  1. Herald Looks like it's going to be Derek Rae - remember him ?? Spoke with an American accent (even though he came from Aberdeen) and worked with BBC Scotland for a while before going to work for ESPN in the US. Stuart.
  2. I still think that "rab_mackinnon" is our old friend Ice Rink !! The style and substance( ) is so similar. For what it's worth, we leave the pitch at Fir Park for as long as possible before playing on it. Stuart.
  3. That will balance out the Nancy tickets then when 5 euros was £5 - and that was before the exchange rate fell ! Stuart.
  4. Too much information GazzyB !! Wonder if Ritchie de Laet from Manchester United is our new (loan) signing ? Stuart.

Delighted with this signing, once again JG is a man of his word Exciting times to be a Well fan ! Stuart.
  6. Hope you had a good time over here and a safe journey back. Good luck. Stuart.
  7. Owain Fon Williams - Stockport keeper was thought to be a stick-on. Stuart.
  8. No late opening at Fir Park ? That's disappointing. Stuart.
  9. I wouldn't say it's "laughable" to talk about what he's achieved. He inherited a squad which had lost at least 8 first-team regulars and was pitched into a European match in his first week. Once he got to work he turned the tie around, bad luck cost us in Albania and last night we witnessed one of the most electrifying performances with a line-up none of us expected. Compare that with a mere three weeks ago - ok, it's still early days but the signs so far are highly encouraging, and he has achieved a lot in a short time, giving young players such a prominent place in his plans deserves immense credit alone. Stuart.
  10. Too many of the experienced players have been coasting for the last two years knowing that their place in the team was secure regardless of their form. The team which played last night didn't look in any way unsettled. If the "big time Charlies" don't like it, they know where the door is. And in any event, Gannon is 100% correct in what he is saying. Stuart.
  11. I saw a real footballing lesson for last night ! Stuart.
  12. Lot of good patter from you last night - good to put a face to the name ! Stuart.
  13. Melvin, were you sitting in the main stand, in line with the 18 yard box where the goals were scored first half? On the passageway about 3/4 of the way back ? I think my father and I were sitting behind you. You made a comment at 3-0 about getting 5-0 up at half time and getting the cigars out. Certainly the guys in front of me were praising Sutton to the hilt as well! Stuart.
  14. Where do you start ? Outstanding, awesome, sublime, breathtaking, incredible....... Simply the best performance I have ever seen from a Motherwell side - backing up great play with great goals and totally destroying an opponent. The young guns were out of this world - Slane and Forbes look to be incredibly special, Murphy came of age last night and Hutchinson was a revelation. Incredible to think that all of the youngsters who played last night were all part of the squad in the SPL last season, and with the exception of Murphy none of them ever got a sniff of a game and sat on the bench - possibly the odd brief sub appearance but that would be it. Tactically, Jim Gannon played a blinder last night. Big game, change in formation and personnel - we lived through that last season and each time it failed. Last night, Gannon delivered and like the previous poster I think John Boyle and the board deserve enormous credit for the appointment. Of the new signings, both looked like they will be excellent additions to the team - Jennings is probably a week or two away from full match fitness and certainly came onto a game as the night progressed. Humphrey looks very skilfull and I think we'll see a lot of good play from him. Wouldn't get too worried about Hammell being dropped - that was all about Gannon's tactics, as was the decision to play O'Brien at right back - ok, he looked uncomfortable but he was still able to get forward, which was obviously what the boss (or as I now call him The New Special One) wanted. Special mention for John Sutton - best game in a Motherwell shirt - would love him to have scored but sadly not to be - he did win everything which came his way and his link work was superb. The transformation in the weeks since the defeat by Llanelli has been amazing and the emergence of the young guys is fantastic. I think we can now look forward with great anticipation. Before last night the tie against Steaua worried me slightly - yes, they will probably be a better side, and they have a strong European history......but there is a reason that they entered the Europa League in the second round, so if we take last night's performance into the next round there is no reason why we should feel that anything is beyond us. Oh.....we need a new goalkeeper. But what a night.......still cannot quite believe it. The absolute bedlam when we scored, pandemonium when we went ahead on aggregate and the unbridled delirium when each subsequent goal went it..........great time to be a Well fan ! Stuart.
  15. It might be moved for live TV once the fixtures are announced by Sky and ESPN. Possibly to the Monday night. Stuart.
  16. I'm with the guys who wouldn't read too much into Hammell being dropped. Gannon went with a formation to do a job last night and by god they did that and then some. Hammell I am sure has a big part to play this season and what we saw last night was the tactical genius that is Jim Gannon Stuart.
  17. Not On Radio Fuming. Is that a new station Stuart.
  18. A totally predictable response. Stuart.
  19. It was £2 for the car park. For the Llanelli game I approached Airdrie from Auchenkilns around 6.45 - made the mistake of going for something to eat and when I got back onto Carlisle Road about 7.10ish it was slow going, Car Park at the North end of the ground was full. Had to drive around Craigneuk Avenue and onto Petersburn Road to get into the South car park and again it was very slow - thought I was going to miss the kick off, particularly as I still had to get my ticket. I'd leave in plenty of time tonight and settle in for a long wait to get out of the car park after the game. Stuart.
  20. I'm sorry but that is THE most ridiculous statement I have ever read on this site. Stuart.
  21. Last time out we became the first Scottish side to go through a European tie after losing the first leg. Tonight we could do that for a second time ! Another first tonight would be that if we win then it will be the first time we have played 3 European ties in the same season. Mon the Well. Stuart.
  22. I'm sure it was Fir Park - I remember sitting in the Main Stand when my season ticket was in there. Where's fatcalf when you need him ?!? Stuart.
