  1. The current MyPa team are nowhere near as good as the one we played to be honest. I'd love Valletta, nice trip to Malta in the middle of July and the game would be palyed at Ta'Qali, the national stadium. Certain there's no regional stuff anymore.

    Who Was

    At Mechelen ... Maman
  3. Think the answer given was Ian Skelly. However, that was the first time a sponsor appeared on a Motherwell first-team shirt and therefore Scottish Brewers was surely the right answer. Stelrad, I think, was a youth sponsorship.
  4. The club's first ever shirt sponsorship deal (first XI). I remember an association quiz night a few years ago, our team lost by 1 point to a team lead by a certain James McFadden. One of the questions was name our first shirt sponsor - we answered Scottish Brewers but were marked as being wrong! Not to worry, if you must lose then as long as it's to the likes of Faddy it aint so bad.......
  5. And the Old Firm then get all the awards for winning this and winning that, another "remarkable season" for Wattie Smith who has had a budget which was in excess of everyone else put together (bar one other obvious exception). I'd really love to see the likes of Smith manage a team on a budget say what we have, or Falkirk, or whatever. That's real management.
  6. You'd be at about 10-12000 feet max.
  7. Alan Main and his belly flop after Wacko's equaliser. GIRUY.

Sporting Life says.... Craig Brown has revealed agents have approached him offering to attempt to negotiate a move to Celtic. But the Motherwell manager has dismissed suggestions he could act as a mentor for Neil Lennon at Parkhead. The 69-year-old has moved to deny speculation he could be recruited as an experienced figure to work alongside Lennon, who was installed as interim boss following the departure of Tony Mowbray. Brown - who enjoyed a successful campaign at Fir Park and led Motherwell to a Europa League spot - has had no talks with the Celtic hierarchy. He told the Evening Times: "I've had no contact whatsoever with Celtic, although I've had a couple of agents phoning to ask if they would like to represent me and put my case to the club. I said no to them." Republic of Ireland national team boss Giovanni Trapattoni has also been linked with a move to the Celtic management team to work with Lennon.
  10. Not quite as bad, it was only 4-0..............
  11. That'd be ironic, Hoffenheim pissed us about a few years ago.
  12. Craggs gets NIron Captaincy........ Stephen Craigan to captain NI against Turkey and Chile Motherwell skipper Stephen Craigan will captain Northern Ireland on their two-match tour next week. Craigan has been handed the armband because regular captain Aaron Hughes and vice-captain Maik Taylor will both miss the tour. Northern Ireland will play Turkey in Connecticut in US on Wednesday before facing a trip to South America to face World Cup finalists Chile in Chillan. Craigan, is set to win his 47th and 48th caps on the tour. The 33-year-old centre-back recently signed a new one-year deal at Fir Park. "Stephen is the most experienced player in the squad - he's an old campaigner," said Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington. "So it is only right and proper he gets the armband. He has done really well for his club and is a great professional."
  13. Confirmed. ....... Europa League boost for Hibs as John Hughes' side are placed among third round seeds May 21 2010 By Alan Marshall HIBS' hopes of qualifying for the Europa League group stage soared last night when they earned a place among the seeds. The boost came after Sevilla beat Atletico Madrid 2-0 in the Spanish Cup Final. The result promoted Getafe, who have a higher co-efficicent than Hibs, into the play-offs and kept Norwegians Nordsjaelland, who have a lower co-efficient, in the third qualifying round. The Easter Road club were expected to be unseeded in the draw on July 16, placing them in line for a tough draw against a side such as Liverpool, Juventus, Sporting Lisbon, Stuttgart or Galatasaray. Now they have an improved chance of joining Dundee United in the play-offs for the group stage. Should Motherwell progress from the second qualifying round, in which they will be seeded, they will also be seeded with Hibs in the draw for the third round. Both clubs have the same co-efficient but Motherwell will be one place above their SPL rivals in the rankings because of their participation in last season's tournament. However, all of Scotland's three representatives would be unseeded in the play-offs and would risk ties against sides such as Porto, PSV, Bayer Leverkusen, PSG, Manchester City and Aston Villa.
  14. Thought his goal at Ibrox last game was a damn good finish to be honest.
  15. Has the fizz gone out for Giles here? Skysports.com understands Championship trio Bristol City, Sheffield United and Swansea City are interested in signing Motherwell's Giles Coke on a free transfer. Midfielder Coke has been in fine form for the SPL side this season, and has been watched by a number of scouts from Championship clubs. The former Northampton Town player recently scored twice in the club's historic 6-6 draw against Hibernian. Coke initially signed a one-year deal when he joined Motherwell last summer, with the player having the option of extending it for another year. Whilst Coke has the option to extend his stay at Fir Park, he is spending the summer break considering his future. Coke is also on the radar of Scottish Cup winners Dundee United.
  16. Seems we have a friendly pencilled in for July 10th away to Ayr. I imagine possibly at least one more prior to that..... Craigie Broon Speaks
  17. Would like a Maltese side away, middle of July that'd be terrific.
  18. Tell you what, hope United need a similar favour in the future. They can go and royally rodger themselves.
  19. I know, it just seems to imply something different because it states Q4 beside us and Dundee United. Not at all clear if you look at that!
  20. See, I'm confused. 13 Scotland 27.875 ---------------------------------------- CL1=Glasgow Rangers 56.158 (ch/GS) CL2=Celtic 38.158 (ch/Q3) CW=Dundee United 5.158 (eu/Q4) EL2=Hibernian 6.158 (eu/Q3) EL3=Motherwell 6.158 (eu/Q4) Does this not imply we are in round 4 and Hibs in a round earlier?
  21. We're all going to Europe, we're all going to Europe, na na na na, na na na na!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Tell you what, whoever got them boots has a real piece of history there!
  23. Lukas again tells Everton to let us have him...... Jutkiewicz keen to stay at Motherwell Lukas Jutkiewicz clearly sees his future away from Everton and would like to make the move to Motherwell over the summer. The 21-year-old striker spent the season in the Scottish Premier League and scored 12 goals in 33 matches. A fairly decent return, but the current state of the SPL shows that Jutkiewicz is unlikely to have impressed to much and its probably fair to the player to just allow him to move on and build a career at Motherwell where he is clearly settled and happy. 'It would be a shame if Everton were to price me out of a move here,' Jutkiewicz told the BBC. He added: 'It wouldn't make sense to ask too much because I'm obviously out of contract next year.' Jutkiewicz went on to say: next year I'd love to see myself here. Fingers crossed that can happen. 'Unfortunately it's not completely in my hands, having a year left on my contract with Everton.
  24. Aint got one handy! But as I understand it, Hibs are easily the best run club in the country followed by Saint Mirren. We're not badly run at all, just haven't benefited from the substantial recent tranfers Hibs have.
  25. They aint exactly highly rated themselves....
