    Mark McGhee

Fucking gutted. My outrageous expectations of a Well manager haven't been matched. The best managers in the world don't give a shit about Motherwell. It's mad because I fully expected us to be at the top of any managerial list. I had expected at least a Champions League runner up to balace expectations
  2. Well. Recently, due to various on and off pitch reasons, there have been a swathe of topics veering from the unpleasant to the miserable and back again. I've contributed to these, I must admit. So, in the interests of positivity, I want to ask what the 'best' Motherwell game you've attended is, and why. Can be for what it meant, the joy it gave you, whatever. Cup final day for many (I'm too young), Skippy Sunday or the play offs for some, because it was against the filth, or perhaps the 6-6 game v Hibs (I left early and damn near put a hole in my gran's ceiling when we equalised) Mine has to be the 6-2 Livingston game. Ridiculous season, and then, as a kid, watching McFadden score 3, including a Panenka penalty and his big daft grin on getting the armband just blew me away. Along with singing away to Berti Vogts and being behind his car en route home. Seen better games, better results and all bar silverware, but that still makes me grin.
  3. Baraclough was shown up as a poor manager, but I still feel that a lot of folk instantly disliked him simply because he was fairly articulate. Eta - piss poor manager
  4. Whoever it was on here that pointed out McGhee saying 'y'know' all the time has ruined any future press conferences for me I think. Good grief.
  5. Voted no. Not delighted, but not bothered either way really. I wanted someone fresh and different, but happy to get behind McGhee, in the hope he gets us playing decent football again. Wasn't overly bothered by the manner in which he left. The Hearts debacle was ridiculous as well, but my main gripe with him was/will again be his perpetual sycophancy to ra shellic. If there was an 'Aye, I suppose, while sighing deeply' option, I'd have had that.
  6. Wild guess on player/assistant McManus.
  7. Not bothering. A train from Glasgow and back with the mutants for a televised early kick off just doesn't appeal. I'll watch us get pumped 4-0 on the telly.
  8. Don't feel much either way about McGhee. Did a good job, brilliant for a wee while infact, whored himself about, suckered up to Celtic in the press as hard as he could, and then left. I'd rather we moved forward rather than having someone back, but I'm a bit fed up with Motherwell at the moment anyway. Crap football, ongoing financial issues, lack of any coherence on or off the pitch and such have just ground me down. I'll take whoever can make watching us fucking fun again.
  9. Weird. I had a notion to look for him the other day and had a chuckle that he was still out of the game. Must have just been too early
  10. Again, very much too young to have seen Joe, but he was my dad's favourite ever Well player, and always spoke extremely highly of him. He doesn't throw around legend often but it'd never be questioned for Joe Wark. Rip.
  11. Got me. Brilliant. Don't want Calderwood. Would prefer a slightly more unknown quantity
  12. Ainsworth 55% Kennedy 45% for me. Great game from both
  13. Dismal game today. I'm loathe to say it but with how devoid of creativity and tactical nous that game was, I'm coming very close to wanting shot of Baraclough.
  14. Ok. I take it back. It was a tad of hyperbole admittedly.
  15. Ripley has the worst distribution I've ever seen at Fir Park.

    Jake Taylor

I think this is a bit harsh but by god he looks a total fucking bedknob.
  17. Moult. In a shite game, he, Thomas and McManus at least looked interested.
  18. Kennedy. With honourable mentions to Dom, Chalmers and Leitch. Moult isn't great, but he tries like hell and I'm loving that. Cool penalty as well.

    Well Bois

Was discussing this with my dad at the game today. Very subdued indeed.
  20. Did we win today? Christ alive.
  21. See, I thought Thomas' running was excellent, but smashing it straight against their centre half every time was counter productive. Raw and needs some strength work as well but got the hopes up big time. Thought it was a solid, easy win today. A bit flappy at the start of the second half but never under serious pressure. Kennedy was excellent. Not entirely sure why every pass from Law was criticised by folk near me in the East, but hell, why enjoy a game when you can get ripped into your chosen scapegoat instead? Having said all that, Killie are fecking rancid.
  22. Agree with Andy P. Not worried about this season. I think last year has given folk the fear to be honest. Unlike last season, we have some pace and are creating chances. With that, the results will come. Draw today.
  23. Bin him. Bin them all. We're the best team in the land. And We SHALL NOT RELENT. also ffs back off
