  1. Agreed, although you'd assume replacements have already been identified. A bid for Marvin certainly wouldn't be unexpected I'm sure.
  2. Flow suggesting on Twitter that McGhee wants another midfielder, but some wheeling and dealing required before that can happen. I'd imagine Lucas is a real possibility but would probably depend on others leaving - wonder if the Ainsworth chat is still a go-er (if it ever was?)
  3. I'm never a fan of taking the same player on loan more than once. The Ripley signing struck me as a bit of a last-ditch effort, given we had missed out on Samson previously (although was that the season before?), but he developed well over his time with us and was a pretty safe pick towards the end. I'm pretty happy with both our keepers at the moment - unlikely to reach the Ruddy/Randolph heights but solid SPFL level. With the budgetary restrictions we're apparently working within I can't really argue.
  4. Josh Law goes with my best wishes. As much as he wasn't the most dynamic or talented of footballers, you couldn't fault his effort - I don't think we could necessarily ask for much more than that. Shoe in for Bradford though I reckon...
  5. In fairness, one of those injuries was a broken back...
  6. Skippy away according to Twitter... EDIT: Just clocked it's from that Agent Scotland guy. Will await more reputable confirmation!
  7. My 'other' team have unveiled their new Macron kits - a good bet for our base template I would think: http://www.fc-union-berlin.de/verein/aktuelle-meldungen/details/Macron-und-der-1-FC-Union-Berlin-praesentieren-die-neuen-Trikots-der-Saison-2016-2017-1312Q/
  8. Erwin?! FFS, silly season continues apace. I genuinely cannot fathom the love for Lee Erwin - he was an above average player in a very poor team, didn't score all that many goals (hardly surprising given where we ended up)...could he actually offer us anything? It's even more baffling considering Moore has re-signed.
  9. I'll only welcome them if they train 23 hours a day, and each have the build of the Mountain from Game of Thrones, the touch of Lionel Messi, and the pace of Chris Humphrey. And HATE the concept of going on holiday.
  10. Come back Trafficlight/MJC/Hammerfist...all is forgiven. Good to see that no matter the season, the zoomer quotient of this forum remains high. (Not aimed at you WishyWell, I might add!)
  11. All away from home too? EDIT - just remembered the pitch..:
  12. Ach, some folk will always put the opportunity for a keyboard rant before, well, everything else. Dearie me.
  13. Aye, but he sounded dead exotic n'that. How I long for those heady days...
  14. There has been a dearth of ridiculous signing rumours though, very disappointing. Where's this year's Hammerfist?
  15. Or rather, I doubt many players are au fait with the ins and outs of contract negotiations.
  16. No. I'm not sure how many players negotiate their own contracts however.
  17. That's why footballers have agents.
  18. Back to Belgium as far as I'd heard. Lot of goodwill from the Thistle fans but no idea if he's actually good, or just a cult hero in the Shivute/Klimpl mould.
  19. I see Flow has suggested some signing news early this week. Whether contract renewals or new faces I don't know, but still, it's progress... More stuff for certain folk on here to moan about, if nothing else.
  20. Makes sense to me. A one year deal gives the players in question a chance to prove themselves in and around the senior team, which none of them really have been thus far. I'm not sure of their ages, but are they not all going to be too old for the U20s this year? None of them have proven that they are ready to step up - seems little point in tying them to a long term contract if we have no guarantee they're going to work for us. The reduced budget means that we have to be a lot more careful in terms of the contracts we offer, and in fairness there are plenty of more sellable assets in the squad before these guys. So to summarise, please calm down.
  21. Have to agree with that!
  22. Deluded in what sense? If we were as bad as you suggest we wouldn't have survived the playoffs and would have been straight down this season. Nobody is saying that we were anything other than awful for the vast majority of last season, and the start of this one, although again, if we were that bad, would we have gone on that run and finished 5th? Its like the season we finished second under McCall. Largely mince for big parts of the season, but did anyone care about that when we scored up at Pittodrie? Doubtful. At the end of the day, we've finished significantly higher than we would have imagined this time last year - why panic?
