The Game Is On!

The snow on just now is a fairly narrow band of snow, won't last all that long and it's fairly fast moving.
3. Certainly is! Park is looking absolutely smashing.

Bbc Alba

It'll be delayed probably later that evening or before the Saturday game, no way I think they'd be allowed to go up against the regular Sky/ESPN showing.

BBC Alba have now announced a couple more appearances for Motherwell. Saturday, 02 Jan 2010 Motherwell v Hamilton Wednesday, 27 Jan 2010 Falkirk v Motherwell Saturday, 20 Feb 2010 Motherwell v Hibernian
6. I am beginning to wonder how much the speculation surrounding McInnes with the now vacant post at Tannadice will affect Saint Johnstone. Always has an effect on a team, and if he goes or looks like going I think their players might well have their minds somewhat distracted.

Jim O'Brien

McGhee now admits there's not even £20K in their budget. Why would anyone want to go and play there, can't imagine O'Brien believes this is a step up in any way when, in order to get new players in, they will clearly have to sell and sell big time..... Mark McGhee hopes to land Motherwell's Jim O'Brien for free - and admitted Aberdeen can't buy anyone, reports the Scottish Sun. The Dons have opened talks to take the midfielder to Pittodrie under freedom of contract in the summer. Well boss Jim Gannon would let former Celtic kid O'Brien go when the transfer window opens - but only for a £20,000 fee. But McGhee insists his cash-strapped club can't even afford that and is prepared to wait. He said: "We are attempting to persuade Jim to sign a pre-contract which would see him join us in the summer. "He has told us through his agent that, while he's interested in what we have to say, he doesn't want anyone to question his commitment to Motherwell. "He wants to keep giving his best while he is still at Fir Park, which is admirable. "I doubt anything will happen soon as we haven't had any contact back from Motherwell. "But from what I'm reading, if we want to take him in January they will require a small fee. "Well we won't have a small fee to pay for him or anyone, which is why I am lining things up for summer. "If something happens quicker than that then great, but I won't be holding my breath. "We still hope to get Paul Marshall from Manchester City either on loan or if he's freed, but he looks like the only one. "There's no money in the pot, but I knew that when I came here, so I'm not going to start bleating about it now. "I'd love to have some money as there are players out there who would improve our chances of doing what we want to do. "But we are not in that position, so we can't start moaning about it now."
8.
Connerton linked with Motherwell move
Monday 21st December 2009 SCOTTISH Premier League giants Motherwell are close to signing Lancaster City’s Jordan Connerton. The youngster has already had a trial at Fir Park and impressed boss Jim Gannon. http://nln24.com/uploads/large/c27c2e99fc4...83c50772102.JPGTransfer target: Lancaster City's Jordan Connerton The Lancaster-born striker started his career with amateurs Marsh United and made his debut for Lancaster City at 16, making a couple dozen appearances in the Conference North. Connerton, 20, has got 26 goals so far this term in the UniBond North and a move to Motherwell looks increasingly likely with a loan move almost agreed. Connerton’s form this season has interested many clubs and several league scouts clubs have been present at Lancaster games to watch him but it looks as if he will be moving north of the border. Lancaster boss Tony Hesketh doesn’t believe it will be a problem for the prolific striker though and tells the Manchester Evening Telegraph: “Jordan has enjoyed a phenomenal six months and we are talking to the interested club again. “He is a natural goalscorer, a very athletic boy, but his all-round game gives him a great chance of making it professional. “He did well in his trial in Scotland and if he makes the move, then I’m sure he will do well because he has the right attitude.”

Jim O'Brien

Boss McGhee keen on O’Brien By Charlie Allan Published: 21/12/2009 ABERDEEN FC boss Mark McGhee today confirmed they have moved closer to signing Motherwell winger Jim O’Brien. McGhee has opened talks with the 22-year-old and his agent aimed at persuading O’Brien to sign a pre-contract agreement next month. The Aberdeen FC manager has also informed the Steelmen that they have made a move for O’Brien and it’s expected Aberdeen FC will follow that up by making an offer of about £20,000 in an effort to persuade the Fir Park club to part with him earlier. 10. I'd have thought not. Compared to us, they have massive debts. We are surely a better financial proposition than they are.

Jim O'Brien

Didn't see O'Brien yesterday, but have to say on this appearances since the Sheepeymehs story broke he's been worse than a man short. I'd rather have folk who want to wear the claret and amber and, based on that, won't be missed.
12. Can't quite remember, but I'm pretty certain we were denied an absolute stonewaller after scoring the second and before the break. Exactly when I can't recall....
13. See the more I think about it, the penalty was denied at 2-3 and not 2-4. Going in 3-3 at the break would have been a world of a difference and the game was such we could've caused damage that day. Thought I'd dig up the detail, sure we pulled it back to 2-3 then broke forward and should've had the chance for 3-3. No pen, and up the park they went with Baldy Rowbotham clearly in no forgiving mood for us delaying the 9-in-a-row party... Rangers 6(4) - 2 (2) Motherwell Wallace 20, 42, 70 Kemble 18 Rozental 29 (p) McCulloch 41 Tugay 90 (p) Rangers: Klos ,Moore (Nicholson ,76 ) ,Amoruso ,Wilson ,Kanchelskis (McCann ,25 ) ,Ferguson ,Van Bronckhorst ,Albertz ,Tugay ,Rozental (Dodds ,46 ) ,Wallace Subs not used: Penttila,Mark Brown, Motherwell: Goram ,Corrigan ,Kemble ,McGowan ,McMillan ,Brannan ,Valakari ,Curcic (Nicholas ,56 ) ,Twaddle (Nevin ,40 ) ,Adams (Harvey ,79 ) ,McCulloch Subs not used Woods,Strong, Bookings: Brannan ,McCulloch ,McGowan (Motherwell) Attendance: 49622 Referee: John Rowbotham (Scotland)
14. I remember that 6-2 game well. Benny Kemble opened the scoring for us with a bullet header, and just before half-time at 2-4 we were denied an absolute stonewaller of a penalty which could've made it 3-4 and very interesting after the break....
15. TBH Rangers have hit a fair bit of form just now. I know a good few of their fans didn't expect them to win at Tannadice, never mind do them so comfortably by 3-0. We had a dire day, they took full advantage. Must, must win next Saturday.
16. Funny you should say that. On the radio someone commented on how the young guys had nobody with any serious experience to turn to on the park. That's a humiliation today. Been a long, long time since we had a hammering like that at Greyskull. And my Boss would have been there, gonna be a long, long day at work on Monday..........
17. Charlton Boss speaks. Much like we already know, Yass's Agen is bullshi**ng them too.... MOTHERWELL have told Charlton they would like to extend Yassin Moutaouakil’s loan deal in January. The defender joined the Scottish side in August on a temporary basis, but the terms of that deal end next month and Addicks boss Phil Parkinson has revealed Motherwell are keen to keep hold of the player for a bit longer. “Motherwell have mentioned to us they would like to extend it,” he said. “There are one or two other clubs who his agent tells us are interested, so we are really just waiting for developments on that. “He hasn’t told us who those clubs are and we haven’t had the calls ourselves, but as you know agents work in the background and we've given the agent permission to try and find Yassin a club.”
18. Just seen him score a brilliant goal at Chelsea not long afer signing for Bolton on Sky Sports - Premiership Years form 1995 there. He was certainly a legend! This little quote I found was interesting....
19. Aye, meant second at home. Third overall of course. Still, that's not too shabby.
20. We seem to be the Man City of the SPL at the moment. Although we suffered only our second defeat of the league season on Saturday, Man City suffered only their second tonight. And they are also only one win in ten, whilst we are one in 9. 8 Draws from 17, ours is 8 from 15. Pity we don't have their cash........
21. Mark - Back to the visit from Rangers when we had the 87th minute penalty. Had your boy stepped up to take it, how do you think you'd have felt?

Jim O'Brien

Mebbes just to say to them make a reasonable, non-insulting offer then?
23. Rickoza

Jim O'Brien

Why not? If they want to play funny beggars with a relatively small offer for a player?
24. Rickoza

Jim O'Brien

What about calling their bluff? Swap you O'Brien for Pawlett?
25. They're talkin shite. Pitch is in great condition for this time of the year.
