  1. I've no even had a reply never mind a piece.
  2. Pretty good draw, we have every chance of beating Celtic at home if we get past St Mirren, would say it would be very difficult if we were drawn away so at home we have a chance on the divot park, anything can happen as long as we don't arse around with the formation.
  3. pm sent mate, I will take them off your hands, don't be throwing them in the bin
  4. Did Dalziel Park not recruit their groundstaff from Fir Park
  5. I would prefer Motherwell v Forfar Aberdeen v Celtic We can only dream. I'm just pleased we didn't fuck it up like last season, got to admit after the first half and the formation I was bricking it. We are still in it and you need to be in it to win it. Mind we went to cappilow for a replay after playing up in Aberdeen. Not the same teams this year but similar locations and circumstance. Is this the year? I hope so.
  6. Bloody hell I missed this post the first time I read this thread and I also forgot about that game, now after a few beers and thinking back John Philliben equaliser in that game was mental, the racket we generated banging on the sheeting was loud, everyone was so hyper it was unbelievable. I had to check back to make sure I had the ticket stub for the game and was not just imagining it. The players left the park right under us yeah what a day. This site really does bring back some memories.
  7. Got to agree with most above Jim O'Brien put in a solid performance today and gets my vote, St Mirren offered nothing of an attacking threat and on the two occasions they did our defence was caught out, we got out of jail at the end, losing the first goal was unlucky as Dorman got the break of the ball afer a super block by Hammell but still I can't give it to a defender. Fitzpatrick, Hughes and Lasley were average, thats being kind to Fitzpatrick, Clarkson played off the scraps without getting much support first half. It did change second half. I think having a good look at Sheridan he will do us a turn, more mobile than Sutton and could bang in a few goals for us. Smith looks hungary, he should have been on start of second half along with Sheridan, I couldn't work out taking Lasley off and leaving Fitzy on when he was ineffective today, mind you the starting line up baffled everyone in the stadium and why changes were not made after 20 mins is everyone's guess apart from Mark McGhee's. Anyway Jim O'Brien stood out for me
  8. Hard to beat any of the above mentioned, however 1 that sticks in my mind as pure bedlam was when Ian Ross scored the winner v Celtic think 96. The game jamie Dolan went in goals and we won 2-1 in the last minute
  9. I was thinking, what if a guy turns up at the electric tomorra with a Panda suit on, would he get a slap for being on the forum Can't wait for this game now, lets hope we have learned from last season and take our time to win this game. Don't think I will be visiting the bookies before it though.
  10. What a night, cheers for the links Numpty, great to watch again, I collect all programmes from games but that one and ticket is framed. The convoy of buses from Fir Park was something how many was there again? Fitzpatrick has a special place within the Motherwell support for that goal alone, fantastic.
  11. So, in short, Motherwell played to their strengths, we couldn“t handle their game plan and Well picked up a deserved victory? Put it down to lack of experience from the manager? -------------------------------------------------------------------- I would agree with that After all these years the buddies are still hurting......Magic The crowd was amazing that day, Fir Park was jam packed and could possibly have been a lot more than the 27 thousand offficial attendance
  12. Does anyone know if Sheriden is cup tied? That will be No then. Good, he can do a job for us in League and Scottish
  13. I have just read that Mark McGhee says he has not even seen him play and comes on the recommendation of Alex McLeish I hope he dosn't hold a grudge, right enough there is enough background on this guy to take a gamble, not like Souness when he was manager of Southampton with Ali Dia
  14. Curiosity got the better of me and I had to check back. Cowdenbeath game was 1976, the year we got robbed by Rangers in the semi final losing 2-3. God I was 7 then and it still leaves a bitter taste when I think about it. That team should have won the Scottish Cup that year.
  15. Was that the game we had to cross over an old railway track to get to the ground? What year was that? There was a big Well support at that game. What a team we had then. I still see Bobby G on a friday night when he drops his granddaughter at cheerleading when I'm dropping my daughter off. Will need to ask him if he has read the book. I bought the hardback for 29p, you can get the paperback for 1p. Read through the small print if you want the hardback
  16. Peter Marinello was one of my favourite players back then, I didn't realise he had a book out, when I read this went straight onto amazon and bought a copy for 29p. Cheers.
  17. I will be very surprised if we manage to sign Gary Teale, he has been playing out of his skin since Nigel Clough took over and started playing him on the left wing, he had a solid game against Coventry yesterday setting up Derby's 2 goals. Nigel Clough might just want to keep hold of him and with Chris Porter signed he will supply some decent crosses for the bigman to fill his boots. Cant see us signing him but hope we do.
  18. I would like to see Lasley stay, he can provide cover in a few positions and if Porter goes for the money that has been mentioned then, no need to sell. Why scramble around for a utility player with 2 days of the window to go. I can't see him leaving.
  19. If you mean Kevin Kyle he has just signed an 18 month contract with Killie.
  20. The Fir Park Club did used to under the Phil O Donnell stand and the running of was attached to the Football Club. I can't mind what happened but the Fir Park Club was removed from the stadium and the Fir Park Club Committee purchased the sports/squash club and became independant from the Football Club, now the new Fir Park Social Club. I seem to remember the Football Club approaching the Social Club for money a few years back and were told where to go, but that is a vague memory and might not be true. Disagree it's a Rangers club, plenty of well fans drink in there. The lager they serve now is rank and although still have a membership rarely drink there now.
  21. If all these titles keep coming in, we will be called the steelwomen soon well done girls.
  22. He runs the footie schools up here in the summer, I mind my old man used to go along with bobby graham who saint is still very close too. Do they still run they schools because im going back about 10 years?
  23. The last game I watched from the main stand was Dooooooooooogiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeees game DOOOOOOOOOOGGGGGGGGGGIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEE DOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUGGGGGGGGIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE Apart from that not very often, a good view though better than the East easy
