  1. Oh aye.. well just to train/play the odd bounce game or whatever. Even more reason to believe me!

Him and Casagolda kick about the football parks of Motherwell looking for any kids who happen to be kicking a ball about

  2. This Charalambous scenario's a funny one. Frankly it doesn't look like he's done anythin worthwhile and he's 22! Why the feck would anyone be taken over to live in scotland to play reserve team football at 22!

So, a wacky conspiracy has came to me. I think he was under pressure by his da to stick in the army. Maybe he hoped to get outa his army conscription early..or somethin. So he convinces brown to take him. Auld Broon said aye awryt, come to Scotland. There's yer answer.

What reserve team football? we have no league haha

  3. He's left - why the constant desire to predict what might have happened if he had stayed?

But, for what it's worth, a lot of people on here want Craigan dropped and the young players to be given their chance - something Gannon did but yet is viewed by the majority as an error on his part.

In my opinion there was a split in the squad, based on the behaviour of the players at Craigan's testimonial race night. I'm not suggesting any fall outs between the players, but those reported to be against Gannon were all drinking, while the youngsters and those playing were all on soft drinks.

He had a long term vision for the club, but it didn't come to pass. For me, one of his biggest errors was trying to change too much too soon and the performances eventually suffered. As for him not being liked by the players (some of them) and the other staff at the club - he was employed to get results on the park, not be everyone's best pal.

We'll never know if he'd have been a success had he stayed, and 6 months isn't long enough to categorically state that he would have failed either.

Dropping Craigan was the best thing Gannon did

  4. I see we've kinda en masse decided that Charalambous is shite.

This may or may not be the case - I'm not arguing that either way.

What I'd point out is that he wasn't brought in for the 1st Team

Has he even played a game yet?

  5. Kind of getting that way myself. Clearly there's a will to still discuss him in depth given the frequency these threads pop up.

Personally I think most have pretty entrenched views on the guy that aren't going to be changed now and I don't think there's that much to be gained continually going over the same ground time and time again.

    +1

  6. what about Velicka?

    I have my reservations though.........

he was a hit at Hearts, and thats what got him his move to Rangers, but then punted out to Norway, then to Aberdeen - and he hasnt really done anything

wages could be a stumbling block - but from what I remember when he was at Hearts, he knows where the goal is

its just frustrating, that this is the only real piece of the jigsaw left IMO - we will create chances, and we do create chances..........Porter scored, Lukas scored, Blackman scored

is it that, no one wants to come to us???? is that why we have problems?

and as for the Webster rumour, I have heard that one too. Although the I think the Hearts fans have a longer memory than Jefferies! is it not the same thing with McNaughton?!?!?!

I asked that a while ago, if we are going for folk maybe they just dont want to come.

Scottish football is going back even further now and is getting worse

even the Old Firm are not the appeal they used to be

  7. An absolute cock of a man. A 'mate of a mate' played under him at Stockport and he was apparently just a nasty bully who wasn't slow to dish out a serious amount of anti-Irish hatred at the guy (somewhat ironically). Is that sort of thing OK in football these days then?

Nah, if you had a boss like him at work, he'd get the bums rush and rightly so.

Gannon threw out anti Irish chat to someone? <_>

  8. You don't believe that's why he never worked out here?

With the same Motherwell team that did well under McGhee partially through the extra level of fitness they got from his double training sessions and training every Sunday? (we all saw how well that went down with the genuinely lazy bassas up in Tcheuchterland.)

I think Gannon had something about him that could make him a great manager, his personality is getting in the way of that.

His not lasting at Motherwell was nothing to do with Lazy players and everything to do with him being offensive to many people within Fir Park, in the playing and non-playing staff.

That sums it up i think,

he has a lot of skills and a way with working a team, a bit like Le guen did and john collins did but scottish players dont like it.

His personality gets in the way and overshadows his skills as a manager

  9. No that was here.

Stockport went OK. Peterborough went OK

What the fuck are you actually talking about.

Refs? The very same refs that we talk about? Other managers talk about? The very same refs that you were moaning about no later than yesterday FFS???? <_>

    At Dundalk he was ok

At stockport he kicked off about premier league teams taking a look at his players by sending scouts to games to watch them

He also refused to give an interview to sky about something to do with his own sky tv he had in his house

Ill give you peterborough apart from not signing a longer contract because he didnt want to be there anymore and he couldnt save them from relegation

But he went to the papers about his spat with Hugh Dallas, and made us sound like celtic with his public spat with him, there are ways to do things and for a manager of a football club i dont think going to the press about ref issued is the right thing to do. Im not saying i dont have a go, but im a fan and im on a forum its not like in getting interviewed for the paper

We all know Steve you love Gannon and that's fine i did always give him credit for his love of using youth players, i just dont think he's that good a manager :P

  10. Indeed. Football could do with a lot more Jim Gannons kicking some primadonna arses.

Gannon himself is a bit of a primadonna, not all the players fault.

Everywhere he has been he has fallon out with chairmen, or refs, or players

  11. Would be my thinking.

A molly cuddled bunch of players who will be shy of some serious graft and home truths that'll dent the precious wee souls ego's. People in everyday life will have much worse bastards than Gannon in charge at their places of work and just have to get on with it.

My gaffer is an Airdrie fan <_>

  12. There are some on this board that felt Gannon was wrongly hounded out of Fir Park......

    Pressure Grows On Gannon

If rumours circulating in the Potteries are anything to go by, Vale boss Jim Gannon is under increasing pressure to save his job only 5 games into his managerial reign. The former Stockport County and Motherwell manager has endured a difficult start to life at Vale Park, where stories abound of dressing room unrest.

Speculation has been rife that following tonight`s game with Rotherham United, Gannon could be relieved of his managerial duties. Following the appointment of two new members of his backroom staff yesterday (Andy Mulliner and Ben Cooper) the move seems unlikely on the face of things.

This makes me laugh, because Gannon is a wank

    and a shite manager

    fullstop <_>

  13. ....Aye but no pressure from the 50,000 demanding you're Pele every week cause your playing for the "club of the pe-pal!"

Just telling what I was led to believe....

Damn Old scum fans, no wonder som many players flop when they go their, thats why i can never understand why folk like Riordan,Gow (when he was good), Webster and other folk go to the old firm!

Unless you can cope your out the door and it's a bit difference than playing in front of like 13 thousand who appreciate if you put a shift in to 50,000 who want you out if you dont score every game

  14. Has anyone heard anything about Gavin Gunning? I see he's 20 years old, and has been loaned out to clubs such as Rotherham, Bury and Tranmere.

Got his under 21 cap quite recently Allerdyce thought really highly about him. He tunred down a few top league sides for Blackburn,

    thats all i know haha

  15. I've heard that Webster has bottled it at the thought of playing for a club the stature of Rangers. All these injuries are feigned because the pressure gets to him and he can't hack it.

That might explain why he only played like 20 games for Dundee Utd and was their captain and won a trophy with them ;) pure bottle merchant
