doing the same thing, scouring any posts for someone criticising your boy only to jump in with a half arsed argument and claim they're being unfair.
You brought Scotland's current ranking into the debate with reference to .... surprise, surprise, Chris Humphrey and Jamaica.

FIFA rankings have always been a subject to discuss, but i have only highlighted Scotlands ranking, Scotland are not as good as we think they are, i would not be confident that Scotland could beat any team in the top 30 at present, we have some great players individually but thats about it, the sooner Scottish team selectors start looking outside the old firm in the SPL for players the better, yes the EPL provides the classy players but do they really enjoy playing for there Country , i dont think so, Motherwell are sitting 2ND in the SPL thus far and there is not one player anywhere near the Scottish first 11.... This is wrong but it wont change untill the routes of the game change in Scotland, our poor performances in Europe just highlight our poor ranking in the world, Motherwell have been the only team in the last 3 seasons to actually show some fight in Europe, and yet none of our players are considered good enough.
Well you didnae really, you highlighted Scotland's ranking as part of an argument in your unrelenting bid to build the stock of Chris Humphrey. I wonder if he's ever told you to calm it?
Also .................. there's a few full stops for you, feel free to pepper them into your sentences.
However is Chris subject to a transfer? If he is then its January at the earliest so maybe this debate is best discussed in another thread that's specific.

For me its between Tom and Nicky, I voted for Tom as he's returned to form after quite a few detractors singled him out for extra criticism and chipped in with one particularly critical strike. Not to mention he seems a lot more composed on the ball.
I'm sure Nicky will win a few through the season, so I don't feel so bad.
I'd also venture that Forbes would have been in for a shout, in the games he has played he's not done much wrong. So based on the fact he's being used infrequently then he deserves some recognition at least.

Fair point Al, likewise never seen it tackled from that angle. The only thing that may upset the apple cart in that summary is Hearts, who continue to spend regardless of income.
With respect to the French guy, I've pretty much heard the same, apparently he's quite a find.

Maybe "Enjoy watching him while you can" may be considered as suggesting the opposite. It's being realistic, if we offer him improved terms in January similar to Humphrey and he extends a year then ideal.
The difference between him and say Jennings is, he's younger, ambitious (he took the concious move with his agent to come to us as a stepping stone), Rotherham fans were gutted to see him leave, he's hit the ground running and been in the top 3 of the MotM in almost every game and he is a creative middle to front player which many managers see as the key position.

Omar Daley released by Bradford City, to renew his friendship with the Gaffer! seems like a good move, plays either left or right hand side winger, would free up Murphy (Should he stay) to play in his natural position up front.
Might be a Good shout!

Uninspiring in late August, maybe we'll all be fawning over how great he is in mid October.
One thing is certain, football is littered with countless players that have went under the radar at one club and moved and been a sensation at their next.
Hope its not a waste of a wage, as pointed out a few of our competitors have found a few wee gems.

Look ..... you like the guy, that's obvious. You may even be related or consider him an acquaintance (you've never shared your relationship on here but I guess its more than admiring from distance). But continually leaping to his defence when on a number of occasions he's guilty as charged means a number of people are turning to what Andy summarised.
I'd guess around 90% of your posts appear to feature him, where as almost everyone else spreads their time on here discussing all sorts of MFC issues and players. There is more to this club than one player who has 18 months left (for now) in C&A.
Back onto the topic, Omar, sounds like a porn star, if he's cheap and offers competition then all good.

Went into this game with high hopes. And to be fair for the first bit of the game I felt we played them off the park. However reality set in when you remember their players man for man are generally better than ours. When they broke (despite all our neat intricate play in the middle third of the park) they looked dangerous and on occasion it was like a hot knife through butter as we were very exposed and tactically naive.
Upon reflection I looked again at the summary of the St. Mirren game and found a lot of it echoed today. St. Mirren played nice passing football, enjoyed the lion's share of possession, however we had all the meaningful chances, drive and ultimately won.
The last 30 minutes were played at pre-season friendly pace and that annoyed me more than anything else. More so because a good number of this team were involved in the 3-3 Hearts game last season and the 6-6 too where that attitude would have left us with nothing.
I do feel we've rode our luck at times so far this season and it was only a matter of time until a better team exposed that. Too many slack balls in the midfield transferring possession and a plan to break Rangers down with neat triangles and probe a blue wall stationed 18 yards out rather than a counter attack or God forbid a shot from distance that troubled McGregor.
I wouldn't agree that everyone hasn't been critical of Murphy, I can't count how many games he's started spritely then went AWOL for anything from 30 minutes to an hour in the middle of the match. Today was another example. Higdon had a thankless task, but I do think Sutton was more intelligent in the way he challenged and played against centre halves. Higdon will come good however his judgement and timing were again out of sync.
I thought both our centre backs played well and am encouraged week on week that Hateley is returning to some of the form he's exhibited in the past. I also thought Law would be used more on the wing, but he seems to be employed more in a central role. Naismith and Davis were excellent and provided good covering back and that bit extra up front.
A positive for me was Humphrey improved on what I've seen so far, one of few memorable moments was his drag back and angling into the box in the first half. Still too many questions about his game for me which I think would have been helped if he came on as an impact player from the bench in this particular encounter. I really don't know Forbes has to do to retain his place in this team and therefore feel for him (granted I don't see him daily in training), however a sub or two even from our light bench was certainly merited.
Finally, 4 cops to remove a 13 year old when bile still bubbles under the surface in the South seems to me to be counter to the setting up of this task force.

There is nothing to apologise for, as tottenmfc puts it, you're clutching at straws citing this as a convoluted and tenuous link.
Despite Dazzer sending me a PM citing his hurt, I will not rescind it unless asked to do so by a moderator/admin. And even then there would have to be adequate justification rather than knee-jerk reaction because the PC police kick in.
