  1.

if we were in a relegation battle because our budget had cut dramatically or because other teams have improved significantly then the focus wouldn't be on the manager but that's not the case.

Maybe it's passed over you, but the budget has been cut year on year for the past 3 or 4 seasons.

I don't know who calls the shots regarding budget, but it really hacks me off that the club have a perpetual part time club mentality. They constantly shoot themselves in the foot, with bad decisions on and off the park.

Take the decision to pay the bonus money couple seasons back that resulted in posting a loss in the accounts. Why did the do that!?! What company would actively payout money knowing it would affect them! Then you have the signings of certain players who have more or less been warming the bench for the last few seasons getting 2 year contracts. Again, Why? Surely it would be better to use the same money to try someone else? Worse case scenario they will warm the same bench that the original bench warmer was. The club seem well aware that money is a tight resource, yet fritter it away with bad choices. This season is the result of said bad choices causing the budget to be cut to a point it's reflecting on the park.

  2. Motherwell have not lost 4 games in a row for quite some time. A defeat would signal a mini crisis which although explained in part by missing 1st team players, is still not acceptable given that the stand-ins should be good enough to create some sort of competitive performance. A score draw is within the team, they just need to come out the traps at full pelt and give saints a shock. Ojamma, Law and Ainsworth are all in the team FFS. That's enough pace to trouble most SPFL sides.

  3. All the drama of a radio commentary is what i love about them...

The dons game last xmas when it was reaching the final mins, and willie miller though they scored the equalizer, only to find out it was the side netting and go into a big huff about it and storm off!.. brilliant.

  4. The team will not be in a relegation battle. Despite screwing up by giving away three penalties over two matches?!?! Overall play that i've seen so far has been similar to last year, with Law giving some hope of some good inter play with Vigurs, Sutton and Ainsworth. A solid replacement for Hutch to cure the goal against record of last season, with more of erwin this season and moore coming back at xmas.

  5. F*** me, some guys are never happy! A 6' 7" defender (actual height!!) in the SPFL would lap up crossed balls at corners with ease, for clearances, knock downs or just goals! Has played a good number of games, and doesn't seem to have been benched by any teams he's played for. Would slot in with McManus perfectly and be one of the best pairing in the league. So good, i doubt it will happen.

  6. Of course we're not trying to cost ourselves money!

The facts are that the various bodies required to make games like this go ahead are currently occupied elsewhere (the same reason why there are virtually no other senior club playing football in West Central Scotland on this weekend) so it was either take the game and play it behind closed doors, or don't take the game at all. We had looked into several other fixtures against teams from England that may have made it possible for fans to attend (hence the delay in actually confirming) but nothing would quite work.

Given the pertinent points people make about having games - and Betis XI will be the eighth of the summer thus far - and the time between the last game and St Mirren, no fixture wasn't an option.

You are aware there is a full fixture list for the Scottish Communities League cup this Saturday. 14 games in Scotland being played in total. I take it they also have had trouble getting stewards in, and will just tell the crowd to be on their best behaviour?!?!

  7. Where do we go from here? Quite simply we as a club need to grow a set and address this pathetic losers mentality that we are riddled with from top to bottom. Debacles like last night are continually shrugged off with 'we ain't Barcelona, we're punching waaaay above our weight' all while such results, along with the cup failures are financially damaging us and serious questions should be being asked of the manager, players, preparation tactics and fitness.

    :notworthy:

  8. That is a solid first 11, but if 2 or more get injured at same time the squad is very bare. would like to see at least another 3 players come in for cover and to keep things competitive. -- and yes i know the team have nae money, just making the comment that the team could come foul of being too tight with the sqaud numbers.

  9. Bangor have a new ground which holds 3,000 but last won in Europe in 2010, they have lost heavily in 2 out of the last 3 years.

i think that is 3000 standing, and 1500 seated.

the Iceland teams capacity is not an issue as i can't see anymore that 100 odd absolute max going to Iceland.
