Motherwell manager Ian Baraclough on BBC Radio Scotland Posted at 17:31 "Not the kind of result, not the kind of performance and I have now seen it myself now - that has apparently happened a few times. "We have to take it on the chin, pick ourselves up for a game in three days' time and can't feel sorry for ourselves. "It is one way you see the character of a player when the chips were down and one or two were not up to it. "We've been out fought and out battled. I am not being disrespectful to Hamilton, but they did not outplay us, they worked harder than us and we have to make sure we have the right characters who will battle for the claret and amber." I wasn't there, but to say a team that beat us 5-0 didn't outplay us is astonishing .

Agree. I think we've been blessed with some great goalies in Ruddy and Randolph so it's only natural for people to compare Dan with them. He's not in their class , but is a decent goalie IMO. Doesn't stop us looking for some competition for the jersey though !
-
Unless our boys are able to pick up Bara's ideas pronto, I fear we will get beat by a decent Thustle team. I reckon 1-2 to the Harry rags. Bah humbug
-
This is painful viewing on Alba. Two bad lots as my uncle used to say. Agree that we don't have the players for a slow , possession build up play. Hopefully Bara will use his contacts and get some fresh faces in during transfer window. A wins a win though and the team should get a confidence boost no matter

Tom Hateley Grew, but take your point. There's been no creativity or final ball for a long time

Noticed this snippet on BBC gossip page. Thought that was called a pub ! St Mirren fans will be able to buy alcoholic drinks at a specially constructed fan zone outside their stadium on Saturday afternoon. (Daily Mail)

Hoping the feelgood factor will see us scrape a win . 2-1 Well

Better not be a Kampmann style summer wrt quality! He signed a tractor load of shite like Jed Stirling, Brian McLair mk 2, Rob Matthei, another wee Dutch winger whose name escapes me......all photographed on the club tractor I seem to remember. PS Jan Michels was the other one

Jesus , they've been in as big a slump as us and have lost their manager. All the team should get a lift from a new manager with new ideas coming in and a week to prepare for the game
-
Don't think it will be Gary Stevens ( his assistant at Sligo) . Wiki says he's manager of Army United in Thailand , started August

Sligo fans have only good things to say about his time there by the looks of it. Have asked one to post on here with more details from a fans viewpoint .

Coolhandluc Today, 10:28 http://www.bqlive.co.uk/2014/10/03/forging-a-better-business-future-for-scotland/ So our new backer is a true steelman in every sense of the word. Sounds like we could do worse than utilise his common sense and business knowledge on the board too Seems a better thread for this link

Incoming manager Ian Baraclough watched from the stands as the Staggies scored in the 93rd minute through Tony Dingwall to deny his new side victory. Dingwall had earlier given the visitors the lead before John Sutton and Henrik Ojamaa scored for Motherwell. Baraclough wants the current coaching staff to work with him but Black is unsure of his future, and he said: "We will probably have a chat over the next few days and see what develops. "Certainly the manager has indicated that he would like to work with the current coaching staff. "It's been quite a whirlwind over the last 24 hours. Things have happened very quickly and there has been a lot to take in. “New ownership, new management and the game today - there are a lot of things I need to think about. "I don't know Ian Baraclough but then I didn't really know Stuart (McCall) on a personal basis either and we did okay for four years. It's just different when you've been working with someone."
-
By the way , I heard on BBC sportsound just before KO that Barraclough had asked Kenny Black to stay on , assume as no.2 . Seems to be some confusion over this on here with suggestion of Craigan ? coming in Sorry posted on wrong thread

Dan had some great saves again, but when the opposition is putting us under pressure with corner after corner , that's when you need a goalie to come for cross balls. Ainsworth must be the laziest player to wear claret and amber since Paul Kinnaird. Hope the new boss can instil some worth ethic into his undoubted ability, then he will be an asset .

Looks like he will kick some arses. Welcome to Motherwell !!

Probably been mentioned but from BBC website , Flow says "We spoke to two people [on Friday] and both interviews were absolutely excellent, very encouraging. If nothing happened on Monday, we'd still feel confident we could have at least a decision between two so that's how good it was. '' (supposedly Butcher and Van der Gaag) -
Two teams fighting for their lives. This has got a draw written all over it I think. Unless big Mitch is announced as the boss.....in which case it's 5-0 to the mighty
